The hotel appears as if it was recently renovated. Modern, clean rooms and facilities. Nice extras like free coffee, cappucino, espresso 24 hrs/day, adequate free breakfast, small pleasant lounge, free computer, pleasant staff. Near everything. Parking limited - request when you book. .

I reserved a suite for a buisness trip. Very nice to have a bit more space and breakfast and internet included. The room is very dark in the evening when the sun is no longer shining in the window. The jacuzzi was my favorite part, but I also liked having a separate shower for the rushed mornings. The decor seemed very dated (reminded me of a 70s theme), […] but everything was clean and well maintained. The coffee/hot chocolate maker is the bomb and a wonderful perk of staying here. Great Hotel with reserved parking for small to mid sized vehicules. Breakfast was awesome and all day expresso machine was great!! Would stay again for sure.

This was a nice place to stay for our recent trip to Old Quebec. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is more than adequate, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Easy walk to all the sites. Highly recommend Hotel Champlain!

Decent hotel near Saint-Jean street and all the major must-see sights. Room needs to be maintained a bit more, though. (some mold on the bathroom walls for example.) Excellent free breakfast and courteous staff.

Hôtel is perfectly located and everybody is very nice there ! I had a great time! The only thing is that the door are paper thick and we can ear quite a lot what happen in the corridor.

We enjoyed this hotel especially since the weather was cold and rainy and the hot chocolate and espressos in the lobby warmed us right up.

Wonderful service, wonderful people... The self serve coffee machine was like having your own Starbucks in the lobby...for free! Breakfast was delicious and the movie rentals were charming for the night in after a busy day of sightseeing. We will be back in the summer and this is where we will stay!! Thank you!!! :)

So pleasantly surprise for the money....Can't say enough about this quaint hotel in the heart of Quebec City. The rooms, the staff, the location. I would drive back just for their simple but delicious FREE breakfast. Please do not overlook this hotel.

There was no parking available at the hotel, which we did not find out until we checked in, we had to find public parking which cost extra. Other then that the hotel was great, good location.

I would suggest the following improvements: 1) lighting, especially in bathroom - not useful enough, especially for makeup. Surprised since the design is so unique and modern. 2). Ventilation needs improvement -muggy from showering, even after returning to room within an hour Otherwise, wonderful staff, great and varied breakfast, fun design. I should recommend this hotel to every travellers from all over the world! Why? The location was perfect for all of old Quebec City. The room very large and well appointed, beds hard but that's a personal taste. Good breakfast, wonderful 24 hr. coffee machine. I would stay there again if I returned to Quebec.

This hotel is in the heart of the old Quebec. It is very cozy. It has a coffee machine which offers coffees for free. Perfect for winter times.

Excellent Hotel. It is walking distance from everything. It includes parking which is convenient when you are renting a car.

This hotel was an excellent choice. I stayed for only two wonderful nights and afterwards I went to the Chateau. I have to say that I enjoyed the stay there as much as the Frontenac. The breakfast was good but even better was the hot chocolate at any time of the day. The young people at the front desk were amazingly helpful and nice, and the proximity […] to all the major attractions including the bus to go out of town was very convenient. The location and breakfast was great. The room was not as clean as I would like. The bathroom door and baseboards needs a good scrubbing.

The place is clean but heating/cooling load in the rooms. Rooms (Standard) are based on 80 style and age.

Nice room, attentive staff, great location and parking availability. Some noisy guests for a couple of days but this is not the fault of the hotel. Breakfast could be upgraded without adding expense. Overall positive; would stay there again.

A wonderful little hotel centrally located within the walls of Old Quebec. Our room was comfortable, extrememly quiet, clean and was the perfect location to enjoy Quebec without the hustle and bustle of the larger hotels. Staff is very friendly and helpful. This hotel worked perfectly for us, and we'd happily stay there again.

Room was large and spacious as was bathroom. Assigned Parking spot made it very easy for in out access. It is in the perfect location no need to drive. Front desk was very helpful for restauaunt help and directions. Would stay there again.

It was a great experience at the hotel. The staff were knowledgeable and were quick to provide suggestions for sights around the city as well as places to eat. The complimentary buffet breakfast was very good too. Not fancy, but just the right thing to get your morning going. Great place.

What I loved most was the free espresso/cappuccino maker open 24/7. Very nice stay at this hotel. Convenient location. Parking was iffy, the only downside.

