Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Bonnyville, an IHG Hotel

The rooms and front desk were great but very disappointed in the slack attitude towards Covid and precautions. There were (small) signs to wear masks in public areas but only a couple of us guests followed the rules. Even some male staff walked around with no masks? Breakfast area, I watched many people eat and leave and tables were never cleaned before the next person sat down? We used the meeting rooms and had to access to a washroom, Even though hotel guests and others were using that washroom, it was cleaned the first day only? Again, it should have been cleaned and disinfected regularly. When we did complain the next day, it was promptly cleaned but it should have been common sense to clean. I would go back to this hotel BUT not through Covid as its obvious they are not taking it serious.

We stayed for 3 nights. Slept in the first morning until 10am so missed getting the room cleaned as the staff were gone home already (Saturday). Came in to find our room was not cleaned Sunday afternoon. When I asked at the front desk, we were told the cleaning staff never come in on Sundays. This was not explained to us when we checked in or on their website when we booked thru Expedia. We did extend our stay by one night and were given a slightly reduced rate. Paid $107/night on Fri/Sat thru Expedia but only paid $99 for the extended night on Sun.

The kids enjoyed the pool (water was not cold at all), sauna was good too, the fitness room was so so (bike aren’t comfortable and hard to stay on, treadmill carpet is broke and was fixed with duct tape...). Rooms was clean , shower water was ether coming out cold-cold or hot-hot nothing in between. Staffs was really friendly, polite and accommodating (5 star). Breakfast was ok for a continental. Love that parking have plug in for vehicle. I would say for Bonnyville area this is probably one of the best hotel versus price.

Our Parents live in this community and we were joining them for Christmas but with 30 of us expected not everyone could stay at their house. We live 7 hrs drive away, so we booked a room. Checkin was as easy as giving my name, and signing a form. The person at the desk was very friendly. Our room was beautiful and very clean, if a bit on the warm side. Turning down the room unit fixed that. Once or twice the key card gave some issues but persistance payed off. Morning breakfast was wonderful , and on Christmas morning they even brought more out (after 9am the posted end time) for some of us stragglers. After spending the whole day with family it was a delight to return to a freshly cleaned room with a calm atmosphere. We again slept well and woke earlier for breakfast (again great). Checkout was even easier than checkin. A few more hours with family and then a long drive back. Teleportation could have improved our visit, but aside from next gen. tech. your facility was perfect for our purposes.
