Fairmont Heliopolis the best hotel in cairo in my opnion, it has what the travellers want such as coffee shops and many vraity of resturants, staff very freindly and many things that words not enogh to explain, best pool also. and safe.

We had a week away to see Egypt and enjoy the hotel. Restaurants and lobby areas where great. Many locals uses the hotel and gives a live in the evenings as they are top dressed. Heated pool under construction and that meant a week in a 5 star hotel with out a pool!:) Spa area is great. I used the gym 3 times and was super. The personal was ok. My lowest experience was when we came in the reception and asked if there was a TV on demand so we could see a movie in English once all 80% are in arabik, german, spanish and a few news channels in English . This is one of the finest hotels in Cairo. Make sure your reservation is for Fairmont Heliopolis TOWERS as the other part of the hotel is much older and well used. It's location near the airport is ideal for making flight connections and timely transfer to the airport. The shuttle bus provided is excellent from the hotel to the airport, but finding […] it from the airport to the hotel is somewhat confusing. If you are going to the pyramids or downtown Cairo, allow at least one hour travel each direction as traffic is crazy busy. Facilities, restaurants and staff at the hotel are first class. Lovely very large hotel, , nice gardens and pool area. Large variety of restaurants, we ate at the Italian New Years Eve, great food and lovely service. Would stay there again.

location is all in Cairo due to traffic: excellent location for airport and OK for New Cairo, not convenient for the city centre or tourist sights. Massive choice of restaurants in the two linked hotels. Very close under the flight path for airport but noise not a problem at night.

I have stayed at the Fairmont numerous times when traveling to Cairo. This last visit was by far the best. The rooms have been totally upgraded, and are on par with any 4-5 star hotel in Europe. This hotel is very contemporary with clean rooms 3 swimming pools and a few restaurants. The only thing I didn't like was the bathtub, because it's too narrow. Other than that, it was a great place to stay.

Hotel is quite large, but attention remains personal. The room is comfortable although hard to watch TV and use PC at same time, but not a big deal. Dinner at entrecote was predictable, but not bad. Dinner at Thai restaurant was really wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have stayed at the Le Meridien down the street and like this one better.

I booked on line, expecting a dreary airport hotel for a one night stay before an early flight. Instead, we found a luxury hotel with excellent service on every level, from check-in to room cleanliness, to restaurants. Of the latter, there were 5 or 6 to choose from in all price ranges. The food and service were excellent. We had pizza and salad in […] beautiful, contemporary surroundings with friendly professional service that one expects in a 3 star Michelin restaurant. A note: I left my favorite black jacket in the room closet by mistake, and when we returned from our Nile Cruise 8 days later, I stopped at the hotel and inquired at the desk as to whether anyone had found it, although I had little hope. Not only did they remember us, but they made a quick phone call to the Lost and Found dept. and voila! They had my jacket. Both the woman from Lost and Found and the man at reception refused a tip. Let me add that Cairo traffic is horrendous, and if you need an airport hotel or just a trip to the pyramids (downtown Cairo can be avoided) this is the place to stay. Unfortunately, the Egyptian Museum and the Khan al-Khalili souk are in downtown Cairo, where a 20 minute drive takes an hour, without exaggeration. This hotel is quite far from the tourist spots in Cairo, but it is an impressive hotel with a long lobby, I was requesting for a Segway for my use since I have some difficulty walking.

The Fairmont hotel was an exceptional looking hotel. Upon entering the hotel it has everything you would want in a 5* hotel. The checking in Service was great. I was allowed to check in early without being charged and extra day. But the room I was given was not 5* quality. apparently they are in the process of upgrading their rooms so half of the floor […] was upgraded with new paint and new carpet a total renovation reflecting what the outside of the hotel looked like. then the other side of the hotel still had the loook of the seventies. A complete 180 from the otherside. once I walked into the room it was very neat and clean, nothing even romotely showed that this was a 5* hotel, it reminded me of staying at a Motel and the bed was horrible. I felt like I was sleeping on cardboard. It was the worst night I had there. Luckily I was only there 1 night to catch my flight the next morning. The hotel staff by the pool wasn't exactly the greatest. We had to flagged down a waiter to get a menu and he never came back to take our order.
