although the hotel was clean it was very basic. Not at all the picures on the website. We could barely walk around the perimeter of the bed as the room as was stuffy and small, no comfort at all

It does what it says it will. Clean, nice, great location just steps from Haymarket rail, and easy to get to walking from Murrayfield.

Comfortable, convienient and a good hotel to choose for either a city break or for a rugby match at Murrayfield, as it is half way between both and easliy walkable to both. However local transport is very good as on airlink route stop, Haymarket, and good local bus stops at end of road. Bit of road noise if at front of hotel but this is compensated […] for by very comfortable bed and you won't be awake too long! Good cafes, pubs and resturants near by. Having read the reviews after booking we nearly canceld, but thankfully we didnt. This is by far the cheapest hotel in edinburgh however its a little bit out of town and taxis are £8 each way so the extra cost can cancel out low cost, but there is a bus stop both ways at the end of the road day ticket is only £3.20, all buses that stop here go into […] town and number 26 brings you back also the buses are just as quick as the taxis due to bus lanes.the rooms a& bathroom are small but very clean and new. staff very friendly and helpful. I really liked this hotel! The staff were all very friendly and helpful! The room was small, but that is to be expected in a big city. It is a manageable walk to a lot of sites in the city. If you're not looking for a luxury hotel but still want something nice, this is a good place to stay!

My room was small but OK. The room service never cleaned my room proper, not at one day (toilet only cleaned cosmetically, dirty cups changed only at every second day, the bed was made as well superficial) . At the last day there wasn´t any kind of cleaning in my room. The most important faktor for me in a hotel is a clean room, especially the bathroom. […] So I am very sorry about it but I can´t offer an higher recommendation for this hotel. Das Zimmer an sich war klein, aber völlig OK. Leider hat der Zimmerservice das Zimmer an keinem Tag richtig gereinigt. Die tägliche Raumreinigung wurde generell nur oberflächlich durchgeführt. So wurde die Toilette nicht richtig gesäubert, das Bett nur oberflächlich gerade gezogen und die schmutzigen Teetassen nur alle zwei Tage gewechselt. Am letzten Tag vor der Abreise gab es dann gar keinen Zimmerservice mehr für mich. Für frische Handtücher musste ich dann an der Rezeption nachfragen. Diese wurden mir dann bis an die Zimmertür gebracht. Das Hotel hat sich dafür entschuldigt, aber die Tage davor war der Zimmerservice auch äußerst bescheiden. Das für mich wirklich wichtigste in einem Hotel sind saubere Zimmer. Daher kann ich leider keine bessere Bewertung abgeben. Lisätietoja

Horrible. We were booked for 4 nights. I was so dissatisfied that I booked another hotel for the next three nights and lost a night's cost. No elevator. No lobby to speak of. The distance to the high ceilings in the room was greater than the distance from wall to wall. Beds too soft. Bathroom without bath. Room dingy & cramped. Poor [female] hotel clerk […] had to lug our suitcases up 2 flights of stairs because she was the only one on duty. Too far to the main part of Edinburgh--it's a LONG LONG walk with little to see along the way. Few places to eat near the hotel. Booked Old Waverley Inn for the next 3 nights. Cost about the same; services, room & location MUCH MUCH better. VERY glad I changed. Lisätietoja

Room was nice and the people friend only problen was we were given twin not a double as requested but we were upgraded and made do fine with the twin

The first room we got which was the standard was extremely small, and there was some sort of fan that was working all night long so we actually had to ask for another room because we couldnt sleep with the noise. It was also very cold in the room. The new room we got was much better. But i dont understand how they can allow costumers to pay for the […] first one! Me and my wife stayed at the Piries Hotel in Edinburgh the few nights before our wedding in the south of Scotland. Firstly, we had to check in late so by the time we found somewhere to eat and got back we just wanted to sleep. The bed was missing a wheel, so it was a terrible first night, with the bed being on an odd angle. The next morning we went […] to have a shower and it was one of those wall mounted electric heaters and it lasted all of 3 seconds (exactly) before it turned off again, making it impossible to have a shower as the temperature changed from boiling hot to freezing cold in an instant. We talked with reception and they agreed to change our room the next day as all the hotel was booked up, but it was also booked up for the next day so they changed our room and gave it to some other poor person staying there. The new room had a functioning shower and bed but that's not to say it was much more comfortable, and the cleanliness wasn't great either, there were balls of dust everywhere. Having to change room was an major inconvenience with all our clothes and it meant we had to change our plans for the day to wait until they were ready to have our things moved. For the whole disaster of us staying there they did throw in the breakfast for the last couple of days. Also note that breakfast normally is a large supplement for what it is and that internet is not included and if you want them to activate wifi it's an exorbitant charge and you're much better off paying for a pint or a coffee somewhere nearby and using the wifi there. All in all the stay was not good. The staff were quite helpful but the hotel itself is terrible. Luckily the next place we stayed more than made up for it Lisätietoja

The staff was helpful. The location was alright for what we needed. The rooms were small and cramped. The bathroom had a bad smell and the shower didn't drain very well. We ended up standing in water during our shower. My room was on the 2nd floor and we had to carry the bags up six flights of stairs.

Beware, you'll be coerced into availing yourself of a few dried bits of bread and soggy corn flakes when you're told breakfast is included in your room rate and then be charged £6 at checkout for the privilege! Try and protest and you will be threateningly told by the reception staff to pay up or deal with the police! Not much idea of customer service! […] Add to that the paper thin walls and you can kiss goodbye to any sort of decent sleep due to the excessive noise from the rest of the hotel. Affordable and comfortable, and easy location for visiting the old parts of the City.

