We had a beautiful 1 BR suite but beware, if you're not a time-share owner at the resort, you will get "Partial Ocean View", not "Oceanfront view" as hotels.com advertised so we were a little disappointed. Nice interior. The suite has a double bed in the bedroom (which is quite small & we thought it would be a queen bed), comfy pillows but ouch, the […] mattress is a little too firm and give us stiff backs in the mornings. The hotel was a good location and very comfortable for a family. It was clean and quiet even with construction next door at the time. There was plenty of space in the room for a family of 4.

I had a very short stay at OBC and the hotel was fine; great location, clean rooms, and decent property. The problem was the.customer service. I initially booked thru hotels.com and made an alternate reservation thru the hotel directly to get an ocean view room (since they weren't answering the phone at the time I reserved on the net). BEFORE I booked […] with the hotel, I made sure that I wouldn't be charged a "cancellation fee". The hotel reservationist DOUBLE checked with the manager on duty AND note the waiver on my acct; yet when I arrived, I was told the fee would be charged. I spent over an hour of my time at the front desk explaining the scenario, called the manager for that day AT HOME to no avail. The front desk attendant even read the notes in the pc that the fee was to be waived AND still it was an issue. The next morning, the manager reviewed my acct and waived the fee, but it was very irritating and a big waste of time since I had addressed the issue well before my arrival. We were thinking of staying at the Hilton, but they were booked so we tried the Ocean Beach Club. We were supposed to have an ocean view room, but they upgraded us to an oceanfront corner room when we called and told them it was our 20th anniversary. The room was lovely with a living room and small kitchen. The pools were lovely and heated enough that […] people were swimming outside in late March. Great views and very friendly staff. Watched a pod of dolphins swim by while having coffee on the balcony before our Sunday checkout. We did get asked at check in to take the time share tour, but when we said probably not but we would call if we changed our minds, they respected that and never asked again. The only things I could think to change are the maid service was a little late (after 4 pm) and by then we were getting showered and ready for dinner, so we declined, but she did give us plenty of clean towels and took out the trash. Check out is pretty early, normal time is 10 am, but we asked for late check out and they did give us until 11. NICE HOTEL, REGGAE PLAYING IN THE LOBBY, CLEAN, AND GREAT LOCATION. BUT WHEN WE ARRIVED THEY WERE PUTTING NEW MATTRESSES IN THE ROOMS, AND THEY GAVE US A ROOM WITH NO BED! Very misleading. Lobby and entrance are well appointed. Room was very small, cramped and dated. They also tried to sell you timeshare appt (very aggressive) before you even get to the room. Additionally my 'view' consisted of a rooftop, garbage area, and parking lot. Don't waste your money, there are so many other nice hotels on the beach.

The hotel location is wonderful and it has great views of the beach. The room we stayed in was very well appointed, and we loved the convenience of the separate kitchen, living room, bedroom and big bathroom. Also, the lobby of the hotel and the pool, outside deck, etc. are really pretty and they have a bright, clean feeling. However, we ran into problems […] with the hotel staff; I'd say the problems appear to be the result of very poor hotel management. The first problem we encountered was when a front desk staff member called our room to tell us that they had a welcome package that they had forgotten to give us upon our arrival. We went down to the front desk, thinking it was going to be some nice maps and info on restaurants, but instead it was a sales pitch to buy a timeshare!! The hotel employee also answered a personal call from her son in the middle of the pitch. I thanked her, said we were not interested, and started to walk away. She practically yelled after us, asking us at least 2 or 3 other times, "Are you really sure you won't go on the tour of the timeshare?!" "Please, are you sure you won't just go see the property!?" We had to walk away while she was still talking because she wouldn't stop. She also asked us how much money we made, which I found very offensive. The second problem we encountered was when, upon turning on the jets in the bathtub, black particles poured out. At first I thought it was just sand or something in the water, but after a day or so it was obvious that something was wrong. I called the front desk and explained the problem. They said they would send someone up immediately to take a look. After half an hour, I called the front desk again and was told that things were really busy because it was Saturday. They again said they would send someone up immediately. After another 15 minutes or so, some people came up to look at the tub and said that they needed to flush the pipes or something like that. We were pleasently surprised when we stayed for an overnight trip for business in February, 2012. We have stayed at many hotels in Va Beach over the years but this was,hands down, a great place to relax in real luxury.

