Hotelli on erittäin hyvällä paikalla lähellä rautatieasemaa. Löytämistä varten kannattaa kuitenkin osoite talonnumeroineen laittaa ylös, koska nimikylttiä ei ole koolla pilattu. Henkilökunta ei ole läpi yön paikalla joten kulkeminen sisään ja ulos tapahtuu avainkortilla. Huone oli siisti ja hiljainen. Palvelu oli ystävällistä vaikkakin lähes yksinomaan […] italiankielistä. Oli hyvä guesthouse. Oli siistiä ja kuntokin oli hyvä. Palvelu toimi hyvin ja laukutkin onnistui jättämään aulaan lähtöpäivänä vaikka huone luovutettiin. Ainoa miinus meidän osalta oli huoneen kosteus. Itse en ainakaan nähnyt minkäänlaista ilmanvaihtoa huoneessa. Air-conditioning in room worked really well - thank goodness because outside it was humid and warm. Staff were very helpful and friendly - and spoke english. We arrived much earlier than expected and were pleased to be able to go directly to our room. TV didn't have English speaking channels but lots of English programs that were dubbed in Italian. […] We stayed two nights and found local grocery stores, cafes, Basilicas all close by. We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was very pleasant. The only downsides--the room really was not ventilated well. However, we opened the window to help with air circulation. Not sure what it would be like during the warmer months. Also, the neighborhood, while it served us well for train access, can be a little dicey. Our stay at Merulana Inn Residence was wonderful. Very helpful and friendly staff, a very good location, clean and comfortable room, a great breakfast. Everything was as we hoped it would be. We would definitely select Merulana Inn again.

The Merulana Inn Resdience is more like a B&B than a hotel, and appears to be a large converted flat on the third floor of the building. The room was really nice, a decent size, and with a nice comfortable bed. The road is a little noisy, but this did not affect a good night's sleep. It also had a decent sized fridge, which was helpful for keeping milk […] for a cup of coffee/tea, and some beer in. The room was kept really clean and tidy. Breakfast was fairly basic, with cereal, toast etc, but that was fine as we didn't go to Rome to eat full English breakfasts. The location was good, about 10 minutes from the Colloseum, and within walking distance from all the main sights, apart from the Vatican, which was best reached by the Metro, with the main station five minutes walk away. Bizarrely, no staff at hotel after 2.30pm, just video cameras. Breakfast staff very friendly. Check-in staff unwelcoming - accusing us of arriving far too late at 7.45pm (apparently we were supposed to call if we were arriving after 2pm, although how were supposed to know this is a mystery) - this was after we had spent an hour looking for it in the […] dark and pouring rain. Eventually a neighbour (who had never heard of it) helped us to find an unlit entrance to an apartment building - the 'guest house' was on the third floor. Look on Google streetview - you will struggle to find it! Hotel room nicely fitted and decorated but shower didn't work properly and safety deposit box was broken. Complementary tea/coffee in room had no milk sachets and was replenished randomly if at all. No obvious signs or information about emergency exit (fire escape, etc). Well positioned for local sights and Termini station, but in Winter it felt uncomfortable at night as homeless people gathered at the cash machine nearby and on one occasion in the doorway itself to seek shelter from the rain. The staff were all very polite and helpful - they couldn't do enough for us to arrange tours, shuttle services, recommend restaurants, shops, tourist attractions etc on a map they provided which was wonderful. It is a lovely hotel! Fantastic service; Great value for money, spotlessly clean, excellent breakfast and great location from the train station. Easy walking distance to all sites. Did not have to use any transport whilst in the city as long as you don't mind walking. We cant really fault our stay here. Perfect location for the Bus and Train station as only 10 minute walk. Very clean and tidy and the staff were very helpfull. Only a 15-20 minute walk to the Collaseum, Pantheon and Trevi Fountain.

Merulana Inn is a guest house with 7 guest rooms on the 3rd floor of a beautiful, quaint building. It was a little difficult to locate because they do not have signage or a staffed lobby but once I located it - all was well. We're really pleased with the hotel, they are very accommodating and even the lady who assists us on the evening doesn't speak well in English but very friendly, but the incharged during the day speak well in English and very helpful, location is a must and its really nice.

