We were 9 days in hotel Butterfly in july 2011. The hotel was a positive surprise, as we thought it wouldnt be on the beach (hotels.com map shows there is a distance to the beach). However, the hotel is right on the beach and the beach is actually a very nice, white sand, "private" beach. And if that is too small, there are other beaches just nearby. Hotel staff was nice and the hotel has a swimming pool plus 4 swirlpools, where it's nice to relax etc. loads of sunbeds aswell and you are able to move them to the beach. There is a restaurant at the hotel, where they have different menus lunchtime and dinnertime etc. We didnt have breakfast included, so we didnt eat the breakfast at the hotel as it would have been really expensive. I would like to also mention, that there werent really any restaurants nearby, except maybe a few.. and a nice chinese restaurant across the street. Hotel is perfectly situated if you want to enjoy laying in the sun and swimming in the perfect light-blue caribbean sea. But as I said, you need to take a taxi or a bus to get to restaurants or night-life (there is a gentemans club across the street aswell). Oistin's mall is like 1 km away, so you can easily walk there, though. Our hotel room had everything we needed. We bought groseries and made breakfast there ourselves. If you are very sensitive to noise, you might be disturbed by neighbour rooms tv or the sound from the street. There are a lot of things to do in Barbados (cruises, snorkling, adventure trips), and the hotel staff can help you with those. I would recommend this hotel :)

I was very pleased to Allamanda Beach hotel. The hotel really exceeded my expectations. Service was very good and helpful and the beach was only few meter from the hotel which was very nice. Room was big and it was cleaned and the towels was changed every day. Bustop to Bridgetown was just at front of the hotel.

"Attitude of staff at Reception was appaling"
I forgot 2 bottles of very expensive rum in the Airport Taxi,I informed hotel staff of this,and they promised to get my rum back for me,however, each time I tried to get information concerning the progress of this,staff kept making excuses.On the morning before checkout the taxi driver came to the hotel to drop off the rum,there he told me that he had […] brought it shortly after discovering it and staff at the front desk said they weren't aware of me or the rum. Also on checking in I was promised two twin beds for myself and the two children I was travelling with,instead I got two single beds and one of the children volunteered to sleep on the floor as the bed was too small to sleep on with his brother. For a checkout four hours later than the time stipulated I was charged $100US,during this time whilst trying to rest for my longhaul flight I was subjected to continuos noise from building works goin on outside,after complaining four times and paying for the extra time I was reluctantly removed to a noise free environment. "Coral Mist in Barbados"
Nice room right on beach, close to stores, on bus line and taxi lines. Only drawback, we needed taxi at 4am and they did not show up. The hotel had to call 3 different ones and a taxi finally showed up 45 min later. Luckily we still made our flight out - or maybe not - it was cold and rainy when we got home!

"Memorial Day Weekend at Coral Mist"
Coral Mist was a fresh breath of air from the usual franchise hotels. The view from our suite was breathtaking..I miss it already. The beach was just steps away and the water was fantastic. Barbados has a very laid back feel with yummy grilled fresh fish and west indian food. I was extremely pleased with my stay and found the value to be excellent.
