Vila Foz Hotel & SPA

Great location, just across from the promenade and ocean. Good restaurants within walking distance. Bus or trolley into Porto. Now for some negatives: Definitely not a 5-star. 4-Star at the most. This is a hotel still in training and trying to find it's feet. Breakfast is okay but could be better for a 5-Star. You have to book the ocean view rooms adjacent to the main property; however beware, rooms are small (too small for a 5-star) and are not sound proof. You will hear noisy neighbors. Food selection and service in the evenings could be better; again a hotel in training

Beautiful property and friendly, helpful staff. While the location is beautiful, distance from the city is a real drawback if you are looking to discover Porto. We would have liked to gone into the city for dinner, for instance, but were deterred by the fact that it took us 45 mins (not the advertised 20) to get back one evening due to some accidents on the main highway. This is probably not necessarily typical but happens often enough. Also, the higher end hotel restaurant, Vila Foz, was VERY disappointing in how they handled my veggie food request (just gave me an appetizer that just did not have the depth of a main as my main course .. forgiveable in a lesser place but really not when you are expecting a fine dining experience and have forewarned them .. on the plus side, the head waiter was extremely gracious). Overall, a solid experience.

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise. We were a little apprehensive due to the fact that it is fairly new, but we were blown away by the whole experience! Maria at reception was a dream, very knowledgeable and understanding of our needs. Philip was also very attentive. Jose in the bar area was very friendly and charming. The staff in the breakfast restaurant were also very kind and helpful, food was great too. The hotel itself was very quirky and unique with a lot of surprising touches. We love unconventional hotels where the design is creative and eclectic. A lot of thought and detail was put into designing this hotel. Whoever is behind this spectacular property has built a gem. We will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

It's every bit a 5 star hotel; what more can I say?

Fantastic hotel in great location whether you prefer the calm of the Atlantic coast or the bustle of Porto. Lovely rooms with great ocean views( best to ensure you take a sea view room). Hotel food was great - lower restaurant was better value. Service was excellent from reception to restaurant and bar staff. Spa and pool were quiet and very relaxing. It was an indoor pool but there was outside space to relax in the sun. Porto and the Atlantic coast are great places to visit - lots to see and do as well as great food particularly the seafood. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Positives - location, great breakfast service and choice of food, stylish room design and nice private balcony with great views of the sea. Negatives - Wifi didn't work in our room for the first day till we changed to the Manor House option. No clock in room, no plug for electric shaver or magnified shaving mirror in bathroom. We also found it odd that towels were hung up inside the shower unit so that your feet got wet again when hanging them up after drying!

This was the best property that I have ever stayed at! Beautiful rooms, great food, and extremely nice staff!

Beautiful place. Food was delicious. Room was lovely, with an amazing view of the water. Nothing to not love about this place.

This was a new hotel in theory 5 star so concerned as only opened 10 days ago. Well we were very pleased with our choice. The friendly service provided by the whole young team was some of the best i have seen. The facilities are also amazing and new sure there were a few small problems but the price we paid for a truely 5 star experience was worth it. Book a room with see view on higher floor
