Excellent location for both public transportation and city walks in a lively neighborhood with nice eateries. Last time I was on 32nd and 5th, which is better for shopping, the 23rd and 7th was a nicer location to blend in w/ the locals. The hotel is a bit run down but well worth the money. Bathrooms were clean, beds were ok to sleep in & no bed bugs. […] The only problem was the noisy ac. I could not have slept without ear plugs. Bad sleepers beware the summer heat at the Chelsea Savoy. One of us sleeping without ear plugs also mentioned that there was some noise from other rooms as the walls are not that thick. We probably made some nighttime noise, too, walking home at midnight and taking a shower, since the water piping and the tub made some whistle & rumble. The breakfast w/ coffee & bagels worked for us, we bought fruits from the next corner grocery shop. The easy & quick connection from/to JFK by the subway was a nice surprise since one of us had bad experiences of getting stuck in the NY traffic by taxi. Lisätietoja

The hotel's location is great, close to subways and restaurants. The "breakfast" is no such thing: brown water that should have been coffee and a roll. Thankfully, plenty of eateries were nearby. If there was a coffee maker in the room, it would have been perfect. But overall we were satisfied with the room and hotel.

The Chelsea Savoy is an efficiently run, competitively price, clean and comfortable with good cable tv and ideally place near three subway tracks for sight-seeing. There are good moderately priced eateries and bars in this neighborhood of Chelsea.

Any visitor to NYC must realize that the rooms are smaller than the newer or more traditional hotels in the west or south. Once the visitor realizes that fact, the room was clean, very comfortable beds, and excellent access to two of the main subway routes at each end of the block. In addition, there are three or four nice resturants within a minute […] or two of the front door. From this location, by subway, almost any location in Manhattan is less than 15 minutes away. This included trips to Battery Park - WTC, Brooklyn, and Central Park/Broadyway. About a 20 -30 minute ride from JFK by taxi. For the price and location, hard to find a better deal. Lisätietoja

I didn't get as good as the reviews say. I room I got has no views and the carpet has got some kind of odor. I expected a better quality.

The hotel was clean and really worth the money.

Great hotel and very comfortable. Good being able to go to the breakfast room each morning and bring tea, coffee and croissants to the room while everyone got ready and it was included in the price. Only downer was the reception staff could have been a bit more friendly.

As others have noted, the Savoy is a value hotel. Originally we wanted to stay in midtown, but hotels there are very expensive. 23rd and 7th turned out to be a good central location between midtown and the Village. There was occasional traffic noise, but it's on a main corner. The beds were small and could have been more comfortable. Great hot water in the shower! Three friends and I had a great stay at the Chelsea Savoy. It was a close walk to the Empire State Building and the CUNY graduate center (where our conference was held). We were also able to walk easily to the Village for evening entertainment. Don't bother with the continental breakfast; rather, take yourself to the Doughnut Plant just a few doors […] down 23rd. The staff was courteous and quick, getting us additional towels when requested. The room was clean and well-appointed, with lots of room for plugging in various electronics, enough hangars for 4 women to hang 3 days of conference attire each (!!), and a small fridge. It was bigger than we expected, though, admittedly, we didn't spend much time in it. We were in the back of the hotel, and heard virtually no noise from the street. The only small issue we had was with the shower head. The spray was far too strong, and there was no way to adjust it. To be fair, though, we didn't tell the staff about it, so I can't really complain. Overall, a great experience, and we would definitely consider staying there again in the future. Lisätietoja

Room was GREAT, best hot shower ever, clean, comfortable and great location. No complaints! Definitely would stay at the Chelsea Savoy again. Only thing that would make it better is if the lobby bar would have been open, but other than that, no issues or problems.

Room was much larger than we expected. Quite a hike to attractions we wanted to see. Were there at Christmas so had tickets to Radio City, went to Rockefeller Center, etc. Great little saloon next door and good breakfast across the street.

