Courtyard by Marriott Charlotte Gastonia

This is a old hotel. So if you're just looking for somewhere to lay your head ...fine. The common area have been updated but the rooms have not. The area is not so good either. We witnessed what appeared to be homeless drunkards across the street near Cracker Barrel. The staff was great. Oh, 60% of the guest DID NOT wear masks although posted signs for common areas. Never witnessed staff saying anything. We prepaid so no return of money for early check out.

The staff were wonderful. The hotel was clean. The pool and fitness center was great. Everything was wonderful!

Room set up was cool. I liked the decor as well, modern yet vintage mix.

There was no microwave in the room or coffee maker.

Worst experience ever at a Courtyard by Marriott. Not up to standard. Stayed 3 nights and 4 days and this went on entire stay. Management is letting locals use the hotel amenities and pretending to turn a blinds eye. No coffee in room. Only one dryer in whole hotel working. Credit card machine down at cafe - had to pay cash or charge to room - no other option. Pool and hot tub, laundry, courtyard full of sketchy locals. Homeless living in woods adjacent to hotel and coming in and out of hotel and management pretending not to notice. Night management letting them in the pool and hot tub. Pool and hot tub was filthy. I had to make an appointment due to COVID and then it was full of locals not even paying to be there. Abandoned car in parking lot - appears someone living in it.

The property is very nice and well kept. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Did not sleep well due to noisy neighbors in the adjacent room.

Awsome stay.

I got to the hotel after check-in time my room was not ready Then when it finally was I was in the restroom and the staff just walked in talking about they needed to do an inspection because my room had not been inspected yet! There were bikers all over the place outside drinking in front of the lobby running through the hallways very loud and obnoxious and Hotel staff said nothing I was very uncomfortable with the rowdiness of the hotel and for $134 a night there wasn’t even a microwave! If it wasn’t for me not being able to find another place close by I would have definitely left it was by far my worst hotel experience ever

The parking lot had good lighting which of course is very important when checking in late.
