Kahden hengen huone jaetulla kylppärillä. Yllätyimme miten siisti huone oli. Vuodevaatteita ei kuitenkaan vaihdettu tai edes pedattu kertaakaan visiitimme aikana. Suihkun vettä oli vaikea saada sopivan lämpöiseksi. Suppea aamiainen mutta menetteli. Palvelu muuten ok, 24/7, mutta olin todella pettynyt langattomaan nettiin. Se oli maksullista eikä edes […] toiminut ylimmissä kerroksissa. Usean yrityksen ja valituksen jälkeen sain kuitenkin siitä rahat takaisin. Ilmeisesti henkilökunta oli tietoinen ettei netti toimi ylimmissä kerroksissa mutta myivät sen kuitenkin huomauttamatta asiasta. Hotelli sopi täydellisesti tarkoitukseensa. Matkustin yksin, joten olin varannut sängyn 4 hengen Backpackers -huoneesta. Huone ei kuitenkaan ollut lainkaan hostellimainen vaan jokaisella oli omat, erittäin mukavat ja sopivan kokoiset sängyt. Jos kuitenkin kaipaa yksityisyyttä ja oma rauhaa, ei kannata valita tätä majoitusmuotoa. Ilmapiiri hotellissa […] oli myös mukava. Paljon perheitä, aikuisia sinkkuja ja pariskuntia, vähemmän nuorisoa. Yhteiset kylpyhuoneet sijaitsivat aivan huoneen läheisyydessä. Ne olivat majoituksen huonoin puoli, sillä niiden siistinä pysyminen näytti olevan varsin haastavaa. Jopa heti siivouksen jälkeen vaikutti ettei niitä ollut siistitty kunnolla. Hintaan kuuluvasta aamupalasta on turha odotella mitään kovin kummallista. Siihen kuului lähinnä muroja, paahtoleipää ja croissantteja sekä kahvia ja teetä. Leivän päälle vaihtoehtoina olivat ainoastaan marmelaadit, hunaja tai maapähkinävoi. Mitään tuoretta ei siis tarjota. Hotellin henkilökunta oli erittäin ystävällistä ja avuliasta. Tosin ehkä vähän liiankin, kun hotellin vastaanottaja pyysi lähtemään daamikseen ystävänsä häihin... Työmoraali kohdallaan! Erinomainen sijainti ja hinta-laatusuhde. Huone oli siisti (vaikkakin pienehkö) ja huoneesta löytyi kaikki tarpeellinen. Suhteellisen nopea langaton netti huoneissa myös plussaa. We stayed in a budget room with a bathroom at the hallway (not all rooms are like that), which I thought would be straining, but it worked out very well and the toilets and the showers were very clean and right next to the rooms. Siisti perushotelli Hyde Parkin vieressä Sydneyssä. Kävelymatkan päässä kaikkia tärkeitä nähtävyyksiä. I put the overall rating as a 4 simply because the price seems a bit high for the size of room being a "shared bathroom" situation. I'm not from Australia, much less Sydney, so maybe this is the norm. Also there were some "advertizing" issues. 1) There was advertizing that a round-trip shuttle was provided by the hotel for a fee. NO. The same shuttle […] is available to everyone from the airport for only a $2 difference. So it's not a hotel shuttle which would save time, but an airport shuttle service which travels a circuit of stops and hotels. 2) Communication as to what's included for breakfast was not quite what I expected, but it was still and acceptable breakfast. excellent value for money, good position and service was good, including giving us a room at 7.30 am as one was available.

Location was excellent, the first room was very moldy but getting another room was easy, telling the staff about the mold you could tell they knew about and still they're giving the room to clients... Even though breakfast was included, they should have mentioned that they only offer white bread, croissants and some cereal, any brekkie additions like […] fruits, eggs and such cost you money. We also got unnecessary noise complaints from the reception even though we weren't any louder than any other customers. The reception should have made sure if we were loud before giving a complaint. I understand that this was a hostel, but the room had a musty smell and its did not feel clean. The staff were curt and unfriendly. It was good for the location. Nothing else.

Great location and for the amount we paid, i dont think we could have found a better deal! Would definately go back.

The location is superb. Right across from Hyde Park and a few blocks from major touristy attractions. I had a room for two nights with four single beds to share with other female travelers. Simple room with great location. Overall good value if all you need is a decent room to explore the city.

We loved staying in this hotel, it has excellent location to all the sights, with the bus stop just outside. The breakfast was lovely. I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean. Room very small tho only just enough room to walk around the bed. Cleaness makes up for it tho. Not a far walk to shops. And about a 15 minute walk to darling harbour

Great value for the price, small, clean and comfortable room, and walking distance to all the great sites of Sydney. I'm defenatly staying there again next time I'm in town.

