Sleeping Lady Mountain Resort - Leavenworth

Fanatic service, stunning scenery, super cute room, and definitely take advantage of the tasty Sunday brunch and a massage at the spa. Went with a group of girlfriends and none of us wanted to leave. We agreed this will be an annual getaway!

I love this resort. It's kind of funny calling it a 'resort' because it is so down-to-earth, but it has great amenities that are accessible no matter how few people are enjoying them with you. The grounds are beautiful and wandering around is almost as relaxing and peaceful as sitting in the sauna or hot pool. Leavenworth is a funny little town, and […] it's nice to stop by the 'Bavarian Village' for a sausage and a laugh, but then retreat back to Sleeping Lady for a hike up the knoll and a hippie snack at the cafe. Everything about our stay was wonderful from service, comfort, amenities, and especially food. Kingfisher was a culinary delight! We will definitely be back.

Nice place but very expensive for what you get.

The online pictures made the rooms seem huge but in fact they were very cramped and tiny. It is a long walk from the parking lot to the cabins. We had the loft cabin and the huge window was only partially covered. Early morning sun rise woke us up much too early!

We loved it. The restaurant and bar are such a treat. The sculptures are really fun to see.

Once again I so enjoyed the atmosphere of this whole environment based on Harriet Bullets' idea of combining the environment with art and fresh food even at the deli-cafe of O'Gradys! One drawback was to find out that there is no longer trolley service to town and back a few times a day. Coming on the train is a wonderful way to travel to Leavenworth, […] but without an easy way to go to town and back it does limit one's options. It won't stop me from coming again, however! The room we stayed in was very clean, cozy and cabin-like. It backed up to a beautiful scenic snow-covered mountain. The only complaint we had was that we found the bed to be very uncomfortable and therefore did not sleep well..

My husband and I went for our 1st Year Anniversary and had an absolutely wonderful time here. The lodge is perfect for a romantic getaway and for those who enjoy the outdoors and peace and tranquility. The restaurant is fabulous and maybe a little pricey for some but definitely worth it.

Arrived to the resort around noon, and was told that check in wasn't until 3 which was fine. They had some facilities that we could use to change in. Impressively, the floors in the restroom were heated. Very nice touch. Checked in right at 3 after a short snowshoe. I booked a loft room though there was only two of us. The room technically would've […] slept 4-5. There was a queen, a full and a single bed. The room definitely isn't what I would call spacious, but it was sufficient for the two of us. I got the loft mostly because I like vaulted ceilings. I didn't have any problems with either noise or sufficient heating like some of the other reviewers. Though, I think the cabin next door was empty. The room got plenty warm. The room was sufficiently if not well appointed. I always like to have a little mini fridge (which this room did not), but it wasn't a huge deal. I was a little disappointed with the hot pool and sauna. The hot pool was standing only. There wasn't any sort of built in bench or anything, so you either had to kneel in order to get the water up over your shoulders (and hope you're just the right height for that) or stand with half your body out of the water the whole time. The sauna was very small. Any more than 3-4 people in there and you best be very good friends. In the end, we didn't actually end up using either of them for those reasons. Also, it was a bit of a walk from our particular cabin. Not far, but I imagine, pretty cold once you're wet (on the way back) and the way was not always well lit, so we decided to just skip it. Overall, the stay was quite pleasant. Staff was nice and helpful. Didn't bring the dogs this time, but I like the fact that you can and they don't charge extra (which most other pet friendly places do). I will definitely stay again and would easily recommend it to others. One last thing, regarding booking. As I booked through hotels.com, I got the room only rate. Our stay was for the end of November. The location and surroundings were beautiful in 2 feet of snow. Having a summer camp feeling was quite nice for the setting. My 3 star rating is for several reasons. Reason #1 The room temperature never got warmer than 68 degrees with their radiator heater (that's one in the loft rooms). We had to have their maintenance […] man find a portable oil heater to supplement the heating. It took about 2 hours for our room to reach 72 degrees. Reason #2 The room service from their restaurant was not available to us. The first night we were their only guest so they closed the restaurant for that night and the next morning. We had no option to stay in our room and eat dinner or breakfast on either day we stayed. There were a few more people the 2nd night but they still didn't open since there wasn't enough people. I'm very glad I pack a cooler and drinks whenever we travel long distances just in emergency cases. Reason #3 was the description of the loft room was stairs up to the loft. It was a ladder up to the loft. We had to put the only chair in the room legs over the first rung of the ladder to keep our 18 month old from climbing it. It was not a very family friendly room. Most of all, I'd have to say the room temperature really knocked it down 2 stars out of 5. The staff set the rooms to 70 degrees but it never made it above 68 without help. We also didn't like the fact that their signs say they monitor the grounds at all times. So we want to know who was watching and doing nothing about the couple of people who were skinny dipping in the hot pool. My family (children 3 and younger) were heading up to the hot pool to check it out and see if we wanted to get in, since it was about 40 degrees out. When we were struggling to get the gate open I got a full on view of a very naked lady and her male companion as they jumped back into the hot pool! So there went the check it out trip with the kids. Excelled on all counts. Absolute 5 Star. Secluded, fabulous getaway. Can't recomment it highly enough.

