Good place with handy restaurant.

I was here for two nights on my way up to Fairbanks. Honestly I took a gamble with this hotel instead of just booking a Marriott or Hilton...which I wish I chose the latter. The building seems very old. It has a weird odor everywhere especially in the halls and rooms. It bothered me so much that I went to Walmart and bought some Glade outlets to plug in to mask the smell. The parking lot seemed kind of sketchy and for good reason. There seems to be a lot of homeless people around. If they’re not homeless, then there’s a lot of people that walk the sidewalks even in subzero weather. The front desk will give you a free parking pass otherwise your car will probably get towed or ticketed. There’s a restaurant inside the hotel, but you can’t dine in so I paid no mind to it. Also the ledges of the roofs are full of ice that looks like it could seriously hurt somebody if it melted. Overall I would not stay at this hotel again. Maybe during the summer time when the snow, ice and lake are melted, then staying in this old building might be worth it.

Gorgeous Alaskan lobby welcomes you. There was a wait as only attendant was working but she did acknowledge the wait which goes a long wait for me. Very comfortable beds. Both heat and air conditioning are available. I loved the heat in the bathroom to keep the area toasty! Restaurants are available in the lobby for take out starting with breakfast at 7am.

terrible service

Stayed here with a friend before catching an early morning flight. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff are great but there was some issues eith cleanliness. Our room had handprints all over the headboard, there were empty wine bottles laying outside of the building and a few random pieces of trash left from other guests. Other than that, our stay was excellent.

This is wonderful place to stay. Friendly, comfortable, close to the airport.
