The Sarasota Modern, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

It was the perfect mental health reset for myself while life has been so chaotic. The boutiquie vibe was so perfect and I loved how light and bright the rooms are. The gym simple but provided everything I needed, and Iwas able to practice my yoga quietly with the best possible view from the terrace there. It was just what I needed, thank you. This was the best day that I have had in quite some time💖

Although the hotel itself is really nice and Steven the bartender is awesome, the front desk lady was super rude and lazy. Zero customer service! Right from the start when I said my name she gave me a straight look, no smile and said I had no reservation. I explained I did and tried to show my confirmation, however she was quick to ask if I did not make the reservation to the wrong hotel (?). She almost gave me a panic attack. I had to wait in the lobby while I was the one contacting expedia, not her. Finally when apparently the manager came in and asked her to give Expedia a call. She almost ruined our experience from the start, luckily the amenities and other workers made up for her.

Let's start off with how the toilet in our room was not working. Since we checked in late, there was no one to fix it. We were told to walk downstairs to go to the bathroom. We noticed that the room was lacking towels, hand soap, a coffee maker, and blue tooth speaker (all which are included with the room). When we asked the front desk, they made it seem that what we were asking for was an inconvenience. We got the towels and soap (not even hand soap: DISH soap) but were never given the coffee maker or blue tooth speaker. Then we realized that the tub on the balcony ran only boiling hot or scalding hot. We also noticed that the drain was broken, causing water to drain out fast. The reason why we picked this room was for this tub. The tub's temp was not fixed until later into the afternoon on our second (and last) day, and the drain was never fixed. We never got to enjoy the one thing we were looking forward to with our stay at this hotel. The cherry on top is when the valet crashed our car, lied about it, and we almost rode off home with a messed up car. Although the hotel is paying for the damage to the car, we were still barely compensated for all our troubles during our stay. The bare minimum was done. Just a couple fees taken off and half off one of our nights. This is insulting to say the least. Our entire experience from beginning to end was a nightmare and we will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

I had an issue with my car. Somebody tried to open it during the night and broke a small piece of car door. I reported it, but nobody said something.

The room felt unclean. The door lock was almost inoperable- even the housekeeper couldn’t get my key to open the door. The one morning I was going to use the pool the pool deck was covered with empty champagne bottles, beer bottles, discarded clothing and Mylar party banners, clearly management is not enforcing Covid restrictions. I paid more for a room with a balcony, but the balcony was directly over the generator and AC units, thus loud and not conducive to sitting outside. There is no coffee in the room. I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very nice but the overall atmosphere was strange due to other guests. Seemed to be a place for hook ups. Restaurant also closed for the rest of 2020.

When we got there, we had bottom floor thinking we might get at least a floor and at least with a view. They switched us to the 4th floor but then the toilet didn't flush, then the toilet clogged, water was all over the floor, the technician had to come fix it. The fridge didn't work, it was hot the whole time we were there. There was no microwave (for a 4 star hotel). We asked for towels, we had to call them to the front desk again, we had to wait 1 hour and a half for them.

We had so much fun in Sarasota. Sun, surf and great food!
