Embassy Suites Charleston - Historic Charleston - Charleston

Disappointing at Check IN. Hotel.com said that parking was free when I made the reservation. Upon Check in we were told that parking was from $14. to $18 a day. I was not expecting that surprise upon arrival. We chose that hotel because the Hotel.com agent said that parking was free.

This was a great place to stay on the edge of the Charleston Historic District. You can walk to most of the historic district or take the free trolley. The staff was very friendly. The free breakfast was terrific. Would recommend this hotel for either business or leisure travelers

The location of this hotel is just perfect and was it not for the dark rooms, with only tiny "inside" windows (and no willingness from the front desk to help us out) I would have rated the hotel higher. Breakfast was good though. So if interested in this hotel, be sure to ask NOT to be at the Mezzanine when booking!

Great historic hotel. Delicious breakfast and fun happy hour. Staff was helpful. We liked everything about this hotel. Free shuttle pick-up right down the street.

A very comfortable yet affordable hotel in a wonderful city. Very close to Charleston visitor center

We brought our granddaughter to Charleston to share the rich history of this beautiful city. The Embassy Suites was a perfect place to stay. With it's own rich history, beautiful accommodations, and close proximity to everything, we all enjoyed our visit enormously.

I chose this hotel because it's in downtown Charleston, close to the Citadel, walking distance to shops and restaurants. It's history and public areas are charming, but we hated room M101. the suites windows opened to the hallways, so you had to keep your drapes closed, making the room even darker. Lack of pictures/paintings, uneven walls, cracked tiles […] in bathroom, handicapped bathroom (water was everywhere after a shower!), living room TV missing cables was just too depressing!! They accomodated our request to change rooms the next morning readily. Our new room had a window and therefore, much brighter and made us feel more comfortable and wanted to stay in suite more. We didn't like the weekend breakfast buffet served in atrium as much as the one in the dining room. The food smells wafted in the rooms --> unpleasant. Overall, I would recommend this hotel because of its history, charm, location, amenities and service. But say no to M101!! The entire floor was clearly built to add more rooms. Lisätietoja

We had a great stay at this hotel. Close to the visitors center, and 3 trolley lines. Breakfast buffet was over the top. Excellent food, and plenty of it. Afternoon reception was a nice addition. Clean room, and good size. Helpful staff. We will stay there again.

Friendly staff. Shabby furniture. Crowded bedroom. Worst Embassy Suites Hotel I have stayed in. Very expensive for the quality, or perhaps more accurately stated: the lack of quality provided. There were so many better options available at a lesser cost. Also, the location is really at the far edge of the Historic District. The suite I was in was […] classified as handicapped accessible - it was only with extreme difficulty. There was a standard height tube with a multitude of bars to hoist yourself into and out of the tub. I had expected a walk-in shower. Only stayed one night and moved to a hotel a block away that was considerably less expensive and more than exceeded my expectations with respect to comfort, furnishings and overall ambience. Beautiful hotel, loved the history of it! Staff was very nice, breakfast very good. Only complaint was kind of noisy at night. We were on 4th floor by maintenance closet and it seemed someone was putting things away in it at 4AM, maybe stocking it for next day?

Wow, this stay worked out for the four of us. Free breakfast and evening reception. They served chicken tenders and pork chops, and the bar tender was excellent. So basically we dined for nothing and got drunk for nothing. Really worth it.

The hotel was in a great location easy walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping. It looks like a castle on the outside and smells like one on the inside. The lobby was very clean but the rooms and atrium were very outdated. Our room was dark and smelled of cigarette smoke every time we walked in. Perfect location for visiting the College of Charleston also close to great restaurants Make sure you ask for a room with an outside window - some of the rooms only have windows to the inside and are dark.

We had a an excellent stay at this hotel. The breakfasts were superb and the complimentary cocktail and hor de ovres were awesome. It was very clean and the service terrific. I felt like I was staying in a bit of Charleston History. I would definitely stay there again.

