La Grande Residence Vancouver at The Sutton Place Hotel - Vancouver

Right in the heart of Downtown. Great night life surrounding the hotel (e.g. lots of people walking and talking, bike riding,etc.) seemed to be a good safe environment.

I stayed at the residence at the Sutton Place Hotel for a conference I recently attended and was very pleased. The staff are wonderfully friendly without being robotic about it. The room was cleaned impeccably each day. Moreover, the layout of the room was smart and comfortable. I would highly recommend this to friends and colleagues.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. From the moment I walked in the staff were welcoming and friendly. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. The food from room service was excellent. Overall a great experience!

My stay at this hotel was wonderful. I plan to return again in six months.

Although the location of this hotel is very convenient and it was supposed to be a high-hand place, it was rather dingy and outdated, extremely noisy at night, and no breakfast was available on Sundays. I don't think this property deserves the 4 1/2 stars.The room was not clean as there were dishes in the dishwasher and outside on the deck. I had booked a deluxe room and when I called front desk to see if they had provided me with a deluxe room as it was not very deluxe they replied that it in fact was a premium room and I was upgraded. we had a great stay at the Sutton, convienant location and the kitchenette and patio were great for our girls weekend.

From the moment we drove up to the entrance of the hotel, we were treated with the utmost courtesy and respect. Checking into the hotel was quick, courteous and efficient. Our room(s) were extremely clean and well equipped with anything we may have needed. An overall A+ rating. Our only sort of negative experience was taking an elevator down to the […] parkade, where we wandered and wandered looking for our car. A fellow resident had just had the same problem and directed us up to the lobby where we took a different elevator to the parkade, and there was our car. We stayed at the Residence part of the hotel and were very impressed with their service. From the bellhop to the concierge to the front desk - they were always helpful and quick to attend to our needs. A nice hotel and the suite was great for our family (two young boys). We were right down town and close to everything. We will go back!

I honestly hate to give a poor review to the Sutton La Grande Residence, but I feel like I have to. The location is second to none, ideally situated in downtown Vancouver, central and walking distance to everything...even a grocery store next door. However, the hotel elevators are slow...painfully slow. It may sound petty, but when it's the 10th time […] you're waiting five minutes in the lobby for an elevator and a dozen other people are waiting too...you get a little tired of being crammed in nose to nose for the slow ride up. The worst thing though was the room air conditioner, every time it kicked on it was like someone starting a lawn mower...LOUD and everything in the room rattled. eventually we kept it turned off with the windows open, the city noise was much better than the AC. The final straw though was the check out, discovering the $40 a day parking fee that had not been mentioned prior to check out. Sure, I guess I should have asked, but was expecting something REASONABLE. All in all, it was enough that I won't be staying at the Sutton again, and honestly can't recommend it. We have stayed at the sutton place hotel and the La Grande Residence many times over the years. I have always been pleased with the rooms and services provided. This latest stay was no exception, my family and I were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

We arrived an hour early so no rooms/suites were available in the Grande Residence. We were offered the opportunity to wait or take a suite in the Sutton Place itself. We didn't really care about the kitchen so we took them up on their offer. The hotel is traditional and nice. The room decor was somewhat older but well kept. We didn't eat at the hotel […] so couldn't vouch for the restaurant but all the staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent hotel the staff were the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in. I went on new years the staff were great. I couldnt have asked for a better stay. About the only complaint was the pool spa being down. It is a great hotel I would reccomend it to anyone.

Rooms are in bad need of a paint job and overall updating! A deep cleaning would also be helpful! Good location but would not stay again unless rooms were updated!

Overall a great place to stay given its top notch location next to Robson, shopping and downtown. Service was excellent and in particular the concierge staff was very helpful. Hotel quality is very good although the room decor was a bit dated. We stayed in the La Grande part of the hotel which has the added benefit of kitchens that are fully stocked […] with appliances, dishes, cups and flatware. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were always smiling and friendly. Special thanks to the concierge who were more than helpful. We had a junior suite that was excellent value. Great to have a pool and sun terrace in the middle of Vancouver. Everything you need or want in Vancouver is within easy reach of the hotel.

