Riad Pachavana - Marrakech

This hotel was excellent - small, friendly and relaxing. Antonio, the Manager, was very helpful and Hasan the driver fun and always there for you. I definitely recommend booking the driver to take you from airport to Riad on arrival as its quite complicated to find if you haven't been there before. Lovely Riad very well maintained. But if you are British then don’t expect a warm welcome you expect or hear about when staying at a Riad. At times the hosts avoided saying hello to us, it felt like we were staying at a hotel it was very impersonal. If it was not for their helpful friendly staff I would have given it even lower rating. We had an issue […] with our bathroom and for that they comp'd our round trip transfer to the airport, which was nice of them. However I would never stay here again or recommend to anyone else, which is a shame as it was a nice place and it had air con, which a lot of Riad don’t have during the cold winter nights is a must. Ble hentet på flyplassen og guidet til hotellet. En riad som hentet fra 1001 natt. Nydelig mat, god service og topp takterrasse med utsikt til de snedekte Atlasfjellene, utmerket for morgenyoga. Brukte litt tid for å orientere oss å finne hjem, men etterhvert gikk det fint. Utmerket beliggenhet.

Le riad est absolument magnifique. La décoration est de très bon goût est donne une impression générale de luxe. La chambre est très grande, le lit confortable, la salle de bain grande avec divers produits mis à disposition, des peignoirs, etc. L'acccueil était sympathique. Le dernier jour, on nous a laissé utiliser la chambre jusqu'à notre départ à […] 15h, ce que nous avons apprécié. En revanche, le quartier n'est pas le plus sympa de Marrakech. Aucun problème niveau sécurtié, mais les habitants sont plus insistants qu'ailleurs pour vous "guider" et vous réclamer de l'argent. We just got back from a week in Marrakech, and could hardly be more satisfied with the choice of lodging. Staying in the Medina was a wonderful experience, and while the streets were somewhat charmingly chaotic and way hot (went in August), the riad was quiet, cooler and esthetically amazing.It is small enough to get a personal, intimate feeling, yet […] the people working there are by all means professional and nice. In combination with the music played, this made the riad one of the most relaxing places I have ever been. Even after seeing the photos on their website we were positively surprised by the look of the riad. Breakfast was served precicely at "whenever you feel like getting up", and consisted of the best yoghurt I have ever tasted, fresh orange juice, baguettes, coffe, jams and a little something-something warm and sweet and typically moroccan which changed by the day. The roof terrace and lounges were all wonderful, and the pool was an excellent way to restore oneself after a day of walking around the medina. If desirable, one may have dinner at the riad. The two times we had it it was a good, 3-course typically morroccan experience. Wine is served, and service is good. You may also at any time request refreshments from the kitchen. The airport transfer was a delightful surprise, and made everything a lot easier for us. Upon arrival, we were served dates and juice, and dinner was prepared before we got a map and directions on how to find the hotel and the major sights, how to get around and other general tips. The riad organized trips for us - both to the Atlas mountains and Essauira. We got a personal driver and also guide to the former place. While the price was higher than it would have been if we had gone with public transport, it was most definitely worth it - they fixed everything for us.
