GRAN HOTEL SULA - San Pedro Sula

Hotel was out dated for the price !! Only desk clerk spoke English !

The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The rooms are dated but its original grandness is evident. The same goes for the lobby. The bathroom floor tile and sink grout is full of mold! A good cleaning would clear this up ! The water was never hot during the week we stayed. It was warm at best. The attached restaurant was great; good wholesome food […] and an attentive wait staff. Great staff, great food and good location. Security is tight and they are always looking out for the safety of their guests. They are right there at the door waiting for you when you return and if you have to wait outside for someone, they stand there with you. A friendly place with "good" accommodations. It is an older hotel, so you will see some areas, […] such as the bathroom door that may not be up to the standards of an American hotel, (moisture "wear" at the bottom of the door), but the rooms are clean and comfortable and the private balconies for each room really helps when you just want to sit and enjoy the outdoors without any crowd. The fruit basket that was left in my room and the rooms of the others in my group was a pleasant and welcome surprise. DELICIOUS !!!You also have a cafe which is open 24 hours right there in the hotel, so if you get in late, you have that convenience, as most food service businesses close early. I'm usually pretty forgiving when it comes to travel outside the US but this place disappointed even me. In fact I cancelled my stay for the return trip. For the price it was not especially clean and there was NO hot water! The bed was uncomfortable and the park outside the window is pretty noisy - even from the 5th floor. I was pretty bummed about […] the lack of hot water since it had been rainy and cold for several days already. The service was okay but not stellar. A decent hotel with good restaurant inside. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy, but most of downtown San Pedro is like this. I recommend it. I've been going to this hotel for 13 years.

We only stayed 1 night, ti was recommended that we did not walk around after dark, only travel by taxi from the hotel. The hotel was old, the staff was very cordial and friendly. I would have stayed a bit away from the center at the Hilton, Holiday Inn, or some other available hotels were the surroundings seemed more peaceful and not as congested.

This is a nice place to stay, it's an old building but it has been maintained. The rooms are very clean and the Internet speed was very fast.

Basic hotel in the city centre, main disadvantage though is that it is rather noisy.

Quick service. All as agreed over the internet. Nice and clean rooms. Right in the middle of the town. We - a family of 5 - had two rooms, side by side. You cant pay in advance, but everything was still as we ordered it by hotels.com. You can use all credit cards.
