Hotel was nice and near the highway. The neighborhood/town is in bad shape. No where to eat nearby and the downtown was half boarded up. The hotel was the best building in the town. "One little hiccup but overall GREAT!"
When we first entered the room, it had not been cleaned at all. We returned to the front desk and were moved. The second room was clean and comfortable. I hope the family who got the first room found it cleaned. The hotel was sold out for that night and the night manager cleaned the first room himself. "Worst Hampton Ever! Stunk Like Cigarette Smoke :("
Came for monster truck rally, good location, looks nice and newer. Pulled up and was impressed, but concerned about the dump of a hotel 10 feet behind it. When checking in the person at the desk was dressed like a hobo in jeans and a sleeveless shirt, totally unprofessional. Splurged on the most expensive suite we could for the kids, was pretty small […] compared to other hampton suites. Carpet was sticky and room was so-so. 1/2 of the floor was smoking and you could smell a horrid waft of smoke smell once you stepped off the elevators, even the rooms had a lingering smoke smell. Even worse, as we walked out that night the desk clerk was standing right in front of the doors smoking a cigarette and we had to walk right through it. The door even says "clean air environment"... don't know what hilton's idea of clean air environment is, but this sure ain't it. We've stayed in dozens of hamptons and this is nice and new, but one of the worst hampton experiences we've ever had. I advise you to stay away unless you're a smoker. We were there as a reunion with friends who live 13 hours away from us and the receptionist told us that it was an unusually low weekend. We had a wonderful time with the kids in the pool and loved the buffet breakfast there to talk and catch up with each other. We also played cards in the lobby and watched a Cubs game on the TV there. The hotel was clean and quite. Everything was just as you would hope for. The staff was very friendly, at checkin and checkout. They and Hotels.com even refunded my second night when we had to leave early. The only issue we had was using a GPS to find the hotel.