The Piries hotel's accomadations were very disapointing. The room was the same size as the bed a double, no towels, electrical outlets didnt work, cold showers, room was freezing, we asked for blankets but didnt get any! Very highly disapointed!

more like a hostel than a hotel, certainly not the standards we are used to! Asked for pillows on first day, never did receive them! Generally dirty throughout builders materials stacked inside entrance in short, a horrible place to stay, if you have already booked, change your booking NOW!!

El hotel esta en la linea de casi todos los hoteles británicos en zonas turísticas(no hacen honor a sus estrellas anunciadas), pero debo de reconocer que esta muy bien situado, tenéis la parada de bus y tren, justo al lado para ir a cualquier sitio.La zona es muy tranquila, y de nivel medio alto. Piries Hotel var ett modernt, litet hotell i ett lugnt område. Det var lite svårt att hitta dit från busstationen, men det något avskilda området gjorde mycket för sovkvaliteten. Servicen i receptionen var mycket bra. All personal var trevlig, hjälpsam och gav många bra tips på sevärdheter och nöjen. Rummet var fräscht och välstädat.

Die Lage ist in Ordnung Zugstation Haymarket 2 min entfernt (für Fahrten nach Glasgow oder einfach raus), ins Zentrum geht man rund 15-20 min. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber sehr sauber, Betten ok, Badezimmer schön, tolle Dusche. Um diesen Preis kann ich es empfehlen...

Idéal pour un petit week-end ou un match à Murrayfield

L'hôtel est bien situé. Nous aurions était très content de cet hôtel si nous n'avions pas eu la visite de cafards dans notre chambre. Toutes les nuits nous avons été réveillé par les bruits des fêtards dans le couloirs. Les murs des chambres sont très mal isolés. Pues estuvimos alojados 4 noches, todo perfecto, pero mejoraria el sistema de las tuberias del agua, pues cuando la habitación de alado abria el grifo del baño, retumbaba en mi habitación. Otra cosa a mejorar es el Wifi, lo pondría gratis, como un servicio mas del hotel. Por el resto, todo genial, habitación grande muy limpia, comoda y calentita ahora […] en invierno, muy buena situación, y muy buen trato del jovencisimo staff que tienen. Lisätietoja

El Hotel Piries es un hotel agradable para hacer noche. Está limpio y es acogedor. Es ideal para dormir y tiene una acceso relativamente fácil al centro de la cuidad. No es recomendable si se viaj con niños pequeños, no tienen microondas ni tampoco cocina.

Vi bodde tre netter på hotellet, veldig bra rom og service, kort vei til centrum, og bra buss forbindelse til flyplass.

Kjempebra service, komfortabel og helt greit standard. Veldig fornøyd. Gangavstand til sentrum. Veldig fornøyd, kan godt bo på samme hotel hvis jeg skule dra til Edinburgh igjen.

Als je op zoek bent naar een eenvoudig budgethotel, dan ben je bij het Piries Hotel aan het goede adres. Het hotel biedt precies genoeg voor een weekendje Edinburgh. Een nette en schone kamer, eenvoudige maar prima badkamer en vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. De verbindingen naar de binnenstad zijn meer dan perfect. Je zit vlak naast een treinstation […] en bussen stoppen praktisch voor de deur. Je kunt zelfs naar de binnenstad lopen. Maar je zit net ver genoeg uit de hustle and bustle van de drukke binnenstad. Als je van plan bent om dagen op je hotelkamer door te brengen, dan is het waarschijnlijk niet geschikt, omdat de kamers dan wel klein zijn. Wij waren in ieder geval erg tevreden en zijn zelfs van plan om nog eens terug te gaan om de stad ook in de zomer te bekijken. Lisätietoja

The hotel staff is very nice. The hotel does not have lift. U need to prepare to move your luggages upstairs.

In der unmittelbaren Nähe des Haymarkets kann man dieses Hotel für einen Kurzaufenthalt empfehlen. Die Ansprüche sollten aber nicht zu hoch sein. das Frühstücksbüffet ist so lala, Zimmer sind sauber, am 2 Tage wurde aber die Bettwäsche nicht gewechselt. Der service ist nett und kompetent. Für ein Hotel dieser Preisklasse vollkommen in Ordnung.

Proche de la station bus et taxi. A 30 minutes du centre ville à pied.

Einfaches, aber stilecht eingerichtetes kleines Hotel in guter Lage, nahe der Edinburgher Innenstadt, welche zu Fuß gut erreichbar ist. Wir hatten leider das kleinste Zimmer des Hotels, dieses würde ich nicht unbedingt mehr wieder buchen wollen; das Hotel an sich gerne wieder.

Nydeligt lille hotel. Ideel beliggenhed både i forhold til transport til/fra lufthavn og i forhold til centrum. Relativ høj pris set i forhold til et værelse i kælderen uden udsigt.

Nice rooms, helpful and frindly staff and 10 min. walk from the city.

Helt flott i forhold til pris. Beliggenheten også grei, bare 10 min å gå til sentrum.

Hotel vraiment super ! de la propreté de la chambre, au confort, en passant par le prix. Tout est irréprochable. Nous y sommes allé à trois et chacun de nous a été conquis. Seul petit hic dans cet hotel : la situation. Un tout petit peu excentré du centre ville (20 min de la gare centrale), cependant, une station de train et beaucoup de bus vous emmène […] au centre ville.
