The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain - Marana

We came for the weekend and hated to leave. Food and wines are fabulous. Sommelier is creative and cordial. Hotel staff was THE BEST -- friendly, accommodating, every one went "the extra mile." Room beautifully appointed. Pools and grounds -- just lovely. Spa - lovely. Great hiking trails. Perfect for a romantic getaway. We'll be back.

only warning I have about this hotel is the hidden charges. we were there on business and all we did was eat and sleep, but we were charged a per day, per room fee for amenities we didn't even use or have time to use. per day, per room charges begin to add up quickly!

A very well appointed hotel. We had a mountain view room, which I think was a middle priced room (for the Ritz-Carlotn). However looking at how rooms are positioned I suspect that rooms in all categories had nice or interesting views. Perhaps level of room is more of a determining factor. Buffet breakfasts were excellent with good choice of items. We had two dinners there. They were enjoyable but we did not find the food all that memorable. To be nitpicking the dining room has quite low lighting and we found the booth seating more comfortable as the chairs seemed rather low for the tables. Hmmm.... we had quite the mishap when expecting 5 star. Quite unhappy with the fact it took several weeks to finalize all our issues...

Everything about this hotel is fantastic ! The top quality combined with a relaxed atmosphere , which was exactly what we wanted for our holiday. The on-site restaurant food was delicious, and we especially loved the included breakfast - a perfect way to start the day. We spent New Year's Eve at the Ritz-Carlton. It couldn't possibly have been a more fun and exciting choice. Very pricy for us, but well worth our once-in-a-lifetime beginning to the new year! Perfect for a Most Special get together.

A completely enjoyable stay at this lovely hotel! Facility, staff and service were all top drawer. Only irritating factor was the charge for wire less service. Do you really need that money, on top of the room rates? It seemed niggardly and cheap.

We've stayed at 10 different resorts within Arizona in the last two years and this is our new favorite. Excellent service, great atmosphere, beautiful setting. A bit busy since it was Labor Day but that was to be expected. My 10 year old son loved it too. Can't wait to go back for a quiet, relaxing spa weekend with the hubby.

The resort sits in a beautiful desert canyon. Truly beautiful. The pools are fantastic. The rooms are great. Although as a warning, most of the bedding contains feathers. The bathroom is beyond great with a deep soaking tub, gorgeous opaque glass doors, and a lovely shower with a mirror. Dinner was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was ok (not worth $24). […] The main area for improvement would be poolside service, I always had to track someone down. If you can swing it, I'd highly recommend a canyon view room. In the evening an Indian flute player plays at the back of the canyon and the canyon facing rooms and pool areas are filled with the relaxing melody! Lisätietoja

We had both uncomfortable customer service and excellent customer service at this hotel. It is gated and you must supply your last name before driving in which is fine. What was weird was also having to supply our last name before entering the hotel pool! The pool is located an odd distance from the hotel and when we walked up we were all but accosted […] by a woman with a clipboard asking our last name. I have never seen this and I have stayed in hundreds of hotels. This hotel is WAY out in the desert with nothing around it (which is peaceful but also traps you into only eating at their establishments), so it is not like people were wandering in to crash the pool. This was July 3rd and the hotel was almost entirely full of families with kids, so the pool was not relaxing or enjoyable. The resorts other pool was accessible only through their spa which the staff was required to escort you through which also made it slightly uncomfortable. When we checked in they did not give us any information about the resort credit or free breakfast that came with the room, we had to ask theother staff to get that info. The food was excellent, both dinner and the breakfast buffet. The staff at the breakfast buffet was outstanding and the woman that checked up out was also. The turn down service knocking at the door was thankfully avoided with the Do Not Dosturb sign, but we could still hear them going down the hall knocking and calling out - glad I read about that in the reviews. There is self-park which is free, if you can find it. We asked at the gate on the way in (having read about the $20 valet in the reviews), otherwise you would not know it exists. Hotel is situated near desert mountains in wide open spaces with beautiful cactuses surrounding it. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious & comfortable. However, a light was out in the bathroom when we arrived, the coffeemaker was not easy to figure out & cleaning staff pound on your door in the evening (& every other […] room also) to ask if you want your bed turned down. Turqueza Latin Grill has fabulous food!! I told the chef I'd like to bring him out to California and wherever he worked, we'd be there often. Ignite restaurant is neat to sit outside & see the sunset, however, lighting can be non-existent & some moths?? want to join you for dinner. Our drive up to the resort was at dusk and the desert was at its best with the cactus showcased against a sunset of pinks and dark blue clouds. Being from the midwest I've only seen cactus that big in pictures. The resort is lovely to drive up to and we knew we were in for a treat. The doorman helped us with our luggage and didn't want us to carry a […] thing. The lobby is spectacular with its openness and the architecture is perfect for the area. As my 23 year old son commented,"This place is ridiculous!" He had a weekend pass from his army base and fell into the lap of luxury for 24 hrs. He used the exercise room and was in the tub for an hour and a half watching tv. We walked outside to see all the pools and the fire pits. By the time we had toured the grounds I knew this would be a great place to honeymoon and told my daughter who had found this place on the internet so. We all took part in the buffet for breakfast and my son knew it was back to the mess hall the next day so he relished every bite. My husband and I knew we had either given him a respite from army life or made it miserable for him to return! Thank you for a memorable stay. My main reason for choosing Arizona was to see my son but it was also my husband's and my 30th anniversary. As we walked into the lobby I said "Happy Anniversary and you are welcome!" A side note to this trip: We were in Truth or Consequences, NM and it was midnight and we needed a hotel. The hotel we stayed at was the polar opposite of the Ritz-Carlton. Everyone should get to experience the wonderful service and surroundings @ the Ritz-Carlton at Dove Mountain. The staff were incredibly helpful and the setting was beautiful! We were amazed by the meals we had at "Core" the signature restaurant and my husband said the dinner was the best meal he'd had. We were given several tastes, compliments of the […] chef and the overall experience was superb. The breakfast buffet was amazing as well. The room was spacious with a gorgeous view and the furniture was very comfortable. The bathtub was so deep that the water covered my shoulders with me sitting straight up! The pool was crystal clear and open 24 hours--wonderful for a midnight dip or just to walk around. We would definately like to return and would even take our two young children as it seems as though they would also enjoy the experience. This resort is awesome. Best service I have ever had at any hotel/resort. Everything was nice & clean. Pool area is awesome. Drinks & food are pricey but that is pretty standard for a nice resort. Everybody was really nice. Great place to take your wife/girlfriend for romantic getaway.
