Comfort Suites Benton Harbor - St. Joseph

The service was good but the room was not clean at all. When we entered the room the lamp on the night stand was tipped over, the coffee table was out of place, and the desk chair was not at the desk. The bathroom was not taken care of. Towels just thrown on the shelf and the toilet seat was dirty. (You know what i mean by 'dirty') There was paint peeling off of the wall and the TV stand was broken. The room definitely needed to be clean a lot better and maintenance needs much attention as well as overall tidiness needs to be exhibited more more than it was. The location was secluded which was nice and not far from stores and restaurants. Im not one to give bad reviews but this literally was the dirtiest room we've ever stand in. The king size bed was comfortable.

There was a musty smell when you first enter the lobby.

The hotel was clean but had a old smell. Our shower did not work so you could only bath. Mary at the front desk was helpful. Just pastries for breakfast.

The area immediately outside the building was very nice looking.

The property is in a convenient location but not necessarily the safest. There was an abandoned car with broken windows in the lot for the entirety of our stay. When I booked the room, photos showed a spa tub in the room. When we arrived, there was not a spa tub and the linens and towels all had loose hairs. Even though checkout was at 11:00, housekeeping began banging on doors promptly at 10:00am. Even as we were leaving to check out, the housekeeper was rude. Pool was closed, not due to COVID, but due to hygienic issues issued by the county/state. Definitely not worth the suite price. Avoid if at all possible.

My experience at this hotel was horrible. The toilet was stopped up and the front desk said someone would be up to fix it. Supposedly the manager went up but we ended up using a plunger from outside another room to fix the toilet. Then when taking showers the bathtub would back up with water. I called the front desk and was told there wasn’t another room to be moved to. After our phone call she said she would call the manager. The front desk called back and miraculously had a new room for us to be moved to. We got to the new room and someone had been smoking in it. Not a big deal if you are a smoker but we are not and had rented a non smoking room. I wouldn’t ever recommend this location.

Clean facility but lacked buffet and pool due to Covid. Rooms were good sized and very clean. We slept comfortably but could hear footsteps at 1 AM when the people above us arrived late.

Relatively clean but there were stains on the wall in the bathroom where the light switch was. We could also hear the people above us along with kids running up and down the hallway.

Other than the air conditioning fan speeds all being the same and the bathroom exhaust fan not working this place was decent. The staff was friendly and the room was clean.

The bed sheets were dirty. We got a new room and it smelled musty and there was mold on the walls from a water leak
