The Somerset on Grace Bay - Providenciales

We just returned from our 10 day stay at The Somerset and loved it! This was our family vacation with our 4 children ages 10, 8, 6 and 3. We had a 2 bedroom ocean view suite with stunning views of the ocean and the property. The hotel is gorgeous and probably the most beautiful compared to those around it. The grounds are immaculate and the pool area […] perfect. The pool was cold but it didn't bother the kids! Our room was clean, homey and comfortable. This is a very quiet hotel and many days we were the only ones at the pool or beach. It was like our private escape in paradise! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Restaurants are close by with just a short walk on the beach. Breakfast every day at the pool area was nice. The town area with shops and restaurants is even within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay. The beach and pool area are very nice. We were a bit disappointed in the lack of food and beverage service, we were expecting service more like a hotel vs condo rental, but there are several alternatives within walking distance. The Concierge service was very helpful in making our day trip reservations and hooking us up with a great […] taxi driver that did an outstanding 1/2 day tour of the island. Given the price of the property charging for use of bicycles seemed silly. Our 2 bedroom suite with water view was beautiful, contained upscale finishes and appliances. The twice daily maid service was exceptional and the hotel staff was very friendly. A general note on visiting the island - take plenty of small bills - tipping taxi service is expected and getting change can sometimes be a problem?!? Lisätietoja

We had a number of serious disappointments with out stay at the Somerset. First of all, we had requested as high a floor as possible for our oceanfront 1 bedroom suite - when we arrived we were put on the 2nd floor - only after we complained were we then moved to a unit 1 floor up on the 3rd floor - which had obviously been available all along, which […] begs the question why we weren't put there to start with. Secondly, there were absolutely no amenities open at the hotel - the main pool was under construction (which we were not notified about prior to our arrival), there were no restaurants open on the propery - no snack bar available - nowhere that you could even get a cold drink. It was basically a condo building, not a resort. When we arrived, the hot water taps all spewed out brown water - even after the maintenance staff ran the water for almost an hour and pronounced it fine - we still had brown water from the hot water taps the balance of the trip. We were never able to use the bathtub. Internet service in the rooms worked for the first day of our 5 day trip - then completely shut off with no notification or warning. To get internet access we had to go to the front desk area for the balance of our trip. Overall, we were very, very disappointed with our experience at the Somerset. The staff tried very, very hard and were very polite and friendly - but unfortunately there was nothing they could really do when management had tied their hands. Lisätietoja

Overall we had a great experience at this hotel. The staff was genuinely very friendly, but not in a hurry either. Don't expect speedy service. It is a family resort. The free kids club they recently introduced is excellent. Tracy the person responsible is simply the top. She is caring and very creative. The kids love her whether they are 4 or 10 year old. The service is good and everyone tries hard to please and delight. However there are confusion at times - typical island sydrome. This was our second stay at the Somerset. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit with Ocean front views. The first room we stayed in had a few maintenance issues and the resort manager was very quick to move us to another room with no issues. Rooms are spacious, kitchen's well equipped. WiFi was hit and miss - it needs to be upgraded. It would be a good idea […] to organize some of your activities before you leave - eg. horseback riding on the beach was fully booked for 3 weeks from our first arrival. The beach activities - Hobie Cat, Long boarding, kayaking require separate fees for the week (this changed since the last visit). The Calypso dinner at the hotel was not worth the money. It was the best hotel I ever stayed at! The sheets were always clean and perfect. I felt like I was at home. They cleaned the room twice a day! Couldn't be better!

I had high expectations for the Somerset, and my stay far exceeded what I had hoped it would be. Our trip was a surprise for my wife's 40th birthday, so I booked with fingers crossed, and we were both completely blown away. The room was gigantic, beautifully furnished and equipped, and totally clean. The staff was friendly and attentive but never hovering […] or intrusive. The pools were gorgeous and the beach was a 10 out of 10. Both areas were practically silent, even with guests present, so relaxing in peace and quiet was a breeze. Watching the sunset while enjoying a mango daiquiri in the infinity pool each evening was icing on the cake, and the same could be said of the dips in both the ocean and the pool each night after dinner. I wouldn't hesitate to book at the Somerset again, and I would recommend it whole-heartedly to anybody interested in a beautiful, relaxing stay in Paradise. Lisätietoja

The hotel is right on Grace Bay. The beach is absolutely beautiful and not crowded. The staff was friendly and the food was good. Try the Satay Chicken at the poolside bar. It's delicious. First, the positives: the Somerset is a nice hotel, clean, and in very good condition. The employees at the hotel, everyone from the concierge to the wait staff, to the room staff, were extremely polite, friendly, with lots of smiles. When we had issues (discussed below), they were very responsive, though the issues were not always solved. The beach […] is extremely nice and the hotel is located next to other hotels with restaurants you can try. The negatives: this is a very expensive hotel, which we visited on our honeymoon. We have stayed at very nice hotels before, and for the money we paid, we expected a much higher level of quality in the rooms. Our room was small, but our biggest problem was that many of the rooms are connected to other rooms and separated only by a door and absurdly thin walls. Since there is no carpeting, you can hear EVERYTHING from the room next door. When a couple with two very loud kids checked in next door a day or two after our stay, we immediately requested a room change, which was granted, and moved to a smaller, less attractive room on a lower floor, which was located next to a laundry room. We were told that no one would be checking in next door during our stay but this turned out to be wrong. After two more days, we had the same problem as before and in a worse room. The hotel was lovely and the staff was very friendly. The food was very expensive at the hotel and on the island in general, so I would suggest visiting a grocery store to save food costs.

Best hotel I have ever stayed in throughout all my travels. Best island in the Caribbean for rest and relaxation. Very nice people and felt very safe. The most beautiful beaches and water. Highly recommend horseback riding with Provo Ponies. Also snorkeling with Caicos Tours was spectacular! Cannot wait to go back.

The staff and condition of the hotel made this one of the best family vacations we have had in a long time. The food at the hotel and other restaurants nearby was excellent. The room was spacious with more conveniences than we have at home. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very impressed with the island and its people. island was very clean and people friendly. Hotel room was actually a one bedroom condo and the resort was very nice. They cleaned twice a day. Not much to do on the island but relax and vey expensive. they can do better with the continental breakfast!

The Somerset staff was very attentive and helpful. The airlines lost our luggage and the car rental agency failed to provide our car on arrival. The staff took care of getting us a car the next day and worked dilgently helping us find our luggage. The maid service was excellent and so was the pool/beach staff. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a spectacular villa overlooking sophisticated pool and the pristine beach......private hot tub on the wrap around porch....the staff could not have been nicer, or more willing to be helpful. The location is wonderful, and even though the restaurant here was terrific, you can also walk along the beach to other hotel restaurants/bars […] in the evenings which was really sexy and fun. Passamos 5 noites no hotel, já no segundo dia vários funcionários já sabiam nosso nome. Tivemos que trocar de quarto, o primeiro tinha um barulho horrível da máquina do ar condicionado que fica no corredor ao lado da porta de entrada do quarto. O restaurante do hotel é bom, mas tem outros em outros hoteis melhores. A estrutura náutica é muito boa. O […] hotel possui mais cadeiras na piscina e na praia que hóspedes. Não há a necessidade irritante de se reservar lugares pois sobram cadeiras. O café continental está incluido. A academia é completa e a internet é de graça.
