I upgraded my room while booking so that I would have a window... never got one. The location is ok. It's really close the the Bund but the closest subway is a bit further, 10-15min walk. Staff is kind of rude and the breakfast is not included. Good place if you just want to spend a night somewhere.

I spent 6 nights at the hotel it was at best average. The first room had a wall for a view, the second room was a little better the third was accepatable.The food was not the best and the english description of the dish did not describe what the food was. Most of the staff were helpfull & the location was good.I would not use this hotel again

Hotel is a block from the Bund and 2 blocks from the subway. It was small, convenient and clean. I booked with free breakfast, but the hotel refused until I showed my online booking receipt from Hotels.com. They provided the breakfast coupon without any other issues and it was a better than average Chinese hotel breakfast. I'll stay here again.

Apart from an un-vacuumed floor, the room was classy and very clean. Close to Bund and Line 2. Very good for a 1-2 night stopover/layover.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel, close to the Bund Promenade, to the Ferry and shopping area. I would say the only bad thing is not having a window in our room; but overall is a good hotel with a nice and cheap buffet breakfast and on a great location

Nice hotel with big rooms and good bathrooms Don't be fooled by the garden rooms, they mean terrace. The view was into a hospital? We booked three rooms, and discovered that each room looks a bit different. Ours looked like your average Motel 6, while another looked a little classier (different wall materials, more spacious bathrooms). I chose this hotel for myself and traveling companions based on reviews and am happy that I did. The hotel seems to be fairly recently renovated and is kept quite clean. I used to work for a well known 5star hotel chain so my standards tend to be quite high. Short alleyway to get to hotel, you pass old building with interesting characters. Lobby nice but confusing, no signs. Hotel is located in a disgusting area, dirty and noisy. Don't let the prior posts fool you as they did me. Just because its within walking distance from a subway station does not justify the disgusting surrounding area. Do yourself a favour. Stay further out of town, and take a taxi. When considering whether to stay here, I had some concerns. 1) Would the hotel, way off in China, recognize my prepaid reservation through hotels.com? 2) Would the room be a tiny, uncomfortable cell? 3) Would the bathroom be down the hall and shared? 4) Would there be air conditioning? (They did take a credit card impression as a deposit, which was voided on checkout) The room was fantastic: huge king bed, not hard at all. (Whoever complains about hard beds must sleep on a water bed at home. I found it comfortable.) Huge (personal) bathroom with a nice shower. Air conditioning worked great. After a long day of walking around Shanghai and sweating, this place was a paradise. Wifi worked great. There was a computer already in the room; not sure if all rooms have them. Minor issue: the window looked out at a wall. No view. In the hallway hung some nice art. Elevator slow, but never a long wait. Long line at checkout if you try to do that at 9 am. I asked for 12 p.m. checkout, which they granted easily, and had no line. I did not eat at the restaurant, but didn't like what I saw on the menu for breakfast. (I walked down the street a bit and found vendors cooking some good scallion pancakes with eggs.) Note: Hotel is off the street. You have to walk down an alley to reach the building. I thought it was not very comfortable at all. I had to ask every request numerous times, the hotel smelt like a soiled bathroon every where you went and there really was one right at the lobby inside of the restaurant. This is a very well located hotel since the Bund and Nanjing Street are both 10 min walk away. As others have said, it has a very good location, able to walk to the bund and Nanjing road from the hotel. Others have pointed out that it is also tucked inside an alley. Fortunately, there was the hotel's signage at the front of the alley, so we were able to see which alley it was.

This hotel is in a great location, very clean and rooms very comfortable. The important things were right...it was clean, good shower and bathroom (but without a mirror in the bathroom which is a bit of a pain) comfortable bed and they supply slippers and a robe. Tv has very little in term of english channels, 1, I think but then you spend such little […] time in your room it didn't matter. There are safes in the rooms for your valuables. Staff at the desk aren't overly helpful and will actually ignore you if you approach the desk and just politely wait until they come to you. The hotel is close to the bund, about 8 minutes walking distance. It's about 15 minutes walk to Nanjing road the shopping district and where you can get the metro from. We walked to the hotel in about 20mins with our backpacks on from the metro station. I just got back from Shanghai and stayed at the hotel for 14days. The rooms were excellent not like everyone says , i.e. small it was 20ft x 15 that's bigger than my bedroom and didnt include the bathroom area. The beds were hard like everyone says but comfortable. The food was actually pretty good. the only thing i recommend is including it in your […] booking as it works out cheaper than 35rmb everyday. The internet is slow but not unbearable. Room decor - great, and im a designer so that means alot. The food was a bit oily but not unbearable. Excellent location to stay in Shanghai. Only 3 mins walk to The Bund, 5 mins walk to East Nanjing Road n 10 mins walk to Cheng Huang Miao ( Shanghai City God Temple). Try Shanghai Grandmother Restaurant located near this hotel as it serves delicious Chinese dishes at an affordable price.

Very nice hotel in a very convenient location. Just a short walk to Nanjing Pedestrian Shopping Street and the Bund. Within walking distance of Yu Yuan Gardens. If you don't know Chinese, it's sometimes difficult to get your point across, but the staff is quite friendly and helpful. Have stayed here 3 times and would recommend.

Stayed here for 7 nights in early December Great hotel 1 block away from the bund. It is located 3 blocks away from Nanjing Rd East Metro which makes commuting around Shanghai extremely convenient. The hotel itself is tucked inside an alley so is a little hard to find initially. But once you enter the alley it opens up to a large hotel front. Some […] reviewers have said the area is not the best.... with some traffic noise, beggars outside on the street (Fuzhou rd)... well that is simply Shanghai! It is like that everywhere. The area in fact very secure and with the road being one way does not get much traffic at all in the night. Also <100meters from the hotel is a famous Jazz bar playing daily, breakfast is convenient at the multitude of eateries outside and Shanghai bank is opposite for convenient 24hr ATM access. Room service was polite and prompt. I must say if you do not speak English, you may struggle at times with their service desk especially later at night when the available staff to translate diminishes. Did not try to in house diner, it appeared overpriced compared to the eateries around the hotel. Only faults that I can find is the people who stay here are not always of the higher social standard. Often smoking in areas which are forbidden. So if you have a strong dislike of cigarettes look elsewhere. Booking a non smoking room will not help. The walls are a little thing and as many of the rooms share a common atrium noise travels easily. on 3 occasions heard neighbours having loud sex... did not personally bother me. Was solicited for sex one night here also in the lobby. All in all though, great clean comfortable hotel at a very affordable rate located close to bund, metro, and old shanghai district Lisätietoja
