AC Hotel Algeciras by Marriott - Algeciras

Aamiainen oli kohtuullisen hyvä, mutta vähän ikävänä yllätyksenä hinnassa ei oltu ilmoitettu ALVia suoraan. Enpä sitten huomannut tätä asiaa, joten aamiasmaksut tulivat hiukan kalliimiksi. Ilmastointi yms. toimi hyvin.

The hotel is highly recommendable. Elegantly styled, quiet rooms. Good quality of dinner and breakfast. Friendly personnel. Convenient parking in hotel garage just around the corner.

Surprisingly nice hotel, easy to access and good, friendly service. Main disadvantages are parking garage located in separate building and beds that do not have a pillowtop, but overall very comfortable.

The hotel room was beautiful with a view of the harbor. The staff spoke English well and were helpful. We had to use taxis because there was no public transportation nearby, but if you have a car the hotel's location is great. lt was near a department store/fabulous supermarket. Enjoyed our stay. Great value.

I can't say whether or not I would recommend this hotel, as I arrived to find that I had no booking - apparently someone was ill, and had to stay an extra day. What was upsetting to me was that I was not dealt with directly on this issue - the hotel attendant took my brother in law aside and showed him a room that could accommodate an extra person - […] and then it was explained to me by my brother in law that I was given a choice to stay in the room with my sister and brother in law,or go to another riad (and I don't know where that was or what quality it was). I have a different last name than my sister and brother in law and booked from a separate city - why the hotel attendant assumed that staying together was an option is beyond me. I felt insulted as a single female, but accommodated the situation by sharing a room. I would not recommend the riad for this reason, but otherwise the staff was helful and nice. Other points to note about the riad is that it is in a good location, but the towels are limited and too worn and we had to use our own toilet paper at the end. Not enough supplies. Lisätietoja

This is a very nice hotel, with clean, spacious rooms. However, it is located in a downtrodden area of town, quite a distance from the bus station, and very difficult to reach using public transportation.

I had a good experience at the AC Hotel. The facilities were excellent and the hotel staff were very helpful. We decided to stay in Algeciras because it was close to Tarifa and Gibralter, so we could easily visit both. The town was nice and we enjoyed ourselves very much there.

Room comfort was excellent. Hotel location poor. Food in restaurant was lousy. The helpful staff will direct clients to a nearby satisfactory restaurant . If you have to be in Algeceri the AC. Is fine

A clean, new, and contemporary hotel. Great staff, great location close to train station, supermarket, and department store.

We came in late on the train from Madrid, and after a very long day, this hotel was perfect. Very clean. Wonderful beds. Helpful and accommodating staff. It was a short stay before catching the ferry to Tanger, which is also quite nearby, but it was very pleasant.

Perfectly good as a 'one nighter' before getting your plane or ferry. Restaurant was more of a cafeteria standard with very average food and service but this was reflected in the meal cost. Clearly mainly used by business customers but it was exactly as we had been led to believe and was as marketed. Fair value, pleasant staff and clean room.

Nice, clean, modern, no complains... There is really nice restaurant within walking distance, the food was amazing, just ask front desk for directions.

The room size is average for a European Hotel but very clean and reasonably comfortable. The gym and restaurant facilities are very limited. The location was not the best for me. Normally I choose all the hotels, but my husband is a Marriott fan, so he choose this one. It was one of our "betters" in our Spain travels. The staff was VERY helpful, understood our English, and helped with directions. The room was really great, clean, quiet, an awesome modern bathroom. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The view, spectacular, […] at the water. And while there is nothing to actually "do" in Algeciras, it's a great distance to both The Rock of Gibraltar and Morocco towns. Though the hotel always recommended taxi's, we walked everywhere from the ship docks, to the train stations, it was all reasonable in locations. One word of caution, the Police are really on the ball, maybe a little too. We parked our rental car in a 30 min. parking spot across from the front doors of the hotel,while we checked in and brought our luggage up. Literally, 11 minutes later when we went to collect (and return) our car it was being loaded onto a towing ramp. The cop called off the tow man, but in the allotted 30 minutes our car would have been long gone, and we wouldn't have known what became of it.. Lisätietoja

