Other than that, the room was very nice and the quiet in the night. The best part was the room rate, that was less than half of what I paid at Hilton a couple of days earlier on the same Poydras street.

My husband and I stayed at Tom and Patricia's gorgeous Maison Perrier last week for a "mini-moon" after our wedding in Virginia. Our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming, and the inn itself was superb - beautifully kept and decorated, spacious, quiet, unique, and in a lovely neighborhood just up from the Garden District (and about 1/2 a block from […] my former apartment). Tom and Patricia are warm, helpful, and yet unobtrusive, and they have terrific amenities on site including a thoughtful book of dining destinations segmented by neighborhood. My wife stayed at the Maison Perrier for our wedding anniversary. We had a wonderful time. Tom and Patricia (the owners) were gracious hosts. Stayed for 3 nights in New Orleans on a short getaway. We could have not been more impressed by this B&B. Tom, the owner, took much personal time to set us down in the living room and explain just about everything we would need to know about the city and what was fun and interesting to do. He answered every question we had then showed us to our lovely […] room. It was very nice. The staff there was so kind and the breakfast cook has some real down home food talent. We WILL BE BACK!!! A stay at this place will be nice for anyone looking to experience the lovely neighborhoods of the Garden District while still just being a street car ride away from the craziness of the French Quarter. Brilliant place to stay and really made to feel at home will be sure to stay again if we're back in New Orleans. Being Uptown means you're out of the hussel and bussel of the touristy French quater but with the St Charles streetcar and buses on Magazine st getting in and out isn't a worry. Very handy for Mardi Gras Parades! We were in the Desiree Room […] which was great but a little noisy in the morning as is right by the kitchen for breakfast. Other than a tricky front-door lock, this was the most pleasant B&B stay I have ever had! The atmosphere is not too boxed-in, so its never uncomfortable or confining. Although removed from the hot spots of the French Quarter, it is a couple of blocks from the St. Charles street car line which runs to the town center or out through the Garden District. Everything was exactly as we expected. The owners were extremely helpful. The unit is pretty much centrally located. The trolley is four blocks away, and down town district is a ten minute taxi ride.
