Check in was smooth. Everything I needed was easily accessible. Very kid friendly hotel and my family would stay again.

Overall, I enjoyed staying here. I was in town alone for a conference at the convention center. The price was right for the amount that I was allowed to spend. I only stayed one night. But I knew if it had been more I would have enjoyed it. The staff was very nice. Allowed us to check in half an hour early. And the room was spotless and cozy. I'd definitely stay here again.

My car was parked the closest to the double entry doors in the front of this hotel. I woke the next morning to find that a my back-seat passenger window had been smashed out with a huge paving stone. I was told the manager would call me with the out come of the surveillance review but that call never came. Because I was in town for a medical appointment […] at Texas Children's with my son, I asked politely if the manager would comp our room for a second night and she absolutely refused and was unbelievably rude about the whole situation. At first she would not let us have our personal belongings still locked in the room since we needed somewhere to keep our personal belongings safe since the car had a window missing. She finally agreed to let us have our personal belongings from the room once I threatened to call the police and report our property stolen. She kept repeating the Hotel's non-liability policy with their parking lot but as I told her, comp'ing me for the second night doesn't even come close to the cost to fix my car. I need a room for a week that was near the Galleria area, and had a stove top and microwave. This was it. It had those things. It also had a high pitched whine on the fridge, a damp carpet, an odd perfumed cleaner smell, and no dish soap or sponge - just one single-use dishwasher soap with a note that they only cleaned the room once a week. I'm all […] for not wasting water and energy with clean sheets and towels every day, and was glad for that. I do think that an extended stay situation should have more frequent trash removal and a better cooking/self-cleaning set-up. Also, it's your standard hotel breakfast - cereal options, bagels, and then one rotating protein option. If you have any dietary restrictions at all, don't count on the breakfast working out for you. The hotel itself was nice, the surrounding area not so much to look at. We used the shuttle which was very convenient for us. There were 4 of us staying in the room for a 2 night stay. The room and bed was comfortable, but the pull out sofa was terrible. When we asked for another room with a better sofa bed, none were available. They said they would […] bring us a foam mattress pad which we never got, but our firends were able to get another room later in the day. Unfortunately, when we checked into the hotel there was a cleaning tray still in the Bathroom counter - so we were not sure if the staff was still planning on cleaning or simply left it there. Also, when the hotel management told us the shuttle runs every hour on the hour, we, unfortunately, learned from Natalie, the hotel desk clerk, who needs severe […] customer service training, the real process is that you have to call and schedule a pick up shuttle. For the value it seems like a good place, but it did not make a good impression with me. First thing, I get my key to my room and open the door to see the room is already taken. This is bothersome to me because while i'm an honest person I know a lot of people are not. I get a new room and the room is too warm. The AC doesn't work well and the room […] design is stupid. A wall separates the bed from the rest of the room, so the cool air can't reach me. So i'm warm and miserable. The trucking company across the street keeps me up with the constant "beep-beep" of backing up. There's also an annoying scratching type sound above my head. Needless to say, I didn't sleep at all. Very annoyed. The breakfast was ok. Great tasting, but the eating area was too small and the staff waited until something was completely out before even cooking a new batch. Dirty room; stained sofa; dried blood on comforter; gritty carpet; dirty coffee pot; pubic hairs on clean towels? Stay anywhere else but here.

The worst room I have ever stayed in as far as size. Information entered for request was 2 adults and 2 chidren. No way did it fit the bill, way too small.

The room was very nice and clean, but there were three issues with my stay. 1, the comforter,linens, pillow cases, etc didnt smell very good. They didnt smell dirty, but they lacked softener or something to make them smell nice and clean. 2, the ac/heat unit was right next to the bed so I really couldn't turn it on while I slept for fear of getting […] sick. 3, the coax connection on the tv was broke or loose because I had to wiggle it quite a bit just to get a clear picture. We booked 2 rooms on Tues night Jan 17, couple traveling with us could not make it due to sudden illness. As we were checking in , we asked Nickole for extra pillows, 3 hours and 2 more request later, Nickole grudglingly gave us 2 pillows and 2 pillowcases. We tried to settle down early knowing we had to be at MD Anderson @ 6am. The airconditioner did not work, temp in the room was 80*. We tried calling Nickole, she wouldn't answer the phone. We went to the desk again to complain about the airconditioner, Nickole sent us a driver to see about the problem. He put it on and it worked, he left, then it whent off which is what we told them was happening. We were really beginning to be frustrated by this time, it was getting late. We again told Nichole about the problem, she said she could do nothing to help. We asked for another room, Nichole said she couldn't do that, there were none available. We told her that we had booked two rooms,we wanted that one, she agreed, gave us key to another room which didnot key did not work. Tiny room,double bed, ancient TV. We slept, in shere fatique by this time. We will never stay there again. Don't believe their website discription, try to print out their questroom discription, it doesn't . This hotel is near the medical area of Houston and it almost felt like a hospital waiting room when I checked in. MANY medical related guests staying at this hotel, some in wheel chairs, even wearing hospital garb. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful though. The breakfast selection was good.

The hotel was quite nice and a short drive to area attractions. The neighborhood is a little sketchy but the property itself is quite nice. I did not get the late check out that I wanted but I knew that was a possibility going in and planned accordingly. The kitchen was great to have the morning of my race. Staff was very friendly, room was comfortable and clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, common areas were clean and nice. For the price, I thought it was great. I will stay here again.

