Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Cork - Cork

Hotel was ok but not great. walls paper thin.leisure centre not maintained. Unfriendly receptionist .could have been better.

I stayed in the Radisson Blu Hotel in cork last weekend with my girlfriend for one night. when we arrived the girl at the reception did say hello but did not say much more. i gave her my name to check in and she just gave me my key and told me my room number then walked away from the desk. we were unsure where our room was and where the lift to the […] next floor was so i had to ask another staff member. when making the booking i asked for a double room but when we went into our room it was a twin bed but we were not to bothered by this and just pushed the beds together. Later that day i went back to the reception to ask about where to book a spa treatment for my girlfriend and it was the same girl that was on the reception when we first checked in and this time she was still unhelpful and just told me she could not do this and i need to go to the next reception but i had to ask where this is as she did not explain this. After a long drive we were looking forward to a nice sleep but that was even hard to get in this hotel. There was a door between our room and the next room which was not very sound proof and at 2am when the people in the room beside us were not in their alarmclock went off for an hour so i contacted the reception but half an hour later the people came back to their room and turned it off. To top off this bad sleep room service then came into our room at half nine as they had thought we had checked out. Will not stay in any radisson again Lisätietoja

Hotel staff were very nice.. On arrival we were upgraded to a business class room. The room was very clean and spacious. A cot was provided for our baby but this was very old and grubby looking. Food in the bar was lovely but Portions were quite small. The location of hotel suited us as we had a car and it was only a short drive to cobh and to fota […] island. However the actual setting of hotel wasn't the most appealing as it was in an industrial estate. Overall I would happily recommend the hotel to anyone who is driving and looking to visit the sights by day. But if you were looking for nearby night life it probably wouldn't suit as well. The Radisson is in a handy location - you don't have to cross the city when coming from Dublin or Waterford, it's close to a rail station, not too far from the city and from Fota. Very comfortable spacious modern well equipped room, beautiful breakfast ans all staff were very well trained and good at their jobs.

I've stayed in thousands of hotels and this has without a doubt the most uncomfortable beds and over starched linen I've ever encounteted. I've slept on concrete floors that were more comfortable and the linen could pass as sandpaper! Also they put me over their fiction room on the night of a wedding. I stayed on business, therefore was working the […] loud music kept me up 'til 3am! On a positive the service was good and food okay. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you need to sleep! The hotel is located about 15 minutes outside Cork city, in an industrial estate just off the N25 ring road. There is nothing of note to do in the area around the hotel. The hotel lobby and common areas are fine but a little dated, the carpets are badly stained but this isn't going to get in the way of your stay. There was a wedding in the hotel on the night we stayed. We were booked into a room overlooking an inner courtyard and the ballroom. It was extremely noisy. No one could possibly sleep with the level of noise. For a modern hotel it is a bit surprising that it was designed this way. On that side of the hotel the bedrooms are not fit for use during wedding […] functions. Also there is no air conditioning so with the windows open it is even worse. Eventually we could stick it no longer and when we phoned reception the staff could not have been more helpful. They located a room on the other side of the hotel and we moved, finally getting some sleep at 1 a.m. Trouble with the second room, it is beside the motorway, more noise! Why they gave us the first room is a bit of a mystery, they should be kept for wedding guests. If you book in make sure you specify a quiet room! Lisätietoja

Excellent stay....close to Fota and motorway...warmest pool I have ever been in.

Took a little time to find the hotel but once we arrived my wife & I were very comfortable. Our room was in immaculate condition, the staff were very helpful & the restuarant was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Clean comfortable and ideal for visiting cork it's about 15 min drive from city centre but relaxing atmosphere when there. Only thing is the bar is a bit expensive but hey your probably loaded unlike me.

This hotel is a little outside the city but the train station is only about 10mins walk away. A little hard to find and could do with larger signs at roundabout. Big airy foyer. Good bar food.

The hotel is modern and well maintained. Rooms were spacious, clean and there was very little noise intruding from other rooms which is often a problem in other hotels. Don't know if this was due to low occupancy in the hotel or room construction!! Food in the hotel was very good although I felt the menu was a bit limited in it 's variety. Breakfast […] was buffet style with everything from full Irish to continental. The Swimming Pool and Spa area were good. Kids enjoyed pool as it has a number of jucuzzi areas and water features. However it is also used by non residents of the hotel and I got the impression that they were not enamoured with kids in the pool getting in the way of the unofficial swimming lane. The location of the hotel is about a 10 minute drive to Cork City centre, less than five minutes to the Jack Lynch Tunnel and the South Ring Road and 10 minutes from Midleton and Cobh. So it is an excellent location if you wish to explore the wider Cork area. The hotel itself is located in an industrial estate which is not very appealing, however the grounds of the hotel are wooded and well maintained. There are two nice restaraunts in nearby Glounthaune which is a five minute drive from hotel. Otherwise there is not much else around (unless you like KFC or Piazza Hut). Overall it is a good hotel and I would recommend it if you are looking for a hotel away from the city centre. Lisätietoja

