Hotelli sijaitsee hyvässä paikkassa. Vaikka sijainti on keskustassa, ei meteliä kantautunut huoneeseen. Huone oli uudella puolella.

Kaikin puolin muuten hyvä mutta eniten öiseen aikaan kuului aika ajoin ihmeellinen, erittäin inhottava ääni(?), kuullosti poran ja kova äänisen vesipumpun ääniltä.Tämä oli erityisen toistuvaa ensimmäisenä yönä, vähän harvemmin toisena. Sen vuoksi mainitsen tästä kun joka kerta kun tämä kova ääninen meteli kuului, siihen heräsi. Kerran säikähdin kesken […] unien herättyäni tällaiseen niin pahasti että sain sydämen rytmihäiriöitä. We stayed for four nights. Every day the cleaning-lady (who spoke only broken French) had some little surprise in store for us. She might for instance put the beds together, although we (two gents) wanted to keep them apart. At the end she didn't turn up at all, so we had to go to the reception to get fresh towels.

Grand Hotel Opera oli kohtuuhintainen, ja erittäinen hyvällä sijainnilla. Huoneemme oli hotellin vanhassa osassa, ja se olisi kaivannut hieman kohennusta. Spa/ uima-allas/sauna-alue oli aivan mahtava, vaikka maksoikin ekstraa. Aamupala oli monipuolinen ja kattava. Voin lämpimästi suositella.

Olemme erittäin pettyneitä hotelliin. Ei minibaaria ei vedenkeitintä. Maksoimme kuitenkin superior huoneesta. Olemme olleet useamman kerran Göteborgissa ja meillä on ollut aina parempi huone vaikka olemme olleet stard huoneessa. Huoneemme oli pieni ja ikkuna suoraan vastapäiseen hotelliin, joten verhoa ei voinut pitää auki. Kysyin kahteen otteeseen […] huoneesta ja sanoivat, että meillä oli oikea huone. We were in a compact business room in new part. Exceeded our expectations for what we anticipated to be a "railway station" hotel!

The rooms are a little basic. The reception area and service is fine with good free wireless internet. It is good for business, or short term recreational stay being across the road from the bus and train station.

First time travellers in a super foreign country (for us) & we were welcomed by friendly staff with impeccable English that put us to shame for not knowing any Swedish. All queries were dealt with so well & clearly explained. Complimentary breakfast, mmmm. The hotel is directly opposite the main train station, great for those heavy suitcases & no taxi […] costs. Overall, the location is fab, but around one corner is MacDonalds and a few beggars, which was unpleasant for those not used to seeing such things, We soon learned to be hard hearted or avoid walking that way. Walking distance to plenty of eateries & sights. The bed was super comfy, the view was of the city bustling below & windows open for fresh air. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who asked. It's hard to get a bad hotel in Sweden. Wish the same were true of most other nations. The Grand Hotel Opera is especially cosy and welcoming. The usual high standard of breakfast, inclusive in the room price. Staff were warm and helpful, but then, so was everyone in Gothenburg. I understand it's difficult to get large beds into small redeveloped rooms, […] but the usual European standard for large beds - two narrow singles pushed together - ceases to be a novelty the first time they drift apart. Single rooms are very small but sufficient. Hotel is perfectly located in the city centre with excellent public transport connections

The hotel marketed premium business rooms (for additional cost, of course) that were small, the bed was not a queen and the Desk was very small. The room needed renovation and was not new as advertised. the breakfast was sub par. I will not use it again as I felt I over paid..

we stayed our first night and our last night.. Staff was amazing! they allowed us to check in early 11am, on our arrival. On our last night we did not arrive until after midnight, and they had upgraded our room at no cost, were able to serve us a cold cocktail, arrange a wake up call and an early breakfast at 5:30 am! rooms were very clean an comfortable. […] location to the train station was great. Other reviews have criticized the old building, but we didn't see any of it. Our room in the new building was excellent in every respect. The breakfast (included in the fee) was very good. The hotel is very conveniently located directly across from the central rail station and at the hub of the city's extensive tram and bus system.

The breakfast was exceptional, fresh food. Room was clean, staff was friendly and very helpful. Luggage storage for my later flight after check out. Showers were hot and bathroom was clean. Will only stay here when in Gothenburg. Location was perfect! close to everything. Very enjoyable experience during my stay.