We stayed here for New Years and it was close enough to get downtown and nice to stay at.

I've lived in the Houston area my whole life but recently moved away. I came back to the city for a concert & chose this hotel based on its positive reviews and location (having lived in the Med Ctr area the last 6 yrs, I'm very familiar with the area). I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely decorated & nice the hotel is. It's not a huge hotel but […] offers everything you'd really need for a night or two away from home---an enormous dvd library, 24hr convenience store, shuttle service (w/in radius), and free breakfast (ours was NOT continental, but actual breakfast with cereals, pastries, a waffle maker, juices). Another plus for me since I was traveling alone, was that all of the rooms' entry doors are within the hotel, not outside. The room itself was very cozy, had a clean kitchenette, and the bathroom looked like one you would see in a model home. I'm not sure if it was just the night that I was there, but it was very quiet. Again, it's not the fanciest hotel to stay in if you're looking to celebrate some grande occasion (ie bachelor/ette party, bday party, graduation) BUT it is an excellent hotel for people who simply want to stay near Houston's center & have a nice, clean place to stay a few days. The area it's in may look questionable to some, but as I said, I lived in the area 6yrs & can say it's not a really bad part of town. No matter where one is, they should always practice reasonable precaution. It's best to have your own car, unless you're going to the places the shuttle is going...but the area is FULL of places to eat & do a little shopping. I would definitely come back here again. In Houston to do a little dining out and visit the Museum of Natural Science. Stayed here on a Friday night. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Room was very nice: modern decor, comfortable furniture, nice kitchenette, etc. We had a good view of the pool from the 3rd floor and noise was not a problem. I loved staying at this hotel. It was easy to access, the parking lot was well lit. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel offered a hot breakfast the next morning. I will have no qualms about staying at this hotel again. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Medical Center area.

Great staff. Exceedingly helpful and always cheerful. Handy location to pool at Campus Recreation Center -Univ of Houston. Wonderful room and excellent breakfast. I would highly recommend it and stay here again. Next time I look for a hotel I will look for a Choice one.

We stay at this hotel each time we come to Houston. It is close the doctor's office we go to and the hotel is always clean, quiet, and comfortable. Thanks Mainstay!

It had a lot of amenities for the price. Comfortable, Knowable , friendly staff. Breakfast was great. Shuttle service a must have with a working time table. I would definiately stay there anytime.

this hotel was surprisingly clean and updated. although it had a queen bed that was somewhat comfortable. I did not care to much for it . overall, it was very nice to stay at. it was a good last minute find!

The is right by the not-so-good neighborhood, as my local friends told me. You couldn't walk to anywhere. They provide shuttle within 2 mile radius which reaches about the museum district, as well as the convention center. The shuttle driver in daytime is kind of rude though, he waves me around instead of talking to me, and ignores my "thank you." It was a nice stay for Rice graduation. The hotel did not surprise us with any bad feature. Everything exactly like advertised. The room was clean and neat. Nice people. The only thing to complain was the sofa. If you need to use it as an extra bed, be prepared for a very uncomfortable mattress it is equipped.

My entire family was in Houston for a wedding - this hotel was perfect! Great rooms - very big with lots of space. Free Shuttle, great food, free DVD rentals. Excellent!

The service staff were all VERY nice, which goes a long way. However, 1. The internet was constantly disconnecting (or terribly slow, hard to tell). It was basically unusable for normal business things like checking web-based email. This was from both our laptops, so definitely not just "our problem". 2. The toilet had problems with the flush handle […] getting stuck. 3. We had to leave the first morning because we couldn't turn the shower on. #2 and #3 were fixed when we came back the end of the day (after we reported it), but still worked poorly after fixing. Internet was always flaky. That's 3 strikes for me. I don't expect more than basic comfort and cleanliness from a plce like this but if I am stressed because I can't check email or because I'm not sure the toilet will flush or I can't take a shower... come on. The Hotel was in a very convenient location for the sights we wanted to see, however, our room was not completely clean. The bathroom had an open bottle of shampoo with dirty towels in it. When we notified them, they just brought us clean towels and didn't clean the bathroom. Then one of our pillows had blood on it. When we called the front desk the […] receptionist told us that she was alone there and we had to pick up the pillow, no big deal, but when we got down there, there was 2 other employees walking around down stairs. Arrived at hotel past 11 pm. Got the last room/ queen bed which happens to be next to check in desk. Room felt cramped, small. Missing carafe for coffee maker, missing remote for TV. Front desk explained that since it was the last room they sometimes take stuff from it for other rooms. Over all the hotel was very nice, location great, check in easy, room very comfortable, what was VERY disappointing was housekeeping! We had a late check in and put our "do not distrub" sign on the door, removed it when we left the room the next morning by 10 a.m., housekeeping was in the halls doing rooms when we left. To our surprise when we came […] back to the room that evening, our room had not been serviced!! When I called the front desk they said because of the "do not disturb" sign housekeeping had bypassed our room and they do not recheck once they do that. My question was that they were on the shortend of the hallway about 3 doors from our room when we left the room, if they had started on the other end I could see that they passed up our room but where they were at and the time factor they had not even done the rooms next to us, but because of the sign they just checked us off the list. I stayed due to bad weather in order to not travel over icy overpasses and bridges in the 40 mile trek home. I found this hotel/suites very convenient, less than 5 minutes from my work, very clean, very comfortable and a great value! I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family members. Nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. The only negative was that some of the exercise equipment didn't work but they had free weights and a bowflex type machine that did.
