The Metropole Hotel

Excellent stay all round!!!

Really friendly staff that took the time to get to know you personally. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Location is in the middle of the city and within walking distance to some great bars and restaurants.

The staff and service were superb, our room was gorgeous, one of the very old rooms at the front of the hotel. there was traffic noise in the morning but more than we expected as we did, after all, choose to stay in a city centre hotel. The view over the street was lovely also. We loved the location of the hotel, right outside are cool bars, old pubs, excellent restaurants and 2 theatres. My one negative was the room chosen by the hotel to present breakfast. There would seem to be some much more pleasant and newly decorated rooms in the hotel.

Very central hotel a short walk to restaurants, easily accessible by car, there is no car parking at the hotel but you can avail of subsidised parking at a car park close by. Rooms were very comfortable and very clean. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. Would recommend if staying in the Cork area.

I opted for an executive room and the invoice from the reservation team 3520740 came in at €165.17 without breakfast. I was biled for €197.50 plus additional 30 for breakfast. The room was tiny with a small flat screen tv in the corner. Plastic cups were provided in the bathroom. No Luggage rack in the room. Had to leave our bags on the floor after hanging up our clothes in the wardrobe.