We stayed at the Radisson Ditchley House for a weekend away recently. On arrival at the hotel we were checked in relatively quickly. Staff were pleasant and informative. The room was a good size, clean and tidy - but prepare yourself for the strange shapes and colours in the carpet and headboard! The pool was easily accessible, towels and swim hats […] were provided. Wi-Fi was available throughout the hotel which was a big plus. Breakfast was a well-run show in the morning. I imagine all tastes were catered for in the large amount of breakfast foods available, from continental to full-irish. Cork city is a 12-min drive or so from the hotel but the drive is painless and straightforward. Overall (for the money) this hotel is a good bet. Lisätietoja

A great venue if you are on a business trip. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with free Wi-Fi and a spacious desk. Food was also good and the breakfast would cater for all tastes. Highly recommended.

Front desk staff are exceptionally friendly. We went on a quiet weekend in October and we were given a free upgrade. Food in the restaurant and bar is excellent. Although the hotel is outside the city it's in a nice quiet location and well worth the good deal we got on hotels.com

Very nice, clean and spacious hotel. Will stay there again. The rooms were big and spacious and the bar food was good.

My two friends and I were driving the entire West Coast of Ireland and needed a place to stay as we passed through Cork. The location was excellent as we did not need to pass through the city to get on the highway to Dublin. We also were given a suite (because we were 3 people) and it was sparkling clean and modern. Even the cot for the third person […] was extremely comfortable. Awesome hotel. Don't book here though if you want to explore Cork and be close to the attractions....it's pretty out of the way. The Radisson blu hotel in co. cork was a fabulous hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.The room that we stayed in was the ocean themed room which we found to be extremely calming , relaxing and very spacious and with all the amenities that the room had to offer made it a very enjoyable stay so much so that just sitting in the […] room was a very pleasant experience The pool was fantastic with all its features, made for a very enjoyable and relaxing time while there. The bar was pleasant and the food in the bar was lovely,Breakfast was so well laid out the choices were many and the food great. Close to the hotel is cork city 10 mins drive also Fota wildlife park 15 mins, then you had Middleton, Youghal and other towns all within a reasonable driving distance.All in all our stay in the Radisson was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience and would not hesitate in returning thereany time,I would highly recomend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious stay in a hotel, 10 out of 10. Lovely, clean, friendly staff, the room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was great, plenty of everything and all was fresh, the cooked breakfast was freshly cooked and not left sitting, my daughter loved the freshly cooked chocolate muffin - this is not the place to stay if you intend leaving the car and going walking around […] cork city, it is outside of cork approx 10 minutes from Fota, but it is ideal if you want to use it as a base, if you have children that love pizza there is a pizza hut approx 2 minutes from the hotel - only real problem I had was - I could not find the hotel on the sat nav and had to resort to good old "asking a local", but it is very easy to find, it is just off the main road to Midleton, easy directions are: if you are coming from Dublin Road - turn left just before you come to the Jack Lynch Tunnel, drive out this road approx 11/2 miles till you see a bridge, take the slip road, cross the bridge, take the 3rd exit off the roundabout and first right - you are at the hotel - I enjoyed my weekend, my kids enjoyed the swimming pool and all in all I would stay there again Lisätietoja

Handy location for short stopover in cork designed mainly for business trips

Excellent hotel for people travelling with children. It's not fancy or fussy but all the services one might expect from a 4 star are provided. Breakfast was perfect anf b/fast staff very nice. Food generally good and not expensive. Great location for day trips to Kinsale and Fota Island.

This hotel is pretty and clean. The rooms are somewhat stark and cold feeling. Could use some warmth.

Close enough to Cork, but you will need a car. Rooms were very clean and the staff very helpful. There is a large shopping Mall (Ireland Standards) with a Movie theater about 2 km away.

I was travelling with my husband and 7 mt old baby. The hotel was lovely. They provided a travel cot and the room was quite big so we weren't squashed with the cot. Its in a great location for fota and just outside the entrance to the right is an estate with a spar shop, cafe, supermacs, pizza hut and kfc. We went on a break to Cork before our daughter went back to school. We had planned to tour so we wanted a base with a pool, comfortable lounge and big room. We looked at the basic twin room and for a little extra upgraded to a suite. It was clean, comfortable had all the extras. The pool was great and the breakfast was just everything you could […] want. I had only one gripe and it was the fact that a wedding reception was in progress downstairs. We went to bed as late as we could, but the partying did'nt die down till 2am.