We loved this hotel! The kids loved the pool and hot tub made of rocks. Jumping into the pool was like jumping off a cliff. It was saltwater instead of chlorine which was a lot easier on their eyes and skin as well. We didn't get a chance to use the restaurant but the menu looked fantastic; very healthy and fresh.

After staying a few nights in Seattle this was a nice retreat in the woods. We appreciated the uniqueness of the hotel and it's quiet surroundings. The rock pool was a huge hit for my 6 and 3 year old. The steps in the loft room were very steep for my young children, otherwise the room was comfortable and clean. My only complaint would be the food service. […] We arrived at our hotel later in the day and by the time we wanted to order pizza at the Grotto Bar they were out (not sure how you run out of your main menu item). This was well before closing and meant we had to pack 3 kids in the car again to find food in Leavenworth. The next morning at the Pantry they were also out of many food items listed on the menu. In my opinion if they are going to provide food at the resort they need to have a ready supply for guests. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again this winter. Lisätietoja

This place is absolutely amazing! The grounds are spacious and relaxing. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Any time we called for something, it's at our door within minutes. The buffet dinner is incredible. The salad bar is filled with wonderful looking and organic vegetables, beautifully done and unique. The dessert bar is to die for. We love Sleeping Lady lodge. The woodsy setting is fantastic, and so are the amenities -- pool, hot pool, game room, fitness center, library and more. It's becoming a family tradition.

We were a little disappointed when we arrived at the property because we didn't realize how "rustic" this place was (we were told it used to be some sort of teen campgrounds). We were even more disappointed when we walked into our room because it was so very small and cramped! I was fine with the idea of a loft, but the stairs to the loft are like ship […] stairs - almost completely vertical (I didn't feel like it was safe for the kids or the more senior adults). Very nice resort hotel located in Leavenworth. The hotel is a campground like setting with cottages in groups set up. I loved the pool and hot pool in its rustic setting. The room was nice with multiple heated towel racks. I was surprised there was no TV in the room but I found other things to do. The individual bathrobes in your room were also nice. […] I did not like how they blocked/filtered certain internet sites on their wifi (a little big brotherish). This was the most relaxing hotel/resort area I've ever stayed in. The registration desk was way above any other hotel that I've been to. They were helpful, friendly, and told us how/why they named the resort "The Sleeping Lady"! I will absolutely stay at this resort again. This is a must see area, and I cannot recommend it enough.

I loved this place and I would highly recommend it to a couple wanting a nice and quiet relaxing get away!

Wonderful clusters of cabin-like rooms in a peaceful wooded setting. Enjoyed watching the sun come up from the hot pool. Would definitely stay again - unique hotel experience!

The hotel was a nice place and being in the middle of the woods was amazing for us all. Our children loved the adventure of it all but Mom and Dad were not as thrilled. We loved the hiking capabilites but we would have loved maybe an indoor pool for those cold days. The room had a neat feeling with the way it was set up but not having a closet made […] the quarters seem small. The biggest disappointment was not having a small refrigerator. Having small children and eating out 3 x a day can get costly. We try to be an economical family and the hotel made it hard at $40. a person for their buffet and $16 a child. Beautiful Resort overall. 64 acres of beautiful surrounding sights. Room was small but met our needs. No TV in rooms so be prepared. Wonderful game room available to help keep you entertained. Staff can be overly controlling. You can't build your own campfire, maintenance must do it for you, however, they were unqualified to build a fire, as hard as […] that is to believe. Went with four teenagers. It was great because they could hike, go to game room. Having the loft worked well for separating the group..so we didn't feel imposed on one another.

