My 9-year old daughter and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in October. We wanted an affordable but comfortable hotel not too far from the city centre (but not right in the city centre either) with a decent size pool and sauna. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and cosy feeling at the hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean, […] the pool facilities (included in the price) very very good (it's a y-club so there were people with membership cards there too, but it never got too crowded - we should know as we spent a lot of time there :-). The breakfast wasn't anything special, but then again we weren't able to compare it to another hotel breakfast in England so perhaps that was normal. We had dinner at the hotel one evening and it was very nice and good value. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. It was secluded enough so that there wasn't ay noice from the outside (none from other hotel guests either).The first day we walked into the city center and it took us about 20 minutes as we stopped to take pictures etc. later we noticed that there was a free shuttle bus into the center about 100 m from the hotel. There were other means of transportation very close by too, but we were happy with these two. All and all, we had a great stay and felt that the hotel offered great value for what we paid for it. Maybe not a 4 star hotel (although the pool facilities definitely were), but a very good 3 star hotel that I'd be happy to recommend and stay at another time. Lisätietoja

For the price if it I was very disappointed. My room had a very old uncomfortable bed and stained carpets. I would not stay again.

Perfect location for us by the canal, some wonderful restaurants (Twisted Med was impeccable) and across from the MOSI which is free and includes a great cafe. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff and good choice of buffet breakfast - as much as you like setup. We enjoyed free use of swiming pool too. Hotel is wonderful as 3 star rating. I could not accept the noisy room in 1. floor just above the heavy traffic in Liverpool Road. I had to protest twice before I was offered a room on the other side where the window had a defect in the locking mechanism so the noisy trains were disturbing. Will never came back to this hotel.

Friendly staff in a hotel that is beginning to fray around the edges. Within easy walking distance of museums, shopping, and dining, hotel is situated close to romantic canals, Roman ruins, and tastefully re-purposed industrial buildings. Good value, would definitely stay again.

Everything very good. just note that the parking is not free and chargeable for overnight parking - £9.

The staff were very helpful on arrival, the entrance was welcoming and festive. The rooms were basic but clean. The location very good. I would stay here again. The price was a little higher than I thought it should be but we did stay over a weekend when the Christmas markets and parties etc were on. My daughter & I spent two nights in The Castlefield Hotel but wished it was for longer. The Hotel staff were very nice & friendly too. We arrived in the dark but it is so easy to find from Deansgate Metro stop. Our room 306 on the third floor was so big & spotless. It also had a very large glistening bathroom. We had a street view & realised on the […] first night that we had a small view of part of the Corrie Set which being fans delighted us! The short 10/15 minute walk to city centre was very enjoyable (even in the rain). We passed lots of cafes, shops and bars on the way. The Spa was great to have but we only had time to use the lovely swimming pool & steam/sauna. Great before or after a long day shopping in the fantastic Shopping Centres in the Centre. If (when) we go back to Manchester we will definately stay in The Castlefield again. Only little complaint was that it was a little chilly in the reception area. Great location - but No signs to say if you park in car park you have to go round to the front of hotel - or you end up carrying your bags up one flight of stairs. Hotel staff could cheer up a bit and be more welcoming. If the room has stains on carpet - then either get professionally cleaned or get a new carpet.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

quiet loaction, uncomfortable bed , I think mattress was quite old and had sunk in one side, brown towels (came across this first time in any hotel) diffciult to say if they were clean, carpets are dated, location is good and staff is polite

Staff very helpful, location great, free metroshuttle stop just around the corner from hotel. Only bad point is Windows in room need replacing, wind was whisling through gaps in window. Great stay and would stay in Castlefield Hotel again when in Manchester.

Had a comfortable night. Large, clean room. Helpful staff. Conveniently placed. Enjoyed a relaxing swim and would have taken advantage of spa treatments if we had had more time.

The hotel is opposite the MOSI, and our room faced a working class heroic murial which was impressive and nice to wake up to. The hotel is a bit far from the city.Breakfast is rubbish (English fatty breakfast...VERY BAD QUALITY)However rooms are clean and quite modern.Overall experience was OK,however reception decided to give us a room for disable ppl,due to the fact of overbooking in the hotel.

My husband and I had a top time, lots going on and hotel was ideally situated.Shane at reception was friendly and welcoming, very shewd! and funny! Pauline from housekeeping was also helpful and accomadating and friendly.I will definately stay here again Great staff

room was still not ready for check in at 2pm even though we were told it would be. we had arrived at 11am as we were on a pamperday. staff were not very apologetic. massage was well worth money though.

