It was a good place to stay for what we needed, just an overnite stay on our way home. Our biggest complaint was that the tub didn't drain well and the staff didn't seem too concerned about it. Other than that it's good for an overnite stay.

"Good location for us"
We needed a place to stay close to the tollway on Thanksgiving evening. We didn't want to pay much. The place was adequate for our needs, although the complimentary breakfast left a bit to be desired, especially for diabetics. (It was cabohydrates and sugar all the way.) The lights over the bed were burned out. An employee came the first night to try to fix and replace but was unsuccessful. But the problem was- they didn't fix it during our 3 d.stay which made being in the room to read or be comfortable very difficult. Bed is low- even in the handicap room making it difficult for my mate to transfer to his wheelchair. "clean and close"
This facility is a great place to stay, especially if you want to be near the Notre Dame campus. I found the staff to be of particular excellence in attitude, service and very helpful. It also was nice that there are two or thrre eateries well within walking distance.

"Pleasantly Surprised, Exceeded My Expectations"
I was looking for a cheap, clean hotel to spend the night. This hotel exceeded my expectations. It was nicer than I expected. My only complaint was the cleanliness of the bathroom. There was trash left from the previous occupants. Otherwise, the hotel and room were immaculate. I would stay here again.

The motel is convenient to Notre Dame and downtown but that is all it has to offer. The room was tiny and had a unpleasant odor (bad drains?). Staff was friendly and helpful. There were no restaurants nor shopping near and the motel offers no amenities. I'm sure you could do better!

I chose this hotel based on price, location and reviews that stated it was very clean. I wanted something that was basic, cost-effective and clean. There were large coffee or splill stains on the carpet in the elevator and all along the hall to my room. The room was ok however the padded window seat was cloth and needed washed and there were crumbs […] or something on the fabric. The floors were basically clean in the room however it was not swept well along the edges of the room and had dust bunnies and ?? The bed and linens were clean and comfortable. "Excellent Hotel with Awesome Staff"
I had the priveledge of staying at this hotel for my son's baseball tournament at Notre Dame. I arrived long before check in time and they took all my info and I sat in the lobby and cooled off and accessed the free wifi to catch up on business and a little while later April was tapping me on the shoulder telling me they had a room ready for me. The hotel is nice and clean. The only negative is the rude front desk class name Marjorie. She pretty much barked at everyone and rolled her eyes on every phone call.

Check in was AWFUL.... VERY RUDE FRONT DESK CLERK. We had called months in advance requesting that the four rooms from our group be arranged close to each other. Had called several times to confirm this would not be a problem. IT DID NOT HAPPEN!!! Then upon arrival we were given a handicapped accessible room with the understanding the only difference […] would be that in the bathroom there would be grab rails! They neglected to say that there would be no counter space in the bathrooom for which to keep your toiletries. When we approached the front desk, she said to me verbatim "we are not a full service hotel. if you want that the Marriott is just down the road!" "New, Convenient, Reasonable"
We love the coziness of Microtel. This one is brand new and up-to-date. My only complaint was that the sink was dirty when we arrived and I had to request that it be cleaned. There were 2 of us and only 2 towels, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth, but additionals were provided upon request. The staff was very friendly and we were quite comfortable.

Although this hotel was clean and well located, I was disappointed that there were no fans in the bathrooms. This made for a very steamy showering situation. Also, the complimentary breakfast was limiting. Great place to stay. Three members in our party, and each one found the Microtel very comfortable, ervice good, breakfast ample. The very best beds and pillows I've ever slept upon.

The room was, in general, fine. I have back problems and need a firm mattress. The mattress in the room had not been turned, apparently, so where the upper body sleeps, it had lost its firmness, while the lower half of the bed was still firm. Exceptional staff...friendly and helpful! Room had a strong odor of cleaning product which made it a little uncomfortable. Beds were very comfortable. Have stayed at a Microtel before so knew the breakfast did not have as much to offer as other hotels, but did notice they had added a waffle maker. Carpet needs to be replaced. Room seemed clean, but common areas did not.

Great location to Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College. Only down fall, VERY loud in the morning with people slamming doors and nex to dryers.....

Awesome service and room was very clean and comfortable, the only downside for me was the room was too small for my personal taste, but thats a personal problem, absolutely no issues with the hotel, would definitely stay again based on service and the quality of the room and cleanliness.

My only complaint is that the walls seemed rather thin. I could hear a lot of noise from the neighboring rooms and the hallway. The room was comfortable, though, and within walking distance of the Notre Dame campus. (Not the nicest walk though.)

with the exception of a little noise, this was a great GREAT deal. The staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful (reminded me not to forget the start of daylight savings-time) the room was clean, well appointed and though small, just what I needed--and nice sun through the window too.