I was very pleased with the modern cabin accommodations. But the food at the buffet was fantastic! It wasn't your typical buffet with mass amounts of food, it had high quality food cooked to perfection, then plated up as if you were white table cloth fine dinning restaurant. This is clearly the best place to stay if you are going to Leavenworth, Washington. It is located slightly out of the kitsch of downtown, but within easy driving distance. (less than 8 minutes from property to downtown- and there is a trolley 4 times a day.) The Sleeping Lady has an organic/ artsy feel in a very upscale way. It is composed of separate […] small clusters of upscale cabins. You will feel as uf you have the property to yourselves. A short walk down the well groomed path from our loft/cabin, and we arrived at the " library" building filled with local conservation/ environmental picture books as well as lovely vintage editions of popular novels. Also here, we found a lovely antique piano which my son played while the rest of us played a game of cards. Nearby is the "Playhouse" building, with it's lovely pool table, ping-ping table and foosball tables. We took full advantage of the pool table, and rarely encountered other guests there when we arrived to play. The property has a wonderful collection of first quality outdoor art installations by various artists. Some, are quite famous. ( Such as the beautiful glass art installation by Dale Chihully). The Sleeping Lady is definitely an experience. It is nestled in the Cascade Mountains so the scenery is amazing. The Sleeping Lady also has a spa, stage, bar and recital hall. I took my mother here because the rooms have wood / linoleum floors-there are no carpets which can be bad for traveling people with asthma. The rooms have a sophisticated rustic […] charm. The only bad things that I have to say are that if you have noisy neighbors-that you can hear them. Ask for a fan. If you go during certain times (I was there in March) that there is a lot of ice on the paths. My mother had a hip replacement recently, so I had to have a good hold on her as we went to and fro. A winter wonderland-it snowed before and during our stay. The cabins are warm and cozy. We ate at the pantry every morning of our stay. The food was delicious, fresh, and reasonable. Unique experience in the woods. Two nights. Enjoyed the Grotto Bar steps away from our loft. The outdoor hot pool was spacious, accommodating several families. Delicious dinner, with a variety of salads, entrees, and desserts. The loft was cozy for our family of four.

Beautiful grounds and room, but the walls must be really thin and we didn't get a good night's sleep as a result. The resort was virtually empty, yet they placed us next to other visitors who had their radios on all night (no TVs in the room - not a problem for us), a waterfall with a noisy engine and the noise of "The Grotto" bar and it's visitors. […] We'll go back to give it a second try as it was beautiful and in a great location, but not for a third visit if it's loud again. When you pull into the driveway of this resort, it is hard to tell what awaits you. That is until you walk to your room. The beautiful, rustic charm instantly draws you in. It almost felt like being a kid going to summer camp! And that is exactly how the kids felt. The pool is open 24 hours, there is a game room, library, bar, spa, and restaurant on […] site. It was very serene to sit in the hot pool at night and gaze up at the stars. The kids loved the pool and exploring the surrounding grounds, including watching the deer. If you are looking for someplace with televisions in the rooms, you won't find them here. The atmosphere is meant to afford you a close relationship with nature. This resort is close to downtown Leavenworth and the Icicle Canyon. There is plenty to see and do. The on-site restaurant is elegant. I was skeptical because of the price but knowing what I know now I would gladly pay much more. Its a wonderful place.

For being a last minute find, this place was a gem! The property is beautiful and I enjoyed the look of the cabins themselves. My husband was disapointed that there wasn't a TV in the room, but I was okay with that. I do wish that there had been a refridgerator, but that was a small flaw in an otherwise great trip. Great resort in an beautiful setting. The clusters of cabins made it seem like we were camping, luxury camping. My son really enjoyed his bedroom in the loft. Beds were comfy and we all loved the towel warmers in the bathroom!
