Poikkesin avopuolisoni kanssa heinäkuussa 2011 Kaliforniaa autolla kiertäessämme Montereyhin ja pikaisesti tekemämme majoitusvalinta osoittautui oivalliseksi hinta-laatu -suhteeltaan. Huone oli siisti ja viihtyisä. Majoitus vastasi odotuksiamme hyvin ja voimme sen johdosta suositella sitä kaupunkiin poikkeavalle. Huoneen hintaan sisältyvä aamiainen oli mukava lisä. Henkilökunta oli myös ystävällistä ja palveluhenkistä.

Upgraded our Room for a cottage for a great price... Loved the cottage, location was great. Will definitly recommend to friends and family.

We were up in the area to look at rentals and stayed here. We weren't there long, but enjoyed our stay. It was cute with a patio in the back with lush landscaping behind.

Hosts very friendly and helpful. Had a cabin with fireplace in it, cosy but if room had been bigger would have been better. Not as close to Carmel town as we would have liked, but clean and comfortable.

For the price it is a good value. The rooms are not sound-proof but we had no problems with neighbors or pets.

the main difficulty that i had was with the mattress and the pillows. the mattress was extremely uncomfortable, and the pillows had no loft at all -- piling them on top of each other was even worse. the cottages were lovely, as were the gardens around them. the people in the office were polite and helpful when asked about something.

Every employee was extremely nice. The grounds of the property were amazingly clean and in full abundance of amazing flowers. The location of hotel is conveniently located close to the major freeways. Highly recommend this hotel for travelers and people who desire affordable traveling pit stops.

Can't beat this hotel for the price if you are visiting Carmel. While it may not look great on the outside, its really comfortable, the staff is friendly and thwarting surrounding area is beautiful. We went in the off season so not a lot of people were staying here and simply loved it. Great little cabin - Robert Stevenson (number 31) - very clean, very comfy, nicely decorated, beautiful deck and spacious. The hotel staff was nice and accommodating, but there was a bit of a snafu at check in and while we were there early for our room, they told us they would call when the room was cleaned. "Great value"
I love this place. It is one of my favorites. Basic but sparkling clean and quiet. The gardens are lovely, the location perfect with easy access to downtown Carmel, to Point Lobos and Big Sur, and to Nepenthe. The service was very good also.

"Cheap Lodgings"
When a hotel is really cheap there is a reason for that. I'll admit it was clean and served the purpose of having a place to put our stuff and lay our heads at night but that's about all I can say for this place. If you are looking for inexpensive accommodations in Carmel this is the place to stay. If you want a more comfortable experience with nice […] amenities go else where. The room had a strong odor of cleaning solution, which makes you wonder what they were trying to cover up. Everything about the room was old. From the tiny pokey bathroom with the old fixtures to the wall heater that made strange "twang" sounds all night long. We weren't comfortable here but if you're just trying enjoy Carmel on a budget you may not mind all of the outdated features. I will say the staff was pleasant but we didn't interact with them much. We stayed here for two nights in one of the standard rooms with our beagle. The room was clean, they provided dog treats and a ball our dog, and service was friendly. It would have been nice if the hotel was closer to downtown Carmel and the beach, but the price was very good and we had a very pleasant stay.
"Very happy with my experience"
Just outside of Carmel by the Sea, and was a nice comfortable room. With an area outside your room to sit and have a cup of coffee and look out to the beautiful outdoors. Not high-end, but very reasonable and cozy. I had no trouble with my heater like reviews that I read about.
"This "Inn" is what it is"
Not sure why all the bad reviews. It is exactly what we expected, especially for the price. Its a clean comfortable room just a couple mins outside of town. Dogs are allowed in all but two cottages, stop whining you dog snobs not everyone wants to sleep where your dog has slept. Good service and great value.

This was my first stay at Carmel River Inn. It is in a nice location. Very, very clean. Bed and pillows are very high quality. Although this property is definetely an older type motel, they have done a good job of making it comfy. I would stay there again. "Minor glitches but good value for money"
The pros : Loaction is just off Highway 1 and in Carmel itself. Close to Point Lobos State Park which is a gem. Rooms are clean , reasonably spacious with an older style TV, fridge and coffee machine. Cons : The hotel had minor housekeeping issues- coffee machine had not been cleaned after the last occupant's use. I enjoyed my stay at the Carmel River Inn. Staff friendly and nice. Located close to downtown Carmel and shopping right next to the hotel. I'd stay there again without a problem.
"OK for the price"
This hotel is very outdated but I didn't expect too much based on the room rate. The drapes definitely need to be replaced, but the room seemed fairly clean. Convenient location, close to freeway but you do hear the traffic if you have door open.
Basic motel from the mid 80's? Not too bad for the price, it your looking for classy Carmel type hotels don't stay there. Its not in bad shape but nothing is brand new. Great for the price and location! Hotel staff is awesome, very helpful and caring.

Very comfortable double beds - and fantastic shower. Very handy to have decent sized fridge and walking distance to Safeway (24 hours). Not really walking distance of Carmel itself -but a peaceful location away from the main area.

Stayed in the rooms, not cottages. Not what I expected at all... But it worked. If you need a simple crash pad, this is it. The staff were friendly, and the grounds were nice. Our biggest problem was that we could hear our 'neighbors' to either side of us while in our room and it was hard to sleep with the noise. The room was comfortable but very average, and we thought it was overpriced considering some of the other hotels we've stayed at for the price. I was assigned rm 57, with picture windows overlooking pool and greenery. Unfortunately, the pool was empty for the winter ;( The room was 2nd floor, quiet, facing away from Hwy 1. Furnishings dated but clean. Close by: Carmel by the Sea, Carmel Valley, Carmel Highlands, Point Lobos short drives (15 min). Coffee was a treat. Pillows and mattress comfortable. "Quiet, clean and comfortable"
When we arrived, they had upgraded us to a cottage, free of chard. The cottage was in lovely surroundings, whit hot tub in the bathroom. Sofa, microwave and coffee maker. Perfect for a little family! Easy access too highway 1. We would love too stay longer if we had the time.

Have stayed at this hotel a number of times but for the price will stay somewhere else. Hotel needs to be up dated and maintenance improved. Although the location is great.

If traffic noise is taken out of the equation, the inn is quiet and would be a good place to stay for a night or two. It is in a pretty setting with winding walking paths bordered by lush landscaping. The room was spacious and comfortable, and it would have been a whole lot more enjoyable if the bathroom was updated -- the condition of the sink was […] gross (how much can it cost to replace an ugly cracked sink and a small badly stained floor?). Rooms are not as showen on the web they smell musty and or moldy.We were told it was walking distance to down towm carmel,its 2.5 miles by car and the roads are not safe to walk on due to traffic.
