Very mediocre stay, overall. The room/suite was .... fine. Contrary to description, there was no bathtub or washer-dryer. Wifi was spotty and slow. Housekeeping was not daily, but every 3 days. (We checked in on Sunday. There wasn't a proper cleaning until Wednesday, and none after that.) We asked for extra bath towels and had to practically beg and explain why we needed them before we finally got them. On one of the nights we were there, the water was shut off for several hours, and no compensation was offered, beyond a cursory "apology" letter.
The hotel offers a "free" shuttle to Philipsburg that is supposed to leave at 11. At 11:15, I asked where the shuttle was and was told it was about 15 minutes away. No apology. No explanation. Then, the driver demanded that each of us pay him $7, despite the shuttle being advertised as free.
The rental car company that works with the hotel gave us a car that had expired license plates, which a friendly police officer pointed out to us. The rental car company associate basically shrugged this off when we told her.
The hotel is decent - it is on the beach, but has no hotel bar (the bar nearby is not associated with the hotel, so you can't charge to the room), and the hotel pool is basically a glorified kiddie pool. It's tiny and shallow.
It wasn't a terrible experience, but for the price, and considering the "resort" in the title, I was disappointed.
