![And here it is. The image setting I was hoping for. These beautiful totally wild horses in view of the ocean. I am so glad to have seen this. They never got any closer to the water than this. These two kindly allowed me to take a few photos of them on the dune above the beach while they grazed on small plants. Cumberland is a totally wild and beautiful place. You can hike the island for days and not see a single horse. Other times you can see a dozen or so. Patience was key and luck. If we didn't decide to hike back along the road instead of the beach we wouldn't have seen this. If we had stopped for lunch we wouldn't have seen them walking down the road. I can't wait till I go back and hope to see a few playing in the surf.](https://mediaim.expedia.com/destination/2/bcc5abdfe73c133eb68fcacdca600b0b.jpg?impolicy=fcrop&w=900&h=511&p=1&q=high)