Felt right at home but none of the housework to go with it. Enjoyed immensely and would recommend to anyone.

The one bedroom suite was adequate and we were offered a crib at check in. Watch out for parking though. We parked 90 minutes in the parkade below the hotel to check in and get settled, and that was $11.75. Across the street at the theatre was much cheaper. The rooms seem due for a bit of a makeover. Loved the location of this hotel right off Robson. Only stayed one night, but could see staying longer period. Had two one bedroom suites to accommodate the five of us. One room had to be "refreshed" with some sort of air cleaner as the previous occupant apparently smoked--not cool. Only other complaint was that the heating/air unit outside the bedroom […] window was extremely loud and woke me out of a sound sleep twice. Bed was comfortable, however. Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was fully equipped. There was a grocery store right across the street and you are in the heart of all the shopping that Robson Street has to offer. Loved the location, 10 min. walk to yale town and the gaslamp district. The staff were very professional.

We only stayed one night at this hotel, but we really enjoyed it. The staff was excellent. (Tip: Don't exchange your money at the airport. There is no fee at the hotel, and they give you a better exchange rate. Also, try to find other transportation from airport other than taxi. It cost us $35.) There weren't many restaurant choices near by that we […] were interested in, so we went next door to a very nice grocery store and got food from their deli. We took it back to the room and made use of the kitchen. Very nice room with a lot of space. We loved the bed and the pillows, too. Great price for 2 bedrooms with a living room/kitchen and 2 bathrooms. It was liking having a apartment in the city. A little worn around the edges but very comfortable although the room we had the 2nd night had a very noisy air conditioner on the balcony so you couldn't leave the doors open.

a all-suite annex immediately adjacent to the main hotel. relatively spacious, with large LCD TV in living room, comfortable bedrooms (1 king, 1 queen), 2 adequate baths (tub only, w/o shower, in master), minimally equipped full kitchen with coffee-maker, coffee and tea supplied. reasonable indoor pool area with hot tub, adequate excercise facility […] (2 ellip's, 2 tread's, stationary bikes and weight machines). extremely friendly and helpful service at all levels. nice in-house restaurant, weekend evening choclate buffets as an event. 10 minute walk to harbour and convention center. 5 minute walk to shopping on Robson St, or nightlive on Granville St. A favorite hotel Lisätietoja

very roomy and great location

Incredible...We could not have been treated any better. The staff is a class act. Room was incredible and kitchen was a godsend with a child. Look forward to staying there when we are in town again.

Location was great. Service and attitude of staff was great. Room was spacious, well appointed and comfortable.

We were delighted with the standard and quality of the 1-bedroom apartment. Very large, comfortable and fully equipped at little more than the price of the usual 4-star hotel room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Car parking is expensive at $30 per day but valet parking is included in the price. The Suttton Place is close to Robson St for shopping […] and only 15min walk from the harbour area and Seabus terminal. Vancouver is a lovely city and you can walk to most downtown areas of interest. Our party of five (three adults, two children) stayed in an 11th floor suite with two bedrooms, one-and-a-half baths, kitchen, living room, and dining room. The views were spectacular and the accommodations fit us well. An extra shower, however, would've been nice. The doormen, front desk, concierge, hotel shop personnel, and housekeeping all delivered […] outstanding service. Requests for extra towels, tea, etc. were filled almost instantly. The hotel's downtown location is convenient to public transportation, and we were able to walk to Stanley Park. Loud fire truck sirens were frequent during the day, but I don't recall being disturbed at night. Apparently, each suite has central air conditioning with the outside unit on the balcony. Although the unit was rather loud, its noise was never a problem when the balcony door was closed. ひとつだけ残念だったのは、インターネットが無料じゃなかったところ.。 台所とリビング付でベッドルームには大きな鏡があって 広くて快適です。 プールとジャグジーは無料でしたが、 着替え場所からプールまで遠いので、ビーチサンダルがないと裸足で階段を上がり降りすることになります。 そして水着の脱水機が欲しかったです。 スカイトレインの駅から少し歩きますが、便利な場所にあってよかったです。