Was good place to stay, not noise , clean. Judy was very pleasant and friendly. Only one problem no phones in the rooms, after 3 pm if you need to call or expect phone call it was a problem. Bring your own phone and WIFI only worked outside of the room. If need to call do it when ladies are in, they let you use their computer and phone. Me and my wife stayed here for 2 nights and were delighted with the convenience, cleanliness and friendly service we received from Judy and her staff. From outside it does not look like a Bed & Breakfast, but from inside it is an elegant B&B with hotel conveniences. Less than 10 minutes walk to Rome Termini station and bus terminal. Travelling with my mother and my son, we required a triple room. The room was very tight with the cot squeezed in and luggage enough for 3 people. When we first arrived, we were a little nervous when we found a buzzer to use in order to be let in and at first there was no answer. The hotel occupies one floor of a building and is not like a regular hotel where you walk in the front door a go to the reception desk. Thank goodness for the little old elevator as it's a decent climb up several flights of stairs with luggage. At check-in, we heard all rules; 'don't do/touch/use this or that' etc. Judy explained this was an 'Inn', not a 'hotel' so there isn't full service. Those buying into that are easily duped by marketing ploys. There is NO service here. As soon as we checked in, she was gone. Judy is the only one there and when she leaves, there is NO ONE. Everyone was […] left to fend for themselves. We were at an 'Inn' in Capri and Florence and never left alone. She gave her cell #, and threat; 'if you call me, it better be an emergency and not you locked yourself out of the room. I wont be happy with that call'. So you can't even call her. The A/C, fridge, TV, nor the bathroom sink drain worked. We opened our door to get the A/C from the hall. There is a video camera in the room. We covered it with a towel. No staff is there, can’t even ask for ice. Judy’s the person that changes sheets after checkout. Checkout is 11am. Not after 11:15. She can’t clean everyone room at once so there’s no point of not letting someone check out at noon? We were out by 9:30 but it’s another rule so she doesn’t need to be there. Breakfast is limited. We shared 1 tablespoon of eggs. It was gone. Only pastry was sliced bread and a toaster. DO NOT stay there. Literally no service or staff there. She wants the money from guests but no responsibility. First off, this is like a Bed & Breakfast rather then a hotel. My mom chose this hotel and I was presently surprised by how nice it was. Judy was awesome and so nice, she showed us how everything worked in the room, where everything was located and even circled several things on a map of where to go and what to see. My mom and I had already been to […] Rome before so we came back to do somethings we didn't do last time. She recommended this Gelato place and it was amazing. Its called Fassi I believe, if you stay here ask Judy about it and she will show you on the map where it is located and how to get there. There is free wifi in the rooms and free breakfast each morning but we didn't have a chance to have breakfast because we had early mornings each day. Judy is only there in the morning until 2pm, after that you are on your own which was really nice because it felt like your own apartment with no one to bother you. It was a perfect place for my boyfriend and I to stay at. It felt close to most places. We ended up walking from the hotel to various places everyday. It is also close to termini, which made it easy for us to go to the Vatican via metro. However, the staff was only there early in the morning during breakfast (8-10 am). Ovwerated - expensive price for B&B quality residence where you can book a decent 4-star hotel with same price and better location. The most unacceptable fact is there is no hot water for shower.

Given how everyone complains about European rooms being small, this place is relatively palatial. Comfortably sized rooms. Bathrooms small but workable (though if you are a 250+ lb man, the shower is going to be a tight squeeze). We could easily walk to the main sites. There are a few decent (but expensive) cafes nearby, but a fine breakfast is included […] and they will scramble eggs if you ask. The only thing we didnt realize is that this "residence inn" means that staff is only available in the morning during check in/out period. The Merulana is a 'Residence' or merely a bed and breakfast ... not a real hotel. But it is well located for tourism, well run and very clean, and comfortable enough. And the staff are especially helpful. Do not use it if you require something more ... as we did being in our sixties and frankly exhausted after the huge crowds at all the main sites throughout […] the day. This isn't really a hotel, it is a guest house. What this means for you is that the check-in time has to be fixed in advance to some degree, and you might have a narrow window of time to check-in. This also means that someone isn't around all of the time, which could be an issue for you. Excellent place for a city break, in a central area. Enjoyed our stay at this establishment. This is not a hotel, but more of a guest house. Very clean and an adequate continental breakfast. Roberta was always on hand to help us, even though she could not speak English. Would definitely recommend this guest house.