My husband and I are in our early fifties and travelled with our 21 year old daughter. We arrived just prior to New Year's Eve and were thrilled to find that they had listened to my request (from when I booked back in Oz) for a view of the Chateau Frontenac. The gas heater/fireplace in the room was way too close to the first bed to risk using in my […] opinion although there was a glass door over it, but the room was so warm anyway, we didn't bother with it. The room was pleasant and bathroom fine. The only thing I found annoying was that it wasn't possible to make a tea or coffee in the room. We had to go down to the ground floor in the very slow lift and use the hot drink machine down there, then carry the cups back up to our room. The breakfast was comprehensive and a pleasant dining area and was well used by guests and included hot food. We booked a car space for our hire car and were glad we did as the streets are narrow and not suitable for this. It was mostly undercover next to the hotel on the ground floor and the space was tight but adequate. Very convenient location, walked to everything in the old town and bars and restaurants nearby. Would consider staying here again. Really enjoyed our two nights in beautiful old Quebec city. Next time we'll come in Summer or Spring, but I suspect is beautiful any time of year. Lisätietoja

I was spending two days in Old Quebec city and had no much time to stay. Deciding to stay in Hotel Champlain for one night, I was impressed and happy with the all amenities. Parking lot was a bit small, but this is understandable for old city. I will try to stay again in that hotel if I have chance to get to Old Quebec city.

This is a more-than-a-decent hotel and overall an excellent value. Situated in Old Quebec, next to everything you might need, it still gives you some peace in a quiet street. The front desk even had a phone charger for my friend's phone! (He forgot his at home.) Hotel features unusually kind and knowledgeable personnel, tasty and hearty breakfast, […] free espresso & cappuccino at all times that you could enjoy in a cozy lobby by the fireplace (OK, it's gas-fireplace, but nicely done). Also quite fast free Internet access, for those who care... Excellent hotel stay. The room was cozy. Continental breakfast was excellent and a wonderful addition to the hospitality normally received at a hotel. All staff were top notch, polite and helpful. Will recommend anytime.

Location: This hotel was perfectly located in the heart of old Quebec, which was great for walking around. Parking: parking is extremely limited at the hotel itself, but there is street parking and if you're willing to walk five minutes you can get public underground parking. Staff/ design: the staff was friendly although we didn't really have too […] much reason to interact with them on a regular basis. The decor was tastefully done and not too extravagant or tacky, like many hotels are. Breakfast: it is included with the cost of your room but it is very basic! I'm taking bagels, bread, coffee and tea. Although one of the days they did have oatmeal, and scrambled eggs. The other problem is the lack of space in the dinning room, if you're not down there early enough when the hotel is packed you may have to take the food up to your room. If you are going in the winter bring a sweater down with you. Down side: the only major downside was that the room was advertised as 'Mountain View' in the junior suite which we paid for, but being on the third floor (of five) we could really only see the buildings across the street. However, one of the days was -25 celsius which allowed us to see further; we saw the mountains from the corner of the window. I wouldn't have cared about this as much if they had not advertised it as mountain view! The only other downside was that the heating/ cooling fan was loud when on. Lisätietoja

We stayed at the hotel for two nights right after Christmas. The hotel is close to everything if your intention is to spend your time in the Old City. The overall stay was good: the room was clean and cozy and the climate control in the room was an additional benefit; the breakfast was good and filling; the parking was available for a surcharge. Also, […] the management of the hotel was very helpful. In the morning when we're ready to leave Quebec for good, we couldn't start the car because the battery was dead due to the high humidity. This was my second visit to Quebec and to Hotel Champlain. I love staying at the hotel and will more than likely stay there again if I need to visit the Old City in the future. The staff are very friendly and accomodating and helped us with our broken French. I love the amenities such as the 24 hour coffee/hot cocoa bar and even the breakfast in the […] morning (although we did not use that service regularly). Plus with the location of HC being almost in the center of the city it is very easy to walk around and visit all of the surrounding sites without much trouble. The rooms are not as large, as with some other hotels, but do accomodate 2 people quite nicely. Its a very welcoming place and I would recommend staying there. The only downside is that the bathrooms are small for 2 people. Also parking is at a premium as they only have 15 outdoor spots for 52 (?) rooms. It is still cheaper to pay for the parking at the hotel (if you can get a spot) than to park in any of the overnight parking garages ($15.00 as opposed to $17.50 in the garages). Hotel Champlain is a great location in Old Quebec. A no frills hotel but has everything you need for a stay in quebec. Friendly hotel staff too.
