Check-in and out process was fast. Room was real clean and roomy. The only think I can complain about on the second floor facing a construction site we had no blinds, on curtains that didn't block out any light. Hotel parking lot is small but enough to fit guest. Access right off highway 45 and restaurants & Gas stations all around. With a PetSmart […] across the street for you let lovers. Only 5 minutes from sea wall or moody gardens. Well I must say that the reason I chose Candlewood Suites is that my past experience with Candlewood was great, the rooms are nice and comfortable, but I had requested a rollaway way in advance, and then told on arrival that there were none, sorry but I was told no problem in getting one when reserved the room, the location was not convenient and very […] hard to get in and out of to highway. The rooms were clean, the people were nice, and the hotel was nice. Only one complain is that when walking through the halls, you can hear everyone's TV on and muffles from their conversations. When in your room, this is not the case, it is rather quiet.

The staff was very helpful and courteous. Room were very large and fully equipped. I will definitely be staying with these folks again.

Room was nice and clean. Doesn't have all the amenities of a large hotel, it's a good place to stay and sleep. Worth the price as many of the other hotels near the seawall were twice the price.

The hotel offers good value. Service is good, and the room is relatively clean and comfortable. However, as suites go, the suites are very small. Also, the walls are paper thin. We could hear, conversations and TV in adjoining rooms, to the level whe knew what was being said. I don't think I would stay here again, for this reason.

Expedia did not have the pet fee listed until after you click confirm when making the reservation, so there is a $75.00 non refundable fee. I would not have booked the hotel. The pet walk area was filthy and not picked up, dog poop on every spec of grass. I don't understand paying, at least leave something so we can pick up ourselves. We stayed here when the hotel 1st opened and were very impressed!! This time we noticed lots of things that needed fixed-soap tray pulled off wall and missing in tub, door was completely out of line! Light and sound came in all around door. No smoking room smelled of stale smoke. Very disapointed they have not kept up a nice hotel!!

Very nice and helpful staff. Room was about halfway clean, sheets felt fine - but we did have a roach show up in the middle of the floor - where there is one . . .there are many more you don't see. Also, the air conditioner was evidently broken - the only way to turn on and off was the plug. The hallway walls were wet to the touch and the carpet at […] the edges of the hall was wet. When the air conditioner wasn't running . . . I could hear water running . . . hmmm . . . sounds like there was at least one if not more water leaks in the walls. Evidently management was aware of it because they had dehumidifiers up and down the hallway. The hotel itself seemed like it could have been exactly what we wanted . . . if only it had been kept in good shape. This was the worst room I have stay at I book a queen got a horrible full size went to the desk ask the girl that I book the queen suite how did I did a full size room. I have always use Hotel.com to book love the site but this hotel stay was horrible!!!

Im giving this review 4 stars because the only problem we had was with the shower. It didnt work. But as soon as I let management know, we were given another room. I just didn't like the fact that my family was soaking wet from swimming and ready to shower, and now we had to pack our things and move to a different room.

Very pleasant. It was out of the heavy traffic, easily accessible, and plenty of parking area.

we had the 1room suite and just right space for the two of us. Bed was comfy and room is clean, there's a little stove and dishwasher and few basic kitchen stuffs like plates, silver wares, pots, tupperware set, etc., which you can have your own meal as we do esp. breakfast, we can have our own cup of tea anytime and the coffee supply was real good, […] not by the beach but was easy to find, The reception staff was nice and helpful for information we need where to we wanted to see. We like the location though as it's safer if ever the beach goes bad as it's away by the beach area. The kitchen was nice, except that there was a live bug in the drawer with the silverware. The pots and pans were new and they supplied dish soap. Other than that there was a stain on the bed sheet and one of the towels, the hot tub was slimey and gross to look at, and the walls were very thin which let a lot of noise in the room and made it difficult […] to sleep. Fully stocked kitchenette, large refrigerator, comfortable bed (they offer either foam or feather pillows) and soft fluffy towels – everything was great!

this hotel was not at all worth the price. I was told when I booked it through hotels.com that I was getting a 2 room suite, with queen size beds in bedroom, seperate living room area with a kitchen, and pull out couch. They also told me I would have 2 roll away beds, because we were bringing my niece and nephew along with our kids. We get there, and […] it was one room with 2 double beds. NO queen, NO couch, NO roll away bed! Staff said they could do nothing to help. Tried to at least get blankets, and pillows for kids to sleep on the floor. They could not even provide that!! I had to go at midnight to buy blankets, pillows, and air matresses for the kids. We stayed last summer at Embassy Suites on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, TX. We paid the exact same price per night, but the stay there was fantastic. We actually had a 2 room suite, with queen beds, and a pull out couch, and a small kitchen. They provided everything we asked for and more. Embassy provided breakfast, as well as free drinks in the lounge around 4 with snacks for the kids. And we were directly on the River Walk. Having had such a wonderful experience with them, I expected the same for my money with Candlewood. Candlewood was a HUGE let down! I was very angry, and will never stay in one of their hotels again. Very large and spacious rooms! Wonderful fully stocked kitchen! Beautiful pool and hot tub!! Breathtaking outdoor patio and gas grill! Clean hotel. Wonderful staff.

My reservation check in time was 3:00pm I got there at 3:01 and I had no wait time ,because my room was ready and very clean . The staff was so sweet and nice to me and my little dog . Loved my room and enjoyed my stay there. I will say this when I go back to Galveston, that is the only place I will stay . I had an awesome experience felt very safe […] and you will too. The hotel was nice. Spent most of our time out exploring the island, but was very convienently located at intersection of 2 main streets. 3-4 minute drive to beach and no more than 10 minutes to any place we went. Only downside was air conditioning in room was either off or blasting at full. Stove/range top and fridge in room worked well.

This was a nice hotel and comfortable to stay in. The only bad thing was they just painted our door and the fumes were strong. Also the toilet paper roll kept falling off. Convienent location and close to where we wanted to go for the day which was Moody Gardens.

Things were great from the get go. It started with the desk clerk, Melanie. She greeted us as if she owned the hotel herself. We were checked in at 1230 pm, way before the normal 3pm. Later in the day, we invited our son and daughter in law and 2 grandkids over for a swim. The pool and hot tub were very clean and quite large. After dining out that night, […] we returned to our room and slept like a baby. The bed was very comfy and the entire hotel, inside and out was very quiet. The room was nice but the phone, microwave, and ice machine in room did not work. It was not close to breakfast places or beach. The girl was very nice behind the desk but did not know where a play was.

Very nice, beautiful pool, friendly staff, only 7 blocks to the beach. No housekeeping, but snacks and towels were readily available. Would stay here again.

I would decrease the prices of the items in the pantry. Have moisterizer in the rooms and not have a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner

Although the hotel is not close to the beach it was still located centrally to all that we needed and wanted ! The rooms were clean, comfortable and cool ! The staff was friendly and the amenities were great !!