Perfect location for getting into centre and area is quiet. The hotel staff are cheerful and helpful. The room was comfortable and kept very clean but is starting to look shabby as were some of the communal areas. MY father and I wanted to meet in Manchester to watch the Champions League final and wanted a relatively cheap room for the night at a convenient location. We booked a twin room at the Castlefield hotel and were not dissappointed. The room was very reasonably priced for the night, we were less than 500 metres from the city centre within easy reach […] of bars, pubs, restaurants, sights and shopping areas. The location itself was relatively quiet especially being so close to all the action. We arrived at 14:00 on the dot in time for check in but was told that we had to wait until 16:00 because the room was not ready. We stayed in the bar and watched a bit of football and golf until such time that we could check in and found the room to be in very good condition and very well appointed. We did not benefit from the hotels facilities but there were many and were freely available to guests such as the gym and swimming pool. Next time I go to Manchester I will most certainly stay at the Castlefield again and maybe bring my gym kit and swimming trunks. :D Lisätietoja

The rooms have been refurnbished recently and are smart and up to date. The advantage is their on site gym and pool which caters for members of the health club and to which hotel guests have full access. The carpark is locked between 10pm and i think it was 7am, and if theres only one night porter on you actually cant take your car out at night if you hope to keep it in the secure car park. however there is free on street parking 6pm-8am so not too big of a deal. the restaurant and gym close early on bank holidays so if you choose this place hoping […] to indulge, pick your dates carefully. possibility to order take out to the room though so not stranded. which is a good job really since you obviously cant drive anywhere! Nice hotel, good location, close to city centre, room very clean,hotel Has access to swimming pool sauna...good service and nice breakfast I will recommend the hotel with no doubt.

short stop over as working in the area, very nice hotel with great value food, excellent staff, only down side was 20 students running from room to room banging doors shut at midnight,all over here from NewZealand, but apart from that A1 from me.

We were there for a 2 night stay, on the 2nd night the light blew in our bathroom, and this was not fixed for the remainder of our stay....so total darkness while getting ready....not good!

Tæt på centrum, og ca. 45 min. gåafstand til Old trafford. Motionscenter og svømmehal var ikke specielt spændende, og hotellet virkede lidt slidt i det. Men venlig betjening, og alt i alt OK.

Trevligt beläget hotell på enkelt gångavstånd från city eller kort resa med stans gratisbussar. Fantastisk indisk restaurang (Akbar's) ligger 50 meter bort. Frukosten var väl sådär typiskt engelsk, alltså bacon och äggröra, korv och toast mm. Jag skulle gärna se lite naturell youghurt och ost som komplement till alla sötsaker. Jeg anbefaler Castelfield på det varmeste. Hotellet har enkle rom men med akkurat det du trenger for en tur med gutta. Rommene var reve og hadde det vi trengte. Bar og restaurant områedet var hyggelig og ikke minst var maten bra. Betjeningen var hjelpsome fra vi ankom til vi reiste. Etter og ha lest en del anmeldelser av dette hotellet på forhånd der det var en del delte meninger om hotellet visste vi ikke hva vi gikk til men ble positivt overasket. Rommene var store med god skap plass ,helt greie senger og det var rent og pent. Hotell personalet var alltid hjelpsom og hyggelig og maten i resturanten var meget god. Eneste store […] minuset var frokosten som kunne med små justeringer vært mye bedre.En fett engelsk frokost med klissete eggerøre og en klump bacon var stort sett det hele. Ingen annen pålegg var ute annet en noen små syltetøybegre. Bortsett fra frokosten var dette en god hotellopplevelse og vi kommer gjerne tilbake, fikk ikke testet ut spa fasilitetene fordi det var fullbooket allerede da vi kom så visst det er noen som vil benytte seg av det er det kansje smart og forhåndsbooke dette. Flott hotell å ha med seg barn på. Svømmehallen var fin, og kort vei til togstasjonen. Skysports nede i baren.

Fint hotel i centrum af Manchester...Tæt på alting 8 min i tog til Old trafford og 19 minutter til Reebok stadium... Dejligt at starte dagen med en svømmetur inden morgenmaden Bestemt et hotel jeg vil bruge, næste gang jeg skal til Manchester
