Everything in Bangalore is spread out and most of your destinations will require a cab ride. We engaged a hotel driver for 8 hours a day for three days... and 4 hours on the last day. We were satisfied with the drivers and the service. Be sure you have the hotel number on hand when you get a cab at the airport; none of the cab divers knew where the hotel was and I had a printout with all of the info. We still had to use my cell phone to call the hotel for directions. I recommend staying on the Scandinavian floor as it is brighter with better views. I was on the Manhattan floor but the room had minimal natural light and I could not adjust to the time change. When I mentioned the lack of light, the hotel staff moved my room without hesitation. Also, I did not have hot water one morning but the front desk had someone come and fix it right away.