We picked this place because of the great rate, and would stay again because of location and comfort of the room. We had a suite, with a kitchenette and small table/desk. I've visited Charleston several times and have always stayed down town. This is by far your best bang for the buck. Complimentary happy hour and cooked to order breakfast that is pretty delicious. My family and I really loved our stay at Embassy Suties in downtown Charleston. It was closes to all of the things we wanted to do. The market place, mall and cartage rides. We stayed 4 nights over the Christmas holidays and picked this hotel due to its proximity to interesting Charleston sites, most within walking distance. However, the suite was very dark and gloomy, only one window in the bedroom which was mostly blocked by the large wardrobe. No closets, very tiny bathroom, hardly adequate for 3 adults. I really enjoyed this hotel. The room was spacious with two tv's. Housekeeping was good and they even had a free drink and buffet available to hotel guest. I would highly reccomend this hotel.

Overall it is a wonderful hotel with great services - fresh breakfast with lots of choices, manager receptions, business center, etc. The room was quite large and very clean considered this is a historic hotel. My problem is that I am a light sleeper and we stayed on the mezzanine floor between 2nd and 3rd floor. The hotel itself was okay, but needed some sprucing up. Breakfast was the highlight of the hotel experience. Parking cost was ridiculously high. Self park was NOT available Sunday night, forced to valet park.

Free breakfast with hot, custom-made omelet made my day! Staff was super nice. Suite style rooms are spacious and well-laid out with refrigerator, bar sink, and microwave in the room. Living area has a pull-out sofa for sleeping. two TV's on in the living room and one in the bedroom.

Obviously a historic old building, but the remodel was mediocre and cold. The room was small and oddly shaped. The bed and bedding did not seem up to Embassy standards. I've never been in an E.S. that didn't have an indoor pool, and the outdoor pool was not heated and unusuable. Our stay in Charelston was amazing! The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and the location was convenient. Not to mention the free 2 hour happy hour and the complimentary breakfast buffet with made to order omlettes. We will definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the Embassy Suites during our first visit to Charleston and were so pleased with how close the hotel is to the main shopping area, the Farmer's Market and a lot of great bars and restaurants. Plenty of sights to see and good places to eat within easy walking distance from the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I like Embassy Suites in general and the extra room they normally give you. This room didn't disappoint. Nice sized sitting room with an extra television. Cable TV was great (about 60 channels with HBO). The location was pretty good. Within a mile of most everything we wanted to see/do. Room service was good and the hotel has a nice bar/restaurant. cook to order omelet was good if they can separate the buffet line and cook to order line will be perfect. The bed was not comfortable i go bad back pain from it. Everything else is great. love the location, next to the park, it was great.

The one problem with this room was that when anyone used water (in our room or surrounding rooms), the pipes made an annoying noise. Otherwise, this hotel was worth its price.

Last minute stay was awesome! Great location, spacious, friendly staff, and a wonderful breakfast & happy hour.

This place was located right in the heart of historical Charleston. The free breakfast was amazing!!! build your own omelet.. yummy...:)

Loved the location of the hotel for our first Charleston visit. The hotel was old and beautiful. Very convenient, we could walk everywhere. The only problem we had was the place was so humid, our clothes were damp. Maybe it was a problem with the a/c. !t was right next to a huge park.

On Sat. morning the Garbage truck came at 4:30 am. It was right below our room and continued to collect for a good 30 min. We had a small child in the room also. It interrupted all our sleep . That was our only complaint.

It IS close to the "city" sights -- I could have had a better map or perhaps a better sense of direction, but it is lovely to walk through the College of Charleston area as well as King Street and the parks. I would stay here again.

The Embassy Suites-Historic Charleston was perfect for us as we were moving our daughter in to the College of Charleston. A short 5-10 minute walk to her dorm and so close to all of the sights!! Would definitely stay there again!