The owner, Roberta,appears to have a whole floor in a mature building in a thriving area close to the train station and Santa Maria Maggiore. This is converted into a mini hotel of sorts. Our […] room was not huge but big enough, nicely appointed, quiet and functional. Roberta was very helpful and puts out a decent breakfast spread which should easily see you through till lunch. I haven't learned Italian but enjoyed trying and managed to communicate sufficiently with Roberta to have a good laugh and so that she could make a restaurant reservation for us. The location is 5 minutes from the train station, maybe 10 minutes walk to the colusseum, but it had a great feel to it and you certainly didn't feel you had to go walk a long way to have plenty of choice for bars and restaurants. In fact you felt that the locals were heading to this area of an evening so I would recommend booking if you fancy somewhere recommended in reviews e.g. la Carbonara about 10 mins walk away. located 5 min walk from termini station,(very comfortable) that means public transport at any given time, very nice neighborhood we had no problem walking there at the middle of the night. the room was very nice, very clean and the staff was very helpful, the only con was the room size (quite little) but not a real issue.

I have been to Rome many times, stayed at friends and at different hotels previously and this is by far the nicest and will definitely recommend it. close to the station but not as close to compromise safety, close to one of the nicest cafe I know, and to great places to eat great yummy roman specialities. room was lovely, had everything we needed. […] bed was super comfy. Very good place to stay for the price. Fairly easy to find if you look carefully for the name by the door. Helpful staff who are there for part of the time.There isn't a big sign with the hotel name on so just check in advance you know where you're going on a map, which street and so on.. Remember this is not a hotel so there isn't someone available […] all the time but this was not a problem for us. The Inn is on the 3rd floor on a residential block and was very quiet. Really lovely room which was new and very clean. Only slight problem was the hot water was a bit luke warm on a couple of the mornings whilst we were staying there. The area was ok for food but on the whole didn't feel Rome was great for foood in tourist areas maybe we were just unlucky. Very near to the Collesium and Forum, a short walk of 10 minutes and 20-30 minutes to get into the central area of Rome. Breakfast was ok nothing out of the ordinary but for this price and type of accomadation it isn't going to be amazing but fine for what it was. Normal stuff - cereal, toast, cold meat, cheese, yoghurt, scrambled egg, tea, coffee and orange juice. Very clean and comfortable. Would I recommend it? Yes. Lisätietoja

We stayed in this hotel for three nights and had a really pleasant time. The room was really nice and very clean, everything is very modern. The hotel is reasonably priced. WiFi worked perfectly, breakfast was also very good (coffee/tea/milk, toast and German rye bread :-), jams, cereals, yoghurt, fruits, scrambled eggs). The staff was very helpful […] and friendly. Although the hotel is in walking distance to stazione termini (5 min), via Merulana is not part of the 'dodgy' train station area anymore, but there are shops, restaurants, a smaller church and a museum. Maria St. Maggiore is just next to the hotel, all other sights in central Rome in walking distance: Colosseum 15 min, Forum Romanum 20 min, Piazza Venezia 25 min etc. We walked everything, even up to the Vatican (appr. 1 hour). We also used the red metro line A from stazione termini to the Vatican one day (get off at Ottavia) for 1 EUR. Try to eat at Trattoria Monti just around the corner, but make sure you have a reservation! What is different from other hotels (and probably why it is in a good location but reasonably priced) is that the staff is not there 24/7, but until approx. 1 pm every day, so you should check in before that time. You will get two mobile phone numbers of the owners of the hotel in case of emergency. We did not need them, everything worked perfectly. Apart from the lift - but I reckon they fixed it by now. A group of 10 friends stayed here using 5 of the rooms, The lady in charge was great we arrived early & she allowed us access to the 3 rooms that were ready & we stored our bags in there until we returned later & then when we had to leave she let us leave our bags in a room until it was time to leave for the airport. We were all happy with our rooms […] they were comfy & really clean. The location is great for all the main attractions but really quiet allowing for pleasant sleep times.