We stayed here with our 8 month old. We wanted to stay in the city to see the Christmas sights. The staff was friendly and helpful. They provided us with a porta crib and bedding without an issue. We've traveled through Europe and the US with our daughter and we were provided with everything we've come to expect. The room wasn't large but the crib fit […] easily and we were able to walk around it. It's always nice to not have the crib pressed against the bed. Excellent location right on subway line, clean restrooms, comfortable and pleasant staff.

If you are looking for a regular room close enough to do some shopping, than this one might be right. I personally like hotels with a bit more charm and staff that is attentive and engaging and who can recommend restaurants close by (which they couldn't), Noise level can be high as it is at the corner of 23rd/7th, but I wasn't disturbed by that.

In NYC for an overnighter and booked this hotel after reading the reviews. Asked for and received a room facing the back of the hotel, which was super quiet. I can see how street facing rooms can absorb more noise at the intersection of 23rd and 7th, but it depends on the timing of your check-in. Perfect spot for those seeking an excellent location, wonderful location --subway and bus at the front door! Amazing Chelsea with all its restaurants and clubs right there! An easy walk or five minute subway ride to Times Square and theatre district. Rooms are spotless, huge by NYC standards but very minimally decorated. Beds were quite comfortable […] and flat screen TV's a plus. Included continental breakfast is just OK but Papaya King is across the road which can't be beat for amazing breakfast or hot dog snacks 24/7. Mine was a one-night stay, for which the hotel was well suited. I was after economy. I wish I had been able to book into one of the less expensive rooms, but I booked late. The "continental breakfast" consisted of a roll and coffee only. There was a good sized desk but no comfortable chair. Still, I don't really have any complaints.

The hotel is within easy walking distance to our favorite restaurant (The Dish), gay shopping (especially at Rainbows and Triangles), and evening "entertainment" (Rawhide). We walk to the train station, to Broadway shows, and as far as 50th Street to the New World Stages. Greenwich Village is also an easy destination.

The hotel is fairly low budget (check out comparable rates) with helpful, friendly service. The location is close to subway lines and within walking distance of several attractions, such as the Flatiron Building and the Highline. Clean, except for one smelly elevator during our visit. I would stay there again.

The Chelsea Savoy was perfectly located for our weekend plans..subway outside the door to go Uptown or South, easy walking distance to Union Sq Green Market, Chelsea Market/Meat Packing district and a couple doors from the gourmet Doughnut Plant! Only complaint was the street noise since our room was on the 2nd floor facing 7th Avenue. Request an interior […] room on a higher floor for quiet sleep. Overall Hotel Savoy was a great choice, it had the added bonus of the subway on the corner so consequently I was out an about most of the time. The rooms are big enough, rooms at front of hotel noisy, however staff accommodated a move to a quiter room with minimum fuss. Would definately stay again. R

If you just need a clean, safe place to sleep and don't mind street noise, this hotel is fine. Room fan helps block noise. Nice big screen TV. The rest of the room is generic but clean and functional.

The Chelsea Savoy is on the corner of W 23rd and 7th Ave, right next to the 1-line subway. That means real convenience for getting round the city. There are a number of restaurants including some all night ones nearby. The rooms are clean, nothing very fancy, but pleasant. The area was very convenient. Lots of good restaurants walking distance from hotel. The staff was friendly and breakfast was simple and good for the business traveler. The only thing I would recommend is coffee inside the rooms. Other than that, I would return.

My friend and I shared a room in this hotel for a visit to the Martha Stewart show the following morning. Our Prime use was to have a clean,comfortable room to spend the night. It fit the bill ! We also got a reasonable price to share. It was only 3 blocks from the studio, next door to a "Saloon" for a night cap and many, many great places to eat . […] Our room was in the back part of the hotel , so it was very quiet. Clean, reasonable rates & conveniently located

I was here for 8 nights. I was lucky to get a room with an interior view so I had no street noise at night. The room had two double beds and was OK in size and was clean. The staff were not overly friendly but I only dealt with them twice and they were OK. I do have two issues: the bed mattress was very hard and uncomfortable since it is supported by […] wood rather than an under mattress; and there was quite a small amount of water that came out of the showerhead -- I really had to run the water for a while to make sure that I got rinsed off properly.
