Independence Square Lodge by Frias

Great location, interior felt a little dated, heat wasn't the best and bed was not very comfortable. For the value, this was a great option, and during the pandemic the noise level outside wasn't too bad with places closing early, but I would think outside of COVID the rooms would be very loud. Loved the roof deck and hot tub.

Our stay was very pleasant and the room meet all our expectations. Conveniently located in the downtown area near numerous restaurants. Only issue was parking. Very confusing, even the woman at the front desk couldn’t explain it to us. Had to park four blocks away. Overall a great stay, but parking an issue.

We’ve stayed at Independence Square fairly often when visiting Aspen. The location is perfect and the rooms are not fancy, but always clean and pleasant. We will certainly be back.

Best of all is the location abd was very pleased with the staff and loved the rooftop with views and a hot tub. Also our room was spotless! I would stay here every time I come to Aspen

The location is fantastic the room was spacious and the rooftop Jacuzzi and lounge area are awesome in the afternoon with a glass of wine. Two things I did not like the carpet had one big into smaller stains and the bed had very hard mattress

The one hour window to check in was weird and there was no hot water at 7 am when I left. Great location and nice room, but it was not properly made up upon arrival (unfolded blanket left laying out). Front desk was quick to remedy though

The location is nice. Right smack in the middle of everything. The hotel itself does not have a parking spot. You have to drive around and look for one and sometimes that’s not what you want to be doing. There is a jacuzzi on the roof top which is a nice touch. The rooms themselves were nice, although very old and a bit outdated. Still, great location and overall for me a 7 out of 10. The staff was great, however they leave at 5pm..

Perfect location. Simple, no fuss, one perfectly appointed room.

Great location, close to everything, comfortable room with lots of extras. We appreciated the robes, humidifier, and white noise machine in the room. The rooftop has stunning views of Aspen mountain. Great spot, we’d definitely stay here again!

Our room smelled horrible, almost like mold and urine. The dishwasher was on with standing water in it and it beeped every 30 seconds. We were unable to turn it off. The front desk person said "ok.. we will check it." You have to park in a neighborhood several blocks away and move your car by 10am so it does get towed away. Then pay a meter to park.