We went to VA Beach to visit our son as he was leaving on a Naval ship for a cruise. If was perfect, we had the livingroom and kitchen so we could hang out in the hotel room and didn't always have to be going somewhere or hang out in the lobby. We had a wonderful visit with our son in the privacy of our own livingroom. We will definately stay here if […] we come again. The price was great and everything we needed was right there. Stayed here for a weekend for a wedding. The location was great, everything you wanted was within walking distance; resturants, the beach, and shopping. A Target and Bloom grocery store weren't too far away in either directions up the road from the hotel. The room was awesome; the tub in the bathroom was so big that even I was able to sit down inside […] it with my legs stretched and I'm 6'5". They had the fastest or second fastest elevators that I've ever used; we felt like the elevator was always there when we needed it. The only issues I had were 1. For some reason, the hotels.com pricing does not include the $7.00 per night parking garage charge. 2. The bed and pillows were not the best in comfort; not bad, just not really that great. Check in at the Time Share was terrible. It was like they were doing you a favor for Hotel,com customers. And the CHARGES were Ridiculous for off season $15 to park your own car. Tons of hidden costs

For the price of this hotel, I would have thought that the actual hotel room would be modern, spacious, and up-to-date. Though the hotel on the outside and the lobby was impressive, the hotel room was cramped with little room to move. To get to the hotel room, you have to open a common room, and enter a closet-like space that has two doors (the space […] can barely fit one person), where you open your door (A or B). The TV was REALLY old and small, which is surprising again for a hotel that's supposed to be nice. The bedding, bed, furniture were all older 90's fashions and not very new and modern. We took our granddaughter there the week before Christmas to see the lights. The size of the room was perfect with the sleep sofa for her. Nice view of the ocean, although we didn't actually face the ocean, as I had hoped. Beautiful, clean hotel. We had a gorgeous view of the ocean. The staff was overwhelmingly friendly and accommodating.

This hotel is not worth the hassle.

We stayed there on our honeymoon night. The check in lady at night was nice enough (we checked in at 2 am). But the morning staff and room condition wasn't good. We asked for a late check out in off season. We were told 11 am max (for late check out!). The airconditioners (heat) didn't work (both). It was 30ish degrees outside and about 50 in the room. […] The coffee pot had stains. No room service. Just not worth the money, at any price. Lisätietoja

A beautiful facility, immaculately clean. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite which was very cozy and comfortable. We will be back for sure.

Everything was wonderful except the charge for parking I spoke with hotel.com and they said parking was included and it was not .

Tub was dirty...very spacious, great view...a little too much pressure to buy a time share!

I was satisfied with everything except the parking. I was charged 42.00 dollars for my stay. I didn"t know about this until I checked in. Other then that it was ok. The bathroom door didn"t shut right. The microwave light would not shut off when you tried to shut the door. It ended up being a night light. For the price I payed I would come back.

Overall we had a very nice time a this hotel. The price was a bit high for the overall package but the full kitchen was a wonderful bonus and the kids heated pool made the trip. We would stay here again.

The hotel is nice, but everything is MUCH smaller than the pictures suggest. for the price they are charging, you might as well look into staying at another hotel. Great hotel!! However, there are plenty of additional charges, such as, parking, internet, and safe charge. The hotel is so expensive that these items really need to already be included in the price.

I didn't realize this was a timeshare when I booked the room - otherwise I would have looked at it differently. Room was a lockoff which meant that it was very small - also laundry is expensive and they charge you for internet service. There are ocean view rooms but I doubt you will get it unless you are a timeshare owner. Construction going on and […] starts very early - 6:30AM. We arrived a little early to check in but they were more than accommodating. They got us into the parking garage, held our bags, and then called when the room was ready. It was only a short walk to Neptune park. Facility is under construction right now with an addition going on. Inside the facility you would never know it. This is a time share place […] as well so they did offer to show us around if we were interested but definitely not pressured. We politely declined and it was never brought up again. Did not want to leave!

