"What a mess"
Rooms were filthy! Stained carpet and bedding, towel rack in both bathrooms broken off the wall. We complained to front desk and their resolution was to throw a garbage bag of towels and sheets on the dirty floor Talked to other guests that were experiencing the same thing. "Stinky room"
When we arrived at the hotel, one of the elevators was out of order. Our room smelled of cigarettes and body odor. I immediately washed all the linens and cleaned the countertops, we also did not use any pot/pans nor plates due to this same reason. "Wing View"
This is our second time staying with this condo. The condo is built like a half octogon shape. The first time we stayed with them we had a center room view which was BEAUTIFUL from our balcony, it over looked the pool (which is awesome) and the ocean to. This time we had a wing room on the side of the condo and not center. we couldn't see the pool and […] ocean together (dissappointment). From the front of our balcony we could see the ocean then we had to walk around the corner of our balcony to get a view of the pool which didn't appear as pretty as I remember from the frist stay. Our room was not as clean as it should have been and on top of that we had to pay a 135.00 dollar cleaning fee on arrival. It was fine in the areas you could see openly but we had to move the coffee table and couch to get some toys that went up under the couch and WOW, what a mess it was Filthy, under the beds to. THIS HOTEL WAS AMAZING! THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND POLITE. THE ENTRANCE FROM THE BEACH IS GUARDED ALL NIGHT SO NO ONE WHO ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE CAN GET IN. MY ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN AND DECORATED VERY WELL AND UP TO DATE. STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES, BEAUTIFUL BALCONY WITH AN AMAZING VIEW!! THE POOL IS HUGE AND REALLY CLEAN. "Room was perfect for family"
The room was awesome. It's not the most central but overall comfort and convenience was my best stay. I will say that we went to beach more than pool because pool was water way too cold, which was disappointing because it was one of the best pools I've seen. We will stay here again because of the value and bedrooms, washer/dryer, kitchen etc.

I had my wife, daughter and grand kids. We enjoyed the stay very much. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hidden cleaning fee, popped up when we arrived $143.00. When i went to this hotel for spring break with my college buddies and i, i was looking for something that was decent and good price.....well i got what i payed for. The hotel wasnt the greatest thing is the world but it worked for me and my friends. The elevators worked half of the time and in one of them the certification papers that must be shown […] were expired which made the elevator dangerous. half of the things in the room were broken but my friends and I made it work. other then that it was fine, beach location was perfect and the pool area was awesome. We've stayed at this hotel three times and the reason for which we have continued to stay here was the pool secrutiy, the family events (movie by the pool, Easter sunrise service, and other family entertainment). However, some obvious cut backs have taken place at this hotel. Kids ran wild around the pool with no supervision or pool security. There […] were absolutely NO family activities offered and the understaffing was noticable and very unorganized whereas in years past it was a very calm, relaxing, and family friendly place where you could locate friendly staff without effort. "Slow Elevators"
The hotel was okay but be aware that the elevators are very slow. We got there and the refrigerator had a bunch of stuff from the previous guests - we contacted the hotel several times but they did not send anyone up to take care of it. They did charge a cleaning fee for the room.

I've stayed here many times already. I only had one issue but it was due to spring break. The room I was given was damaged by the previous spring breaker and I was charged for the damages. After a meeting with customer service I was refunded in full.

