The hotel is clean and simple, reasonable rates, good location. I would stay again if I could not find a place closer to town.

We had a tiny room with no more than a foot between the end of the bed and the wall. The paper thin walls seemed to amplify the all-night-long television blaring from the room next door for our three night stay. The bathroom was modern with a very clean and bright shower, which is more important than the other items the room lacked, such as warmth and style. The hotel was fairly new and clean. This hotel was booked because it had air-conditioning and as we were there at the end of june, we thought we would need it. The air-conditioning did not work and we had to sleep with the window open, and as we were on the first floor, security was a concern . We just satyed one night at the Starr Inn but we enjoyed it a lot. 1. The reception personnel - Marion and Anna were just aweome. Helped us with room access, immediate parking, even took pictures with our kids. Getting to the hotel was easy from the train station via bus. Travelling to and from the major attractions on foot or by bus was quick and easy. We (2 adults and 2 children, aged 8 & 10) were always treated courteously by the staff and we enjoyed our stay. When in town we shall surely return here as our home base.

Location for Christkindlmarkt couldn't be beat. 10 min walk and you are in the center of shopping, concerts, and the market. Room could have been cleaner. Beds were fine, but we opened the curtains to look out the window and that part of the room's floor obviously hadn't been swept/cleaned in quite some time.

The location of the hotel and the cost, relative to other hotels in Salzburg, were the selling points for us. We spent three nights and went into the old city every day.

This hotel is ideal for walking into the old city of Salzburg. In just moments (less than 5 min.) through the tunnel, you arrive at the famous shopping street, restaurants, and bars. Even better, if you can (if available), ask the front desk if you can upgrade to the suite (room 407) -- enjoy a living room with kitchenette, entertaining space and a […] massive balcony that could rival any major hotel property. Suite or not, there is a shared balcony on top of the hotel with a 360 view of the area and the ruins that are situated on the neighboring hillside. There is a grocery (Spar) with an ATM just a few steps away as well as a salon. The hotel was easy to get to from the autostrada and had private parking in an underground garage. The garage was a little cramped, but my SUV got in and out with no problem. The room was clean and secure, but thank goodness it was a unseasonably cool day because the room A/C doesn't seem to work. The locationo of thei hotel to the main street or commercial center is a walking distant that is you have to pass througjt a tunnel to get there. The only set back if you are traveling by train is very inconvienance specialy dragging a big luggages. The hotel is nice for a 3 star.

Overall stay was fine. We missed the Fridge in the room but the receptionsit was kind enough to store our food and warm it in the hotel equipment. Location of the hotel is quite good - close to the center.

I was delighted when the hotel had AIR CONDITIONING as the website did not indicate this. The rooms were large and comfortable by Europe standards. And although the hotel isn't in the old city, a pedestrian tunnel across the street takes you through to a monument that is only 2 blocks from the middle of everything. 4 blocks overall, about 8-10 minutes […] walk. We really liked our stay in this hotel, except for the initial check-in with an unfriendly, not very helpful man. But the woman was very nice that was there in the evenings. This is a great place to stay if you're driving there. They have underground parking, expensive, but worth it. And you don't have to drive through any tiny one-way roads in the […] old town part. My friends and I visited Salzburg to see the sights from The Sound of Music and wanted somewhere inexpensive and comfortable to stay. The Star Inn Zentrum fit the bill perfectly and did not disappoint. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable and all we needed as we spent so little time there. The beds were slightly harder than I would say is standard but still managed to sleep very well and it was quiet in and around the hotel with no loud guests or traffic noise. The location was good, just 5 minutes walk to the centre of Salzburg and the neighbourhood felt safe day and night. The staff were very helpful and friendly, recommending places to eat and arranging taxis and left luggage and even taking photos for us. Convienently located on the main street leading into old town area. Pleanty of parking in the garage but usually tough to find space on the side roads. Parking was 10 Euro but secured and safe. Have a full size American Van with roof racks (Uplander) and still had about 6 inches of clearance at the entrance. (Always hesitate about parking with our larger […] vehicle but it worked out well). Room was actually large for Europe - same size or a tad bigger than in the States. Wood floors was nice, you can actually see what you are walking on. Bathroom was very clean, large enough for 2 at a time only if one is in the shower. Secure Hotel, you might get past the lobby but entrance to each floor requres a key to access the hallways. Takes only about 8 minutes to walk to the Old Town area. Walked everywhere unless you want to travel beyond the city limits. Other than wanting to try new locations/experiences, would stay again and recommend. Only bad thing - breakfast bar is very nice but way too expensive. I believe it was 10 Euro ($14) and didn't want to spend $50 for 3 people when my 7 year old would have only ate a banana and some toast. We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Hotel location was very convenient to major attractions as well as good restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. Star Inn is pretty comparable to other roadside chains like Holiday Inn or Best Western, but a little nicer decor. This hotel is just outside the altstadt of Salzburg, but still within walking distance to all attractions (except Hellbrun Castle). Just a walk through the pedestrian tunnel to be right in the heart of Salzburg (perfect for an after dinner stroll!). Star Inn was clean, with swecure parking and good bathroom and bedroom facilities. Much better inside than it looks from the outside! Would go back.

