We stayed in the cheapest room. The room was really tiny, and it had a window to a corridor, no view to outside. Room would be have been ok for cheaper price. The distance to center was ok, about 15min walking. Stay here only if you get really good offer.

The hotel is ok, but didn't make a big impression for me. The room was probably the smallest I've ever seen - luckily I was alone in a twin room! Window to the corridor -> would have been better if there was no window at all. Information about the hotel was not enough, and I even didn't have a phone so I needed to go to the reception for each matter. […] They were prompt to help, though, but they only answered my questions and didn't share any other information on their own initiative. Yövyin kaksi yötä. Hotelli sijaitsi mukavasti rannassa vilkkaassa tieristeyksessä. Huoneen seinien eristys erittäin heikko, naapurihuoneesta kuuluivat kuorsaukset. Lisäksi näköalana oli naapuritalon pääty. Kylpyhuone oli ahdas eikä siinä ollut käsisuihkua. Aamiainen ihan hyvä ja aamiaishuone tilava. Clean hotel where everything works. Excellent value for money even though the location isn't perfect (but not too bad either).

Great for the price! Only problem was the fact that the room wasn´t as clean as I was hoping for. The sheets in the other bed had some dirt that probably didn´t get of in the washing machine. And there were holes in the sheets of the other bed... They probably never buy new ones! Service was nice and polite. I left the hotel at 5 in the morning and […] they served me breakfast at 4am! It was really nice to have something to eat before a long flight. Lovely service, location and price. The only negative is the fact Wi-Fi isn't free.

For the price it is excellent value. The rooms are small but clean and tidy. The only down side is that it is a 20 min walk into the centre of town, but it can be a nice walk along the sea front.

Stayed at the hotel cabin for four nights in January cant fault it . Close to the city centre , clean cumfortable room friendly staff . Good breakfast all be it a continental one .They do a very good buffet lunch/dinner from 11 am til 9 pm . Must be the best value meal in Iceland . Salad buffet , pasta , soup , fruit , soft drinks and coffee or tea […] all for about £ 8/9 . Only down side its the same every night only the pasta changes . Another advantage was the tour buses often pick up 1st and return 1st to the cabin . Which means you can choose the best seats and be 1st back to your hotel . Lisätietoja

Be sure to book a superior room as it is well worth the extra money. The standard rooms are tiny and a little worn. The salad bar is a great price for meal and don't be afraid that the hotel is slightly out of downtown. Plenty of good bus service available and the largest pool in Reykjavik is just up the street. Warm and welcoming. Rooms were small and comfortable, always lots of hot water with good shower. Basic but good buffet breakfast which included ham, cheese, salad, oranges and different kinds of breads and crackers, cereal, yogurts, jam etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. Iris was especially helpful when we were trying to decide on which excursions […] to take. Would definately stay there again. It was a bit out of town (probably 20-30 minute walk), but it is on 3 bus routes so a bus would probably pass every 15 to 20 minutes. Walking would not normally be a problem but the paths were very icy and it was extremely windy, so the bus was the safer option. There was also a buffet on offer for the evening meal for a charge, although it was salad, soup and one hot food option. I enjoyed my stay and the location of this hotel. The free breakfast buffet was great. the ocean was only a block away and you can see it from the hotel. I had the standard room which is very compact and so is the bathroom. Room was only a desk, very small tv with few channels and 2 twin beds. Bathroom is standing shower that is also small in size so […] a large sized person may not want this room at all. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was only cleaned once in 3 days. 25 minute walk to centre. Breakfast was good, but no hot food. Good vlaue for money overall.

Great hotel if you're happy to go basic. The breakfast's boring, but fills you up before a big day. The rooms are small, but they're fine if all you're going to do is sleep in them. There's a mini supermarket nearby and a petrol station, which is very handy. I like this hotel because I use a rental car and the location is convenient and they provide free parking, The rooms and bathrooms are very small, but adequate, and the hotel is clean. The breakfast, which is available at 4 a.m. or sooner, is very good and plentiful.

The personnel at the Hotel Cabin were very helpful. They always went out of their way to help when I had a question, even suggesting a good place to have dinner within walking distance. I would stay there again next time I visit Reykjavik and would recommend this hotel to friends who visit as well.

Location is vey poor. Over 45 minutes by foot from city center. Also, there were no restaurnts within walking distance of the hotel. Reykjavik is an expensive town, and Hotel Cabin is surprisingly reasonable given this. The hotel is in good shape, but like many hotels in Reykjavik, boasts extremely small "efficiency" rooms. Cons: 1) Very small rooms 2) Strange layout - some rooms' windows face out into the hall 3) Fiddly room locks/keys Pros: 1) Reasonably priced, fast internet 2) […] Good selection at breakfast including cold proteins - cheeses, meats, eggs 3) Quiet 4) Various convenience stores nearby, and Subway, cafe, and convenience store across the street at the petrol station. Everything was clean and well run. Breakfast was great. Only drawbacks the cheaper rooms are very small and the hotel is a 30 minute walk to the city. Did have a convenient bus stop though.

What a great budget hotel. I think for the price I got more than expected. Despite a small room it was clean and more that sufficient. I thought the breakfast was great and fantastic value considering it was included in the price. Our double twin room for 3 had 3 beds in it and we fit in it quite well. This is a large hotel in a business area next to a nice resedential area and close to the shore. The breakfast was good. There was parking which did not fill completely. If I was in Reykjavik again, I would probably stay there.

We loved the breakfast buffet that is included in the stay. A large selection of food. The standard room is quite small with two separate single beds. The delux room is great. Close to gas station and a convenient store. Desk staff are very patient and helpful. Internet arrangement is a little inconvenient.

I booked this hotel because it had been recommended by other visitors in a previous trip but I was very dissapointed.

Hotel Cabin is a simple hotel. Upon request, I was given an ocean view room. The room and bathroom were clean. The beds were comfortable. Buffet breakfast was served on the seventh floor with a nice view of the city. The food was standard. It consisted of cold cuts, breads, condiments, and summer fruits. The hotel has free parking.

30 mins walk to the centre, along the main shopping street. Or you can walk along the sea wall to visit the harbour and conference centre. Some rooms overlook the sea but others overlook the car park. A bit light of staff - the 2 staff had to perform the role of receptionist, bar manager and restaurant manager.

cheapest hotel with private toilets yet close to the city center, but in Iceland it's still very expansive... Had a 16 hour lay over in Iceland just needed a place to stay. It was basic very small but clean and served its purpose. May have stayed closer to airport next time Transport cost back and forth was almost as much as hotel room. Breakfast was more then adequate and the walk into town center was about 15 minutes.

We had a problem with smoke and noise coming in the open window at night, but the staff moved us to a higher floor away from the outside smokeing area. We returned later in our trip and stayed again before flying home, but reserved a larger room for a higher price that we liked better.
