Hayes Mansion, San Jose - Curio Collection by Hilton

Our stay was good. Had to ask 3 times for a working coffee maker but overall not a bad stay. Quite and peaceful

Beautiful place. Nicely furnished. Refrigerator in room. Services a little limited at time because of CA state Covid restrictions. Good restaurant area just a couple miles West.

We had a very good stay, rooms were very clean, it was newly remodeled. Nice big 65 inch tv, new furniture, new bathroom, usb outlets. It was an awesome property but we didn’t get to go around. I would just take out one star because the room we stayed smelled of smoke and they said it’s non smoking, they offered to move us but we preferred to stay. Otherwise we would come back again.

Great hotel! The room was hard to find at first because of several separated buildings but no big deal. Really clean, organized and spacious room held me and my lady comfortably. Would definitely stay here again!

I've stayed here several times since before even Wyndham owned this place. While the rooms did need a refresh, Hilton's remodel this year doesn't really fit the property. I'm not sure if they're going for a steampunk/hipster feel, but it comes off almost like a haunted house vibe with blowing smoke replacing the heads of the figures in the hall portraits. It certainly fits with the decor I've experienced in other newer Hilton properties like a recently renovated Doubletree, but I would have preferred they keep the theme more in line with the grand mansion this is - if I want an eggbeater lamp fixture by my bed, I'll go to a less historic property. The staff was very attentive and the rooms were exceptionally clean, however attention to detail on the renovation was lacking: my bathroom sink didn't work, and the solid metal button that changes the water flow from the tub faucet to the shower head fell out onto my foot. In fairness, the suite where I was relocated had no functional issues. Had this been my first visit, perhaps the "hip and modern" interior would not have been so noticeable, but the disconnect between these trendy rooms and the exterior grandeur of the building and grounds make me question the direction they are taking here. I'm not asking for a wooden bucket shower or chain pull toilet tank, but they seem to have gone a bit too far the other direction now for me.

The a/c system is so loud coming on and going off I kept waking up thinking someone was beating on my door in the middle of the night.

Very clean, upgraded rooms. Great staff! Pool is nice and lots of area for kids to play.