I found the breakfast lacking for as pricey as it was. Ditto for the parking charge. You may not want to bring a car if you are going to stay here. What was most troubling though was the lack of friendliness and helpfulness of most of the staff. I stood at the desk for about ten minutes, while two men in ties kept looking for someone to help me. A very nice, basic hotel. Small but comfortable room, adequate size bathroom. Free wireless Internet, but you do have to pay for parking in a secure underground garage. Away from old town, but an easy 5-10 minute walk through the tunnel to get there.

Prinzipiell waren wir mit dem Hotel zufrieden, es gab allerdings ein paar Beanstandungen. Das Frühstücksservice hat leider gar nicht funktioniert, leere Tablets etc. wurden erst nach Hinweis unsererseits wieder aufgefüllt. Für ein 3-Sterne Hotel nicht besonders gut. Die Betten waren leider zu hart, bei einer maximal 10cm hohen Matraze ist der fehlende […] Lattenrost (die Matraze lag auf einer Holzplatte!!!) nicht akzeptabel. Die Lage ist super, man ist in 5min durch den Tunnel fußläufig in der Altstadt. Die Zimmer sind allerdings ziemlich klein und eng. Mit Kind und Beistellbett ist das leider fast grenzwertig. Wer nicht besonderen Wert auf Sauberkeit legt und Betten mit schlechten Matratzen nicht scheut ist hier richtig. Die Lage ist ausgezeichnet und man ist in 5 Minuten in der Altstadt. Für einen Kurzurlaub für eine Nacht ausreichend. Schimmel in der Dusche. Sonst sind die Zimmer sauber.

Wir- ein Ehepaar mit kleinem Hund- haben Ende August 11 zwei Tage im Hotel Star Inn Salzburg übernachtet . Das Zimmer war relativ klein, aber völlig ausreichend, die Lage und Nähe zu den Festspielen ( gute fünf Minuten zu Fuß zum Festspielhaus!! ) super und das Personal sehr höflich und zuvorkommend. Wir kommen gerne in den nächsten Jahren wieder.

nachdem meine Gäste aus Südafrika zufrieden waren habe ich auch meine Geschäftsprtner aus Russland, die ab 6. September Salzburg besuchen werden, das Starinn empfohlen.

Perfekt läge mycket nära Gamla stan, man bara passerar igenom Neutor och är sedan vid Pferdeschwemme, alldeles intill Festspielhaus, närmare kan man inte bo till det priset. Personalen är trevlig och hjälpsam, allt är fräscht och välskött. Vad jag möjligtvis saknade var AC eller någon form av fläkt på rummet, det blev väldigt varmt på natten. Está a solo 4 o 5 minutos andando del centro turístico. Habitación muy básica pero moderna y funcional. Recomendable.

Hotel in centro, pulito, bagno nuovo, camera spaziosa, ma senza frigobar. Eccellente rapporto qualità/prezzo.

Valóban nagyon közel van a régi óváros, egy rövid séta alatt a nevezetességekhez, látnivalókhoz és a bevásárló részhez lehet jutni.

Insgesamt gesehen war das Hotel geradezu ideal. mit dem unfreundlichen Herrn an der Rezeption hat man ja zum Glück nicht allzuviel zu tun. Von dem Hotel aus erreicht man z.B.sehr schnell die Innenstadt mit der weltberühmten Getreidegasse. Aber auch andere Ziele sind schnell zu Fuß erreichbar.

Das Hotelgebäude ist neu, die Einrichtung ist modern und zweckmäßig. Die Lage ist optimal. Das Stadtzentrum und die zahlreichen Sehenswürdigkeiten sind innnerhalb von wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Frühstücksbüfett ist reichhaltig und wird regelmäßig - je nach Bedarf - nachgefüllt.
