Homewood Suites by Hilton Sarasota

The pictures of the room are not representative of where we were located. The room was cramped. The bathroom was so small that you had to walk into the shower stall or stand between the toilet and wall to shut the door. Grout was coming out from between the tiles in the bathroom. The wallpaper in the bathroom was torn. Had to walk all the way around the building to the lobby to get ice. Wouldn't allow us an early check in. Guests check out at 11 am & they couldn't have a room available in an hour or two? Get real! This is the Hilton for God's sake. We wound up sleeping in a Sam's parking lot for four hours. Homewood Suites in Orlando is amazing but this one left a lot to be desired. LaQuinta off I-75 would be a better choice on the east side of Sarasota . In room hot tub and very spacious. And Holiday Inn on Lido Beach if your staying on the west side of Sarasota. Both will break their neck to give you "knock your socks off" service. In room coffee products were great. Only bright spot of the stay.

The staff was great. The room was very clean. Free parking was definitely a plus.

Mostly friendly staff and the hot breakfast was both good and convenient. Minor issues with cleanliness and the hotel shows signs of deferred maintenance. Could be a great hotel if they put a little money into it.

We had to park our car far away from our room. Breakfast hadn’t have enough food for everyone, if you come late like 30 minutes before the breakfast will close then it will be almost no food. Overall the staff was nice and good.

When I checked in I asked if the hot tub was open to which I was told yes. I was then told the pool closes at dusk. I checked in at 4 and dusk is around 5'ish. Hurrying to the the room to change into a swimsuit, we were walking all day at the Suncoast Renaissance Festival, which was great. We were tired and looking forward to the hot tub, which is why we booked this hotel. We discovered the hot tub was as cold as the pool, they should have mentioned that when I specifically inquired about said hot tub. I almost forgot, I booked a queen bed room and was given 2 double beds which did not make my wife happy. When I called the front desk, I was told that because it was booked through a third party company that I would have to call them, and oh by the way, they don't even have a queen room available today. When I called hotels.com, they were VERY apologetic and confirmed that I did in fact book a queen, NOT 2 DOUBLE BEDS and may I please hold while he contacts the hotel. The manager was not at the hotel at this time and the front desk couldn't do ANYTHING to help. Hotels.com got back on the phone with me and gave me a coupon on my account as a way to appease my dissatisfaction, with the hotel. If a queen bed room wasn't available for this date, then the hotel should NOT have accepted the booking. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again, in my opinion the hotel could have made SOME KIND OF ATTEMPT, to satisfy a UNHAPPY CUSTOMER. I will stay at Marriott exclusively from now on

Parking was a nightmare. Not once during our six night stay did we find a parking space anywhere near our building. The only available parking spaces most days were three buildings away. One Sunday we had to park at a closed business next door.

Very clean, very comfortable. Parking was lopsided because most of it was close to the other side of the hotel. It was quite a walk in the pouring rain. Everything else was terrific!

the room was clean, but when we woke up there was a few worms on the ground, and one was on my daughters leg! the overall stay was ok. I expected more for the price. the staff was very friendly.
