The hotel is listed as Newcastle under lyme but was at least 15 minutes into the countryside from the town.The location was nice but created an extra twenty minute or so drive for me.The rooms were clean and comfortable to an old but good standard.shower was hot and the food in th bar next door was very good .there is no lift so dragging luggage up […] stairs is a pain.If you want a nice quiet hotel in the country this is a very good hotel. Made to feel very welcome by friendly staff. They made good recommendations on the food which was excellent - a generous portion of homemade steak and kidney pie - just incredible. Roaring coal fire kept us all warm on a snowy winter night. Large comfortable bed, and a well cooked breakfast.

Stayed at this hotel for a wedding and was pleasantly surprised considering the cost. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the room was very comfortable and clean.

Rooms looking a bit tired and the bed needed a lift but the people are very friendly and obviously trying their utmost. Not much around but suited for me as I had to be in proximity of the hotel for a client meeting.

The hotel, bar & food quality is excellent. Set in a rural area with easy acess to motorway. Would reccomend this hotel if in the area. Our stay was only 1 night as we were travelling. Excellent value.

Found the room to be very spacious and comfortable, large separate bathroom with powerful shower. Some slight signs of wear but only to be expected with constant use. Found all staff to be warm and friendly, and freely willing to engage in conversation or give advice on both the Hotel and surroundings. This is a really excellent country hotel in a great setting. The staff are friendly in a homely way and the food in the Inn is very good. There was little to criticise and I would definitely recommend this to business users as its close to the M6 and A34.

Stayed for one night on a business trip and chose the hotel as it was close to a colleagues house. It's a nice country pub with a hotel added on, pretty location and very rural. I arrived to find nobody in the hotel reception, after about ten minutes I walked over to the pub where they had all my details....a little sign advising your guests to go to […] the pub would save ten frustrating minutes please. The room was nice and clean, spacious and felt fresh. The bathroom was equally spacious and clean. I didnt eat at the pub. Worth a visit if you fancy a different night to a mainstream hotel.