We stayed in Algeciras because we were Kite Surfing in Tarifa & we wanted a nice hotel with a gym & air conditioning to come back to at the end of the day (plus there wasn't any great hotels that we could find in Tarifa) The hotel itself is really swanky, lovely rooms with a smart bathroom & a small but do-able gym (2 bikes & a running machine plus […] free weights) we paid the extra for breakfast (which we enjoyed everyday) & we got parking for free (we thought we would have to pay for that, so thar was a bonus!) Another good thing was fast wifi in the lounge (I skyped my brother back home with no problems) Algeciras itself is a dump, no good restaurants or cafes. The shops are not very nice & no-one can speak any english (apart from the hotel staff) In my opinion, this hotel would only be useful for staying a few nights before travelling to Morocco. We won't be coming back to Algeciras as we found the kite surfing beach in Tarifa is way to overcrowded & the nearest place to get good Tapas was Seville!! Fortunately there were plenty of signs from the main roads to this hotel otherwise it would not be easy to find. The AC Algeciras is next door to the NH Algeciras which we went into by mistake to begin with. We were so pleased we were not staying at the NH as it looked awful from our brief visit. We were just staying the one night on our travels through […] that part of Spain. The AC Algeciras had large rooms, good air conditioning,helpful staff and a good range of food for breakfast. The Hotel Algeciras is beautiful and clean, a nice touch is the free mini bar in the room, soft drinks and water. The surrounding area lets it down, not really any alternative eating places nearby. Very good for an overnight stay.

We used this hotel as a stopover to Portugal from Spain. Had plannned to stay inTarifa but rooms were booked up. This was a very pleasant place to stay and parking was included. First class hotel.

A few blocks off the beaten track but just across the street from the water. Not too far from the busy part of town for those that are walkers. PC's with internet access right in the lobby. In-room refrigerators stocked with complimentary beverages which was a very nice touch.

This hotel is first class, and we had a bargain rate. The check-in person was efficient and helped immensely after our tiring 2-hour drive in the rain from Malaga. She made sure we got a message from our guide in Tangier who had called before we arrived about travel concerns for the next day. We were given a beautiful room overlooking Gibralter, that […] nicely had openable windows. We really liked this hotel and highly recommend it. The bed was extremely comfortable, bathroom is modern and striking, and the whole place was just very clean and comfortable. We caught up on the news with the really nice flat-screen television. The hotel had a great breakfast buffet for a modest extra charge in the morning. To reiterate, the AC is a clean, comfortable, and fantastic hotel, and is conveniently located not far from the port of Algeciras, where you can take the slow ferry to Morocco, or catch the bus to Tarifa for the fast ferry right to downtown Tangier. The only thing I wish the room had was a lit clock with alarm, but that is no big deal. We found free parking on the nearby street where we left the car overnight, so didn't need the hotel's parking lot. We highly recommend this hotel. We stayed at many hotels in Spain, and this was, by far, the best hotel experience. Everything was so clean. The staff was nice and helpful. And the price was a great value!

Well, we were looking for a hotel with a private bathroom in walking distance to the metro. This place exceeded our expectations and then some. It's 10 minutes or less to walk to the metro, and the service was very helpful and friendly.

Great rooms, helpful staff. Location is about 5 blocks from center of town but not difficult walk. Room was too hot, but windows open so it was workable solution. Nice breakfast buffet.

Modern comfortable hotel. Convenient location if you're catching the ferry the next morning. Don't try to walk - it's taxi distance. Not many places to eat in the area and the room service menu was expensive.

This is our second time in the AC hotels, The chain surprises each time we are there. Clean, functional, everything is just what you need for a simple stay. We will definitely be back to this hotel on our next trip.

The hotel is well appointed and the service was excellent. The room we stayed in was beautifully designed and everything worked as expected. The food in the restaurant was delicious.

Great hotel chain in Spain...this hotel is very nice and comfortable. THe service is wonderful, free minibar drinks, free access to internet in the lobby. Hotel restaurant has wonderful food, although the service was lacking in the restaurant (not in the hotel itself). Best to take a taxi to the train station and the ferry port.
