Service charge when you check in
We called and asked about the pet fee. They told us is 25. They offer hotels.com vip special rate for the room with a pet. But when we show up. They charged additional service fee. Hotels.com can not hold them accoutable for what they post originally and can not get a hold of the hotel. We live 20 mins away and the reason we stay in the hotel that night because we have a photo shoots next day and we want pets to stay away. We want to cancel the hotel stay when they want to charge extra and hotels com can not get a hold of the hotel to communicate what we want. The hotels.com show that there is only pet charge in the receipt but the hotel does what they want. They still charge us the service fee and no upgrade like what tjey promise for hotels.com vip. The room sells dog. If the hotel stay is 71 a night plus tax and you charge me 55 extra for pet stay. Your dog smell room does not adjust the extral charge. Will never stay here again.

Southern Oaks Hotel
Rooms are spacious and clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Room had a refrigerator and microwave. Close to trolley for downtown fun. Plenty of great restaurants in area. Walgreen and CVS right across the street. Staff was friendly and helpful. Offers free breakfast. Will stay here again on my next visit to Saint Augustine.

Good Location!
We booked the King Deluxe room over the weekend. It was a good price for what we got. Breakfast was good, certain items they have workers serve it to you (pancakes, eggs, potatoes) everything tasted great. The employees were nice and informative. The location was good, close to everything and they have a shuttle you can use for free to go to the visitor center. The two things I did not like was the bed. It was very firm ( very HARD) and it was difficult to sleep in after a while. Also, the bathroom was very small it was like the size of a small closet. No bathtub just a standing shower which was not bad, just wished the bathroom was bigger. The room was clean and all essentials included. Even though we had a pleasant experience, we would choose to not stay again due the bed being too hard and size of bathroom.

Family trip with Fur babies
This was our second time staying at Southern Oaks Inn. It was good for a short stay near the hustle and bustle of St Augustine (about a 5 - 10min drive). We brought our bikes and pedaled into the heart and history of St. Augustine. We love that it is Pet Friendly, it makes a big difference when planning our trips. This hotel offers a dog bed (our dogs loved it) and dog bowl (we appreciate this thought). It’s a bit of an older hotel, however, given this was our second time, we saw the changes from the last time. They’ve done a great job with the upgrades =) At the time of check in they provide you a list of pet friendly places to eat and visit in the St Augustine area. Pet fee is $25 per day (EXTREMELY REASONABLE, compared to what we have seen for other hotels). We will definitely come back to the area and stay here =)

Great value!
This is always a great stay for us, we stay here every time we come into town! The remodeled rooms are great! They have added a lot of new tech updated that needed to happen. Like USB and USB-C ports in the head board which are a nice touch. A/C and heat work GREAT!!!! Road noise is very small considering your on US-1. They have a shuttle that takes you to downtown and back 10am-10pm love that touch. Beds are comfy and sheets are clean and pillows are great! Our room had issues with wifi but that’s not the end of the world, as you have a great signal. Breakfast is amazing here buffet style and good food and options. Only down side is the cafeteria fills up fast on the weekend, and you can’t take your food to your room. Would be nice if there was an options for us to do that when the cafeteria gets filled up. Safe area as well. Staff are fantastic and answer any and all questions. Room lighting would benefit from warm lighting as well. Overall we love this hotel and will always stay here!! Keep it up.

Hidden Gem
This is an amazing location located just outside the main downtown area of St Augustine. The room was clean and spacious, the breakfast delicious with many options, and the service was excellent as well. The free shuttle bus was also a very nice and welcome surprise!

Pet-less in a pet friendly hotel
Our room (#275) was in a bldg where the rooms were being partially remodeled. We had trouble with the shower leaking onto the bathroom floor due to the shower curtain being way too short. The floors/rugs were dirty as our white socks were black. Breakfast was typical hotel fare, although the hot items were not self serve. Shuttle into historical district was a definite plus.
