Wanted to love it—but disappointed
I really wanted to like this facility—this review should be considered a generous attempt to give The Huntington the benefit of the doubt. The esthetics were above average; nicely located, secluded within a business district; well lighted - felt safe. The hotel really was lovely on the surface, and initially seem at first glance, well maintained.
Even the lobby area was lovely.
However—When I got to room 312 I was disappointed. The decor was drab and uninviting—the furniture while well maintained seemed just ok.
The best thing about the room was the oversized tub and shower area. It was absolutely perfect—lovely glass doors, and plenty of towels. This was not a standard size tub and shower but at lest 50% larger that standard, and really very impressive.
The ac/heat was operated by what look similar to a TV remote on the wall. Ok but not high tech.
The thing that was most disappointing was the carpet—it was absolutely awful, dirty any stained. You would not want to walk barefooted in that room; it seemed strangely incongruent with the condition and quality of everything else.
Additionally it would have been nice to have an electrical outlet near the desk - I needed to unplug the refrigerator and plug it into my surge suppressor so that I could charge my electronics.
All said—I would stay there again if the promised to maintain the carpets.
