There are no other hotels on the water and adjacent to the North End. The location is delightful, but this newly built hotel's lobby, hallways, and rooms are small and cramped. The room had two windows that opened but even when 60 degrees outside it was still hot inside and we had to turn on the A/C. We loved the Fairmont Battery Wharf. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was extraordinary. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and very helpful. We will stay there again.

Due to a last-minute change in circumstance, we stayed at the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge Friday night and then switched to the Fairmont for Saturday and Sunday. The Fairmont staff is lovely and very helpful. When we arrived our bathroom doors were offset and would not shut. The staff had them promptly fixed while we were out. However, we quickly decided […] we liked the bed (Fairmont's bed seemed too firm...but if that's your thing, you should like them), the shower, and the quirky decor at Hotel Marlowe better. Also, call your own taxi. I had the doorman call me a taxi to go shopping. The guy they summoned charged me $26 (to his credit, he was very friendly and charming). We really enjoyed our 1 night stay at Fairmont Battery Wharf. Our plans were to tour North Boston and all we had to do was cross the street and walk for 1 block and everything was right there. The hotel was clean and the service was exemplary. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The facilities are beautiful but it is not centrally located. The front desk staff were not able to give good directions to sights using public transportation or by foot - usually suggesting that we take a taxi (which would have been very expensive). Drinks and food at the hotel were very pricey. The restaurants near the hotel are all Italian - some […] were quite excellent. We used the spa which was very close by and found it clean and inviting. The property, it food and facilities are absolutely the best among Boston's finest hotels. The staff are wonderful and make you feel as though they are there only for you, anticipating your every need. All done without Brahmin pretentiousness. Magnificient!

Hotel was amazing! The room was clean, beautiful and comfortable. My only complaint would be the valet parking. We had to wait almost 25 minutes each time (and we had called ahead for our car).

Good hotel, but do not expect great views or super service. They have several buildings, so if your breakfast is included in the room charge, no metter what they say, eat inside the building you are staying. Otherwise they'll charge you for the meal. The consierge service can do only very simple things such as call a taxi. Do not expect help with getting […] tickets for show or any other things that you may expect to get in a 5 star hotel. Water taxi to the airport is not a romantic thing: it cost $10 per person and it takes 20 min to cross the water, but you may wait about 20 min for the shatle bus which takes you to the airport terminal. We stayed in the Fairmont Gold part of the hotel which is a separate building with its own concierge. Lovely bedrooms - spacious. Only drawback is no bathtub but shower is roomy and powerful. Located near the waterfront. 10 mins walk to Aquarium T station (blue line) 10 mins to Haymarket T (green and orange line). Water taxi from Bostonairport goes straight to hotel. Close to Italian area - good restaurants. Drawbacks - no pool, main restaurant in hotel in separate building so you may get a little wet if raining. Would we go back - yes - it's our second visit! Intimate because hotel is spread out in 4 midrise buildings. Off the beaten track with several entrances so a bit tricky to catch a cab Steps to North End with great restaurants and Paul Revere historical sites. Love views of harbor water and gold pkg including very nice breakfast, appetizers and dessert in comfortable pretty lounge.

When we arrived we upgraded to the gold rooms for the breakfast. The room was spacious but by far the staff sets this hotel apart. Whatever the task, from making dinner reservations to help with luggage the staff went beyond the immediate task to make our stay more enjoyable. Great hotel.

For the most part I enjoyed it. I was rather disappointed with the room's view as we booked a harbour view room and got, at best, a partial harbour view. The room, we were advised, was upgraded for us but we felt, in the end, the upgrade was more of a downgrade. Unfortunately the reception greeting was very unwelcoming. They thought we booked through another web site, not Hotels.com. They informed me that even though we booked a King Suite 380sqm with bay or city views that, Hotels.com was not accurate in the information they had from them and would only give us a small non view room. upon arrival we were given an upgraded room since it was a special occasion. the person at the desk took personal interest and gave us a lot of extra care and showed us to our room. beautiful room, gorgeous view of boston harbor. the same fellow then drove us to our restaurant nearby. great location near north end-easy to walk to lots of great spots. […] we had a late night drink outside with firepit and our neighbors were roasting marshmallows! excellent all the way around, would highly recommend to others and would stay again in a heartbeat. The location of the hotel was ideal for my husband and I to walk everywhere, including all the great Italian restaurants, cafes and bakery's while still being centrally located to all the sites. The feel upon arriving was just a little confusing with check in being in one building and our room being across the cul-de-sac. The harbor view room was clean […] and decorated nicely. Superb room with very high end decor and furniture. Loved the bathroom with the speakers that sync to the TV or your iPod. The only thing missing is a pool for this to be one of the top hotels in all of Boston.

The Fairmont Battery Wharf is a very elegant, chic hotel with all of the amenities of a new hotel. The location on the waterfront was perfect on hot summer days and nights with the breeze from the water. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants and Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. Great staff and great service. Highly recommend this hotel.

This was a nice hotel in a good location. We were able to walk many places, easily found the subway, and used the trolley. There was no need for a car while we were in Boston. This is by far the best hotel that I've been at in my travels. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and my treatment at Fairmont was exceptional. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and curteous. When we arrived, our room wasn't available yet, but the staff quickly upgraded us to a "Junior Suite" (very nice). They offer complimentary gourmet […] breakfast, H'orderves and deserts. We are talking about gourmet hams, eggs, juices etc...for breakfast, gourmet hams and salami, oysters on the half shell one day etc., and cheescake, cookies etc.. for desserts. Their sodas and waters are free when you get them in the lobby. Their rooms were clean and contemporary. We are on the bay but close to "Little Italy" on the North End. This area is preferred to the "Back Bay" due to its more peaceful surroundings. It was always relaxing sitting on the bench overlooking the Charles river. The hotel was in the best location for touring, eating, people watching, catching a water taxi. We will stay there again when we go back to Boston. The people were friendly. It was our first experience with a Fairmont hotel, we usually stay at Marriott or Kimpton hotels, I will try them in other cities after this. The exhale spa is such a nice perk. […] I used it for a massage one day and went back and did a yoga class and facial. The only complaint that I have is that the doors in building four are very loud (if you like to sleep in) and they don't close all the way unless you pull them shut. Otherwise a perfect visit.
