My wife and I recently stayed at Le Basilica Addis Hotel, Apartments & Spa, and we will definitely return. The apartments were very clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The waitresses were exceptional, and while the team is naturally welcoming, further training for the management and front desk would elevate the service to a truly elite standard. The property features a nice Italian restaurant, and we were spoiled with a wonderful breakfast that included everything from fruit salads to delicious ice cream.
There are, however, areas for improvement. We had an initial hiccup regarding our breakfast inclusion and were given a room without the balcony we booked—though we eventually grew to like the space. Additionally, the internet needs to be more reliable, and the morning chefs more consistent. Regarding facilities, the spa looks impressively large, and we hope it becomes operational soon. The gym is surprisingly well-equipped for an apartment hotel in Addis, but it requires better cleaning and equipment maintenance. Note that there is some noise from the neighboring school and mosque, though this is beyond the hotel’s control.
A special highlight was meeting the owner, a truly caring gentleman who even offered us a free pizza before our flight. This personal touch makes Le Basilica stand out among long-stay options in Addis. With a bit more focus on professional consistency and facility upkeep, this establishment will be a perfect five-star hidden gem.