Due to my 22-year old son, who stayed at the hotel, this was a very clean and good Hotel with good, understanding and kind staff.....

excellent location, close to train line for those who have trouble walking. Unfortunately, they advertise King beds but they are actually 2 singles pushed together. Not very comfortable for those who like to sleep in the middle of the bed!

I was a little nervous about using this hotel b/c I did everything online and b/c I was a female traveling solo - I didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival, my worries were quickly put to rest! The hotel is ideally located to everything I wanted to see, the rooms were clean and the whole facility is very well maintained. The desk staff were awesome […] - very friendly and helpful and had answers to all of my questions. I had a room with a (quite comfy) double bed and used the shared facilities. I wasn't impressed with the shared bathroom (think: girls locker room), but it seemed pretty clean, just out-dated. I don't think there were many other girls using the bathroom b/c I had it to myself quite a lot which was nice. The internet was useful (although maybe a bit pricey - but it was convenient) and the hotel to airport service was fabulous and saved me money and the stress of using a cab or the subway. The breakfast was basic (with an upgrade available for a small fee) but filling. I plan on absolutely returning to this hotel in the future (although maybe I would get an en suite room so I didn't have to use the shared bathroom). Just returned from a great stay at this hotel. We opted for a double room with shared bathroom and found it to be a great value option in an excellent location in Sydney. From here you can catch a train to all the major sights, take a reasonable walk to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and there are loads of restaurants and parks nearby for entertainment. […] The hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are a good size and comfortable (great that you can open the windows and not have to rely on air con, for a change!). A continental breakfast is included, and it can be topped up to a cooked brekkie for $5 - you won't get anything that cheap in the rest of Sydney!! Close to all sights! Very nice hotel.

Excellent location and okay breakfast included. The shared bathrooms were however like an airport toilett so you have to be able to stand the sound of sonebody doin' nr 2 while you are brushing your teeth. is more a hotel than a hostel.... with breakfast... lobby is not very kicking... but hotel is calm , nice and clean

Was very central location. Walking distance to many sights. Unfortunately air conditioning was not working properly and we had very mild nights, so it made sleeping a bit uncomfortable.

As a budget hotel, this is OK. However, I wasn't expecting shared bathrooms to be hostel-like.

Sydney is clearly an expensive city these days. You don't get a whole lot for the money at the Y. The hotel is mostly geared to budget travel and student groups. Location is good, close to train station and everything is walkable. Rooms are small, inexpensively furnished and bathrooms are basic.

Good location with delicious breakfast

We were very surprised with the comfort of this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend to others when staying in Sydney. Being pensioners we found everything we needed.

Great hotel, good prices, very comfortable beds and decent breakfast.

This hotel is conveniently located next to the train/bus station so it makes it easy to get around and see Sydney. Our room was fine, a little small, but we were hardly ever in it. Everything seemed clean and we had access to a washer/dryer on our floor which was nice. They have complimentary cold breakfast every morning and you can add hot breakfast […] for $5. Well worth it if you have a busy day ahead of you. The hotel is also next to Hyde Park which is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon. The only thing that was disappointing is there is no free airport shuttle and even if you are willing to pay the cost of the shuttle, it doesn't come before six am. This was great basic accommodation for us as a family of four. The room we were in was a dormitory which was not as spacious as we'd have liked but manageable. The beds were very comfortable.The shared shower and toilet facilities were ok and there was never any need to wait. The basic breakfast was adequate and there was the option to pay extra for […] a hot breakfast. The location was the best part of our stay, very central, fantastic. The hotel is well placed for easy access to Circular Quay (essential for tourism), Botanical Gardens, Darling Harbour, Musems (of Sydney and Australian). Area is the CBD, so had to walk a bit to get to restaurants, bars etc, but this was no problem and very quick - benefit was a quiet environment and good night sleep. Hotel looks smart, and clean. This is a great location but a bit pricy for what you get. There is a microwave and fridge which is nice. The window/door only opens a few inches.

The Y hotel Hyde park is in an excellent location .It is a 5 minute walk from 'Museum' train station that is on direct route from Sydney airport. I arrived at the hotel from the US at 7.00am. As my room (single deluxe) was ready I was allowed to check in- this courtesy was very welcome as I could have a shower before starting my day of sightseeing. […] The hotel is in a very central location I walked to all the major sights. My room was clean, had all that a traveler needed- TV, coffee/tea maker, hairdryer, toiletry supplies etc. I had my own bathroom, which was clean and adequate for my needs. The complementary breakfast was very good, the upgrade cooked breakfast excellent value. I highly recommend this low budget hotel - for what I paid for the room, it exceeded my expectations.
