Dakota Hotel

Dakota Hotel is situated near Union square ad 20 mins away from Fisherman's wharf

The facility is very old and poorly maintained. I did not feel particularly safe inside the building and dashed in and out.

We loved this little hotel. It had old world charm and the neighborhood was super safe. The free breakfast was yummy

I would not recommend any one this hotel ,the picture uploaded on site was appealing, but the actual Rooms was not as per the picture uploaded, bathrooms are very small, no basic amenities, drinking water bottle , no room phone, aslo the room with breakfast idea was bad , as you are to make your own breakfast with utensils , bread, butter, tea bags , coffee and juice provided. Also no air conditioning in the room.

It had a rustic old world charm about it and quite comfortable. However, it could do with some updates that will surely not cost too much, for instance, putting a curtain to cover the exposed closet, considering that there was already a rod installed there. Rusty hinges could have been oiled (we could not open what looked like a toiletry cabinet so we could store our toiletries in there; the tiny shelf over the sink was not properly installed so our stuff kept sliding and falling into the sink); using fabric softener could have improved the feel of the beddings.

The property smelled bad. It also was run down and had some very frightening people hanging around. My family only stayed one night and then we had to find another hotel. It is not at all like the pictures.

This accommodation is a great location to many of the loca attractions including Inion square and a 30 min walk to Fisherman’s wharf.

This hotel is a bit like stepping into the past with a time machine. That's not necessarily a bad thing. The room was clean, fresh towels and toiletries provided. All the basics were met and have a place to rest your head while you tour the city. For San Francisco, most accomodation is extraordinarily expensive whereas this hotel was very affordable for myself and three other friends. As it turned out, my two other friends didn't make the trip and I footed the bill myself. The staff were were extremely understanding and helpful - allowing me to shorten my stay and even collect packages that arrived when i had already checked out.

I absolutely loved this hotel. For the price we book this at, it was almost impossible to find a hotel with a private bathroom for the same price. I was staying with one other person and to save money we got ourself one king bed instead of two queen beds. When we got to the hotel there was a king bed and a single bed which was perfect for us. If you go downstairs from the lobby to the shared kitchen, it is a great place to meet some people. Finally, the location for the price was amazing. It was close enough to a Muni station to where we could walk there in about 10 minutes, and was also far enough from neighborhoods like Tenderloin to where it doesn’t feel safe. The only thing that was bad was our refrigerator kinda worked and the hotel windows are very thin so everything that happens outside is quite loud. I don’t blame them though because the building was built sometime in the late 20s and early 30s and windows were thinner back in the day. Over all, this was one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