"Excessive cleaning charges"
We arrived and waited 45 minutes at 9:00 PM to check in. The desk cleck informed us of a room cleaning fee that was 100% of the original room rate. We had no choice then to pay the excessive cleaning fee dispite only being there 11 hours. Checkout is 10:00 AM!
"Shores Disappointment"
There are not enough characters allowed to express our full dissatisfaction with this hotel. The positive is that the view was beautiful, the front desk staff were polite and courteous and the maintenance man was a real gentleman. How do we know this, because upon arrival our room was filthy, had closet doors that had been torn off, and a towel rack […] on the floor. My husband waiting at the desk for 40 minute for the manager who never arrived because he was busy handling "another complaint." The manager NEVER contacted us later either. The front desk personnel were apologetic, but what can they do? The maintenance man fixed the doors to the best of his ability. The air-conditioning went out for a day and a half in 82 degree weather (fun)! We had to go to WalMart and purchase cleaning supplies, bucket, broom and dust pan because the room was so dirty sock and feet were turning black. The dishwasher was not attached so when you put dishes in you had to be careful and it fell forward. A few days after arrival a realtor came to the door to take pictures because the condo we had rented was on a "short sale". We explained our disappointment to her and she said she owned a condo there and did not want that reputation so would have the manager talk with us. She took our name and said she was going straight down stairs to speak to the manager. Whether that conversation occurred or not, we will never know, but yes..you guess it...no manager ever spoke to us. We were aware of additional fees for cleaning and insurance because we had read other reviews and called and asked. Some people upon arrival were not and we overheard some of their frustration. Upon check out we explained everything AGAIN to the front desk clerk. She was very apologetic and gave us back 107.00 some of the cleaning fee. She assured us that the "new manager" would arrive at 10 a.m., verified out cell phone number and said we would receive a call from the manager very soon. The hotel was amazing, I really enjoyed my stay BUT the customer service SUCKED!!! The front desk people are the worst, their attitudes are horrible and just being around them made my mood change drastically. In such a nice hotel they should hire people that want to work and that are friendly
My hotel stay was good. But the cleaning fee was $143.00 which took me by surprise. On hotel.com didn't tell me about the cleaning fee. Also make sure you check your let out bed. "Horrible"
I don't know where to start. The 1-page information sheet they gave us at check in said beach chairs are free to guests outside of their peak dates of April - November. We were there in mid-March and they charged $30 to rent the chairs. The guy on the beach said he'd never seen the flyer (yes, I was carrying it in my shorts and showed him). He also […] stated he had never heard of that policy. He wasn't aware of anytime where they didn't charge a fee for the chairs. The front desk lady just shrugged it off. The television in our room was a 15"--I'm not exaggerating. And the television remote was missing a battery with masking tape as a remote control battery lid. The bathtub was filthy. The towels were course. They had no valet parking. They had no bell hop to help us with the luggage from our 14th floor room to the car... and in fact had to put a deposit at the front desk simply to use the luggage cart so we could do it ourselves. The hot tub was broken and they said it would be fixed "within a couple of days"... we were only there for 1 night... which leads me to their "cleaning fees and insurance..." but I won't get started on that. I obviously missed that "footnote" way at the bottom of the listing--make sure you are aware of these added charges. If you stay a week or more, this is probably justifiable... in our case staying one night, they more than doubled the rate of the room. Again, this was in the fine print details way at the bottom of the page that we simply missed. This place has poor management and poor facilities... and because they are so touristy, they had no desire to fix anything... they simply shrugged it off as "your problem." Very nice hotel, BUT WATCH OUT...all the savings I had received from hotel.com didn't matter when I arrived ans had a "maintenance" fee equal to what I paid for the one night.. the pool was closed due to unsanitary reasons, and no curtains in living room sleeping area.. very disappointed .. it's a really nice hotel in great location, just watch out […] for hidden costs.. "BAD TRIP"
The OASEAS on the Shores of Panama was a nightmare. Upon booking and being told about reading about 141.00 cleaning fee for any room, no matter what and being told that WOULD NOT apply, I was very disappointed to see at check in in did indeed. That was the First Strike. Second, after getting a lukewarm welcome by the Consierge, who said, "are you sure […] YOU are staying here?" I showed her my confirmation paperwork and she said , "ok,yeah you are." She didn't say just go to the attendant at the desk or do you need help with bags, have a nice night. Nothing. Weird. Third after a less than friendly greeting when I did enter, got all the fees explained and I told him under no uncertain term, look I border on OCD, I travel with my own Lysol and Wipes, so the room better be immaculate, he was emphatic it would be. Well, the only thing I could thing after enduring the check in and entering the room was am I being tricked here? The room had a repugnent smell of smoke, looked like a flop house,the carpet and drapes were badly soiled and stained. There was no comforter on the bunk beds, I could go on but I won't. I called down to reception and after a DEEP SUCK OF AIR and eyeroll , I could visualize from the other line, the hotel attendant said may I help you? I explained my disatisfaction, he actually sounded shocked came up 20 minutes later with 8 more possiblilites, to SATISFY US, mind you we just paid 141.00 on top of booking to stay here for an Immaculate professionally cleaned room. Not even close. The second room was in another class, which made me feel even more insulted that he would have tried to pass off the first room as a representation of the hotel. Other than mold in second room shower curtain and stain on Master Bedroom floor, looked like red nail polish we settled in. We enjoyed our stay but nobody told us about the $100 damage fee plus the $40 cleaning fee. We were not happy with that and it is crazy to spend that kind of money on top of the nightly rate just for one night!!!

It was an awesome place, friendly staff, great price and the view was amazing. Only bad thing was it was a long walk from parking to our room but WELL worth it.

"Great condo"
Great unit granite counter tops full kitchen. Balcony faced the gulf. Step outside the pool gate and you are one the beach. There is a resort fee and a cleaning charge. Plenty of covered parking and close to everything. Will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is very nice and the location is great. BUT...be careful - there are hidden costs not plainly quoted by hotels.com. For example, in addition to the quoted per night price, upon check-in the hotel will charge you a "cleaning fee" and "limited damage waiver fee". Three figure additional cost. Beware!

I booked the hotel using my smartphone which doesn't have a very big screen. We were also up against the wall on time and found ourselves in a position where we had to make a decision. No matter what they say about 3G, it really isn't very fast. We stayed ONE NIGHT. So imagine my anger when I'm told there is a $103 "cleaning fee". This fee is charged […] whether you stay one night or several. By that time it was 9PM and we had traveled several hundred miles. I think this is outrageous. This needs to be flagged right at the start of the listing so a person can take the time to check it out. "my experience at Panama Shores"
Hotel and our room was beautiful. Loved the view from our balcony and the fully stocked kitchen. Close to everything...restaurants, activities, beach, stores, shopping, Walmart, etc. Fitness Center, pools, gift shop were great. Only complaints were that our door key kept not working. Had to get fixed 4x. Hate the cleaning fee since they basically make […] you clean it before you leave, and our bed mattress wasn't the best. Guess I'm used to my foam mattress @ home.