You need drive to huge many-floor parking that not very close to Hotel, and we have problem to drive to parking.*we came at midnight), After this you need to go about 10 minuts from thr parking to Hotel. Along with all the other hotels with similar ratings, I think the prices are all a little on the high side. Yes everything is good, but it need not be this expensive!!

This hotel was very comfortable and we were nade to feel very welcome. The location near the railway station meant that it was ideal for both exploring central Goteborg or taking a tram out into the suburbs. Plenty of local places to eat out, and breakfast was good quality, though a little crowded. Wouls stay here again.

Hotel was really clean and room appeared to be recently renovated, since all of the funature and room ammenities looked new. Tasty European breakfast and free WiFi in room.

A very nice hotel... Great breakfast... Clean fresh rooms, a little tiny but its not in America so.. Parking costs about 160sek $20 for 24 hours at Nordstan. Always staying here when im in Gothenburg. The best location...

We stayed for two nights and the only reason why we didn't give them 100 % score in cleaning is because the cleaner left their spray bottle in our bathroom and there was a broom outside our door. The cleaning in itself was not bad. The breakfast was amazing, the room was nice and newly renovated and over all I think we got a good deal for our price. Stayed here on business and found it to be clean, quiet and a good location for the centre of Gothenburg. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Food was good overall too, but there are plenty of restaurants in the neighbourhood. Would recommend to others and would use it myself when I was paying too.

Mixed feelings after my stay. The mouldy lino bathroom was not acceptable for that price - worse than at a youth hostel. The breakfast was on the other hand superb.

The Grand Hotel Opera is a nice hotel at a super central location. The hotel staff is friendly at the reception. Had less good experiences with the staff in the breakfast room, but it was still okay. As part of a group with 6 rooms booked, we want to make sure that future hotel guest understand that there are 2 buildings in this Hotel. They show you only the new part. However the old part is not that great. Also, house cleaning is very spotty. One room we checked in was not even cleaned after the previous guests checked out. The other, the bedroom […] was clean, but the bathroom was left dirty. I guess they were under time pressure and wanted to check us in. Once we notified the front desk about the issues they took care of the problems right away. They sent a fruit basket to the room for the trouble. At the bar we asked for a barmenu, the bartender said they had one somewhere, but he could not find it. The location of this Hotel is great, right across the trainstation with busses going to the airport. Public transportation is great too, one can go anywhere within Sweden and beyond. There is a mall and shopping street right around the corner. Breakfast is great and will fill you for the better part of the day. I chose this hotel for its location in Gothenburg and ease of getting there, and it was great for both. It's a few minutes from the train and bus stations and right on the edge of the city centre so everything is convenient. I also chose a budget room in the old part of the hotel so I knew what I was getting and it was fine. The staff were generally […] helpful, the room big enough for one, the buffet breakfast more than adequate and the wifi worked up to a point. For the first two days it worked in my room but then it stopped and nobody seemed too concerned at fixing it. Fortunately it still worked in the lobby so I wasn't stuck, but I can't believe the fix was difficult. However, if I ever go back to Gothenburg I'll certainly consider the Grand Hotel Opera. The hotel is across the road from central station. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to make sure that my stay was comfortable. The breakfast was good. it is also next to one of the big shopping centers in goteborg.

Do not be fooled by the pictures. When you make a reservation and the description include the words “old part” mixed in it, what they do not tell you is that the “old part” wing of the hotel is a 1 start-like hotel. You take a cargo elevator to go through a corredor that smell humedity into a room that also smell humedity. Our booking of two rooms was double booked and therefore we were upgraded to a very comfortable, spacious suite. The breakfast room was a little on the small side, but breakfast itself was good.

This hotel is right in the middle of everything, even attached to the largest mall in the area. The room was great. Not as deluxe as Radison Blu but then the price is much less. Goteburg parking is much less than in Stockholm or Oslo. (Do go to the fishmarket - freshest fish anywhere and not even the fishy smell! It is just a few blocks away.) Excellent location close to shopping and railway station for a reasonable rate (cf. to other downtown Swedish hotels). My room was small and the very little view, but it was modern and clean.
