Jos olet rantalomasi jo viettänyt tai lähdössä viettämään, on muutama päivä Mombasan keskustassa kiva lisä matkalle. In good location for all facilities.Rooms were hot due to AC working but not that well.

Beatiful hotel in Mombasa with old colonial feeling. Great location, and a good price which you get a lot for!

I feel that i didn't get my money's worth and the staff was just too aggravating and i was so unhappy with the manager for not considering my complaints and my situation. i was embarrassed on many occasions and i can say i had a very unhappy experience at that hotel.

The AC was far to small to make the big room cool. The bed was pretty uncomfortable and certainly gave backache when I got up in the morning. A hot and painful night. The Bathroom flush was not working.And of course the Shower only threw cold water. Over all very bad experience.

Take a double room even when you are alone. The rooms are just that little bit larger that makes it comfortable.

Centrally located, old and well used hotel. Good atmosphare, friendly staff. The room was not great, had a single room on first floor, AC did work effeciently, the noise from the street was load,

Gloomy executive suite. Shower barely produced water. Poor quality bed. Tried again in a suite in the Hotel two weeks later, aircon didnt work, bath in such poor condition that we didnt want to get into it. Grime everywhere. offered a cup of coffee or snack to make up for no aircon. Poor or indiferent service. Restaurant on the first visit was good […] and on the second rather poor quality. OK hotel with good sized rooms, but a bit dated. Noisy air-conditioning and very very low water pressure which makes showering a real pain. But for central Mombasa this is one of the only affordable options with decent rooms and pricing. If you want any better you will have to pay almost double the price in one of the top end hotels.

The hotel is aging and unfortunately a coat of paint only delays one finding out about deficiencies. The main discomfort is the air conditioner. it appears to only make a noise. the fan in the room has more affect. With the high humidity in Mombassa this is very negative. There is no rooftop bar, despite the picture of it on this website. Nor a 2nd-floor terrace. There were holes in the sheets. The electricity in the room was finicky. Hot water is only available during certain hours of the day. This would have been manageable - if it were a much cheaper hotel. For hotels in this price range, look up Royal Court, which […] we saw nearby and seemed much nicer, or consider staying outside the city center. An ideal pit stop for anyone passing through central Mombassa, not particularly charming but pretty modern, efficient and clean by Kenyan standards.

Very pleasant hotel in a historical building. It has retained its old-world charm and is comfortable and conveniently located.

Hotel was fine with room on the fourth floor at the front.. Perhaps a little noisy for some but with air con and curtains closed not a problem. Bar/cafe downstairs nice and airy with good coffee. Ceiling fans kept it reasonably cool in the heat of the afternoon. Food Ok but not very adventurous, service a little erratic at times. I used this hotel recently for a business trip. It is in a good location at the heart of the town. Staff are very helpful. The room had air con, telly, decent bathroom, clean bedding and towels and was perfectly adequate. Our impression of the Castle Royal is that it is past its time. There was no rooftop garden, the breakfast buffet was not memorable, and the in-house restaurant disappointing. The staff was courteous and helpful, however, and the price was right. We also liked the location.

Vi bodde två nätter på Castle Royal Hotel i Mombasa strax före jul. Hotellet har mycket kolonial "charm", rimliga priser och bra rum. Klassisk öppen matsal/cafe på nedre botten som vetter mot Moi Avenue nära de gamla kvarteren.

Något arrogant kvinnlig personal, andra är bra. Antydningar för sexualla tjänster har förekommit under min vistelse, av både städpersonal och inhemska besökare. Bädden bytts inte var dag. Problem med fjärrkontrol till TV, men åtgärdats. Baddukar har inte flitigt bytts var dag. Annars ett bra hotell med rätt ok läge, dock är omgivningen ej vänlig efter […] mörkrets fall. Stannade två nätter på Castle Royal Hotel i Mombasa i dec 2011. Hotellet är lite slitet men ganska bra standard om man jämför med andra i området. En skön atmosfär med trevlig lobby / bar med bra priser. Gångavstånd till allt så som Fort Jesus och gamla staden. Trevlig hjälpsam personal!

地處中心地帶，去老城很方便。房間很大，頗有皇宮氣派，家具簡單，電視頻道太少。熱水不是24小時都有。早餐簡單，未顯特色。

Not good value for money. A hotel charging western prices in Mombasa, it should be high quality, but the badly maintained rooms and surrounding areas let it down.

I have lodged on the Royal C before some 3 years ago. the first room we had was absolutely cramped and the ceiling was under maintenánce. The room seemed more like something from a cheap movie where the its being used for a hour of cheating. next morning I had the room swopped for another, which was more comfortable. the chinese cantonese restaurant […] in the hotels parking area is an absolute NO GO, on 2 occasions I had to throw the ood out, it was not mend for human consumption. actually I first had good food again when I went to Nairobi the next day. Et ok alternativ midt i Momasa sentrum. Hyggelig og gjestfritt personale, dårlig standard på rommene. Selvom det tilsynelatende så "rent" ut på rommet, ble man svart av å gå barbent der. Opplevde å bli godt tatt vare på og ikke frastjålet noe på rommet. Et skikkelig pluss!!

Staff is very nice and useful, you get great tourism advice, rooms are very clean, good free wifi on the patio. Nice for a first stop coming from the airport

Utmärkt som 'mellanstation' , om man flyger till Mombasa och skall vidare på safari/sydkusten/-Lamu/Malndi etc. Försöker att hålla koloni-atmosfären. Mycket buller från Moi Ave.

Das Hotel ist empfehlenswert. Vermutlich das Beste am Platze. Insgesamt sind wir sehr froh dieses gewählt zu haben. Die Zimmer waren in einem guten Zutand.

Castle Royal Hotel Mombasa känns gammaldags lyxigt, som en värdig gammal överklassdam. Korrekt personal, rent och propert, väl fungerande luftkonditonering (underbart i Mombasas värme).

Sehr schönes Hotel, zentral gelegen, mit kolonialem Charme und angenehmen Ambiente. Zur Straße offenes Restaurant. Das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es war möglich, für die Weiterreise nicht benötigtes Gepäck zu deponieren.

Ottima posizione al centro di Mombasa. Per lo standard del paese è un ottimo albergo...non aspettatevi il Ritz-Carlton!! Stanze abbastanza ampie (chiedete la numero 100) e ristrutturato da poco. Personale cordiale. Possibilità di mangiare a qualsiasi ora e fino a tarda notte. Inoltre vi consiglio una cena al Tamarind (bello, ma costoso[50€]) oppure […] al Veranda (buono e più economico).
