The level of customer service at Retama was stellar. We had some VERY early mornings during our stay and they made sure we were taken care of. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
This place was great, they had someone come pick us up at the train station. Their breakfast was good as they offered to cook us an egg the way we like. Julio was amazing as he was very helpful and friendly. He offered to pack us lunch to take to Machu Picchu and they gave us a little gift before we left.
Hotel in itself is fine for a comfy stay, but what really stands out is how much staff cares about guests. They were lovely and made our stay very pleasant
The staff eas anazingly helpful. Great location as well.
Beautiful setting next to the river. An easy walk from the train station. Great breakfast included. Great service, they even toted all our group’s luggage to the train station for us. I will stay there in the future every time.
Friendly Staff that is always ready to provide assistance with a big smile.
We got scammed from this place. Either from hotels.com or Retama. After explaining that we double booked our room months before our trip, no one from booking.com or retama helped us get our money back. This cost us an extra 100 dollars that we couldn't afford. When we got to the hotel, they didn't care or help out in any way. Since we've left, no one has contacted us or tried to fix the problem. This has been going on for 3 months. I've never felt this ripped off or helpless. Either way, watch out for Retama and Viviana. Viviana actually lied to me by saying it would all be simply resolved. No calls, no emails, and no attempt has ever been made.
This was the best night of sleep we got while in Peru. It was truly magical. We opened the windows and could hear the river rushing by. The bed was comfortable; the flowers and chocolates on our bed were sweet. The receptionist at the front desk spoke English and went above and beyond for us; he was awake when we went to sleep and had our lunches ready to go for our hike at 5 in the morning. The hotel itself was very clean, the shower was hot with good pressure, and it was a very short walk to both restaurants and the hot springs. It is the opposite end of town from where the steps up to Machu Picchu is, though, I would recommend hiking to the hydro electric plant or the waterfall to get your bearings the day before Machu Picchu, if you have time. Although the lunch packed was sweet, the sandwich was minimal so our recommendation would be to bring some extra fruit or something of substance.
I had a great stay at Retama. I thought the staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice, room was clean and comfortable. I was extremely happy with my 3 nights there.
The staff was super nice. No elevator. Met us at the train station. Cute little town!!