No one informed us our room was directly beside their construction. Our view was of construction workers approximately 10 feet across the balcony. Woken up at 4am to construction sounds Indoor pool was foul, outdoor pool was nice. Concierge was very helpful. no free breakfast which was dissapointing

Booked through Hotels.com. Per the description we booked a queen efficiency with a pullout couch. Upon arrival all they had was a queen efficiency with no pullout couch. Hence, the kids had to sleep on the floor. They were all booked so no compromise was offered. This is a time share hotel so be prepared for pushy, cheesy looking sales folk offering […] free stuff for a 2 hour "tour". the Hotel was very nice and the amenities were quite satisfactory. Personally, I do like to feel taken advantage of while on vacation ... This hotel reflected that exact feeling. They did not state on the website site that they are under construction ... Loud, loud, loud. You have to pay for the Internet, pay 7 bucks a day to park and pay for a daily room safe fee weather you use it or not. This was an expensive place to stay ... I will say the staff is friendly after that it goes down hill.The room we recieved was much smaller than the room advertised on there site. It was the size of 2 walk in closets.The jetted tub was non existant.During our 3 day stay no one vacuumed the room or mopped the bathroom!.You would think that when you pay top dollar for a room parking would be […] included- think again! Pros: - Right on the beach - Free beach chairs and beach towels - Kitchenette in the room. Cons: - Significant noise from ongoing construction, which continues through weekends. It will continue through Summer of 2012. - Inhospitable staff. - You will be solicited multiple times to invest in timeshare. - Extra charge for parking, I aas charged prematurely […] even though I didn't even have a car. - Extra charge for beach umbrellas. Our only complaints were the size of the room and the view. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time.

I loved my stay at the Ocean Beach Club. Tortugas had a beautiful view of the ocean, friendly bartender and great food. The hotel was immaculate and I was very pleased with the room's ammenities. I prefer it over the other prestigious hotels in that same area.

Excellent value for a top-notch hotel with professional service. Clean inside and out. It has 2 small but adequate pools (one id outdoor and another close to it is indoor with one side is open to the outside). Unfortunately we did not have an oceanside view and actually faced the construction of their new tower. No work was being done over the holiday, […] but I can see that if there was it would not be ideal (so request one away from this). Attendants in front were very friendly, down to earth and helpful. I have spent a considerable amount of time in VA beach and this is by far the nicest hotel in the area. If you are looking at different hotels to stay at along the main VA beach board walk, then this is the one. The others are "ok" but this one is worth the money. It isn't really that much more for the luxury and value you will get.

My boyfriend and I went down here in between finishing a semester at school and starting an internship. We both had a relaxing time. The resort was beautiful and everyone that worked there was very friendly and accomidating! I highly recommended this resort and we will most likely be staying here in the future!

Beautiful Hotel, would stay here again. Only problem was front desk was a bit slow correcting a problem with our room.Front desk could use some advise on how to treat a customer when approching the front desk. Not swinging with the music in the lobby.

The staff at OBC were great but little pushy to sign up for time share. The catch to signing up were enticing and seems like a great deal but worth it in the long run. We had a great time on the beach, we did the bike ride, the tour, the shopping and of course the eating out. I would advise looking through the coupon books for all activities planned. […] Overall, the hotel and staff were great and would go back and recommend to all. As our stay was short, arriving in the wee hours of Saturday morning and departing Sunday at Noon, I wish the weather had been different so that we could've taken advantage of the outdoor pool, beach and the strip which the hotel was on. Its been several years since I have been to VA Beach and the Ocean Beach Club was such a WELCOME (LOVED THE ISLAND […] MUSIC PIPING THRU THE RECEPTION AREA). room clock was 1 hour off from time change, it was non adjustable. Could only set the alarm. TV remote in bedroom would not work. The bed room only had (2) lamps for lighting; had to use a small flashlight to look into my suitecase. The tube in the bathroom was very slow draining. We could not get the rooms either cool or warm.
